We present a numerical simulation on the effect of leakage paths in the regrown GaN layer in the aperture and above the current blocking layer (CBL) of current aperture vertical electron transistor (CAVET) devices. Here, a 2D TCAD modeling is employed to simulate a CAVET device structure considering two main origins of parasitic leakage current from CBL/regrown-GaN interface and gate/regrown-GaN bulk and their degree of detrimental effect on the characteristics of AlGaN/GaN CAVETs.

The search for novel multi-functional material has been on the rise for the past decades. These materials ought to possess flexible structures and tunable properties in order to be utilized for a variety of applications. Perovskite materials are predominantly used in solar cell applications due to their broad absorption spectrum, long carrier lifetime, and long transport distance of electrons and holes. Nevertheless, their unique and tunable properties allow for their utilization in a wide range of applications. In this work, a review on the application of perovskite materials in hydrogen production, supercapacitors, and optoelectronic devices is presented. The role of perovskite in the improvement of said applications is investigated, and future outlook and remarks are presented. This paper highlights the potential utilization of perovskite material outside the scope of photoelectric devices and solar cells.
