In recent years, the global growth of the economy contributed to the significant increase of tourism in the world, where the movement of foreign exchange earnings doubled in the last ten years, spreading its effects in Brazil, and particularly, growth in the Northeast region, globalization and other short term changes. This work aims to presents how a Brazilian state, among those with lower income per capita in the Federation, such as Piauí, has a health care system in its capital which is a benchmark in Northeastern Brazil, influencing positively health tourism in this regims. The research deals with issues involving tourism as a product and service, having as a result a cluster of health enterprises in the city of Teresina, whose economic expression justifies its importance as a generator of income, employment, science and technology and a promoter of sustainable development in that city. © IFIP International Federation for Information Processing 2014.

The ordinal methods are widely used to establish rankings in sports competitions because sporting results are on an ordinal scale. However, these methods assume that the decision maker is highly rational and provide a full ranking. This paper analyses the case in which the decision maker is weakly rational. In this case, the decision maker respects the transitivity of preferences but not indifference. It also shows how to adapt the Condorcet method to deal with this situation, using the results of the 2013 Formula 1 Constructors’ World Championship.

In the transformation from traditional to smart cities, there is an increasing trend around the world towards intelligent dynamic infrastructures that provide citizens with new services that can improve their quality of life and fulfill the criteria of energy efficiency and sustainability. In the light of this, an important challenge is how to enable citizens and cities to promote the sensing of data with regard to a number of different factors. This paper outlines the early stages of our research which is concerned with an ubiquitous service-oriented architecture for urban sensing called UrboSenti. The proposed approach differs from other sensing plat-forms since it provides a set of services to collect data from several sources and assists in the development of new sensing applications. In addition, our model encompasses all the sensing activities, ranging from the collection of data to the generation of reports about events in the city. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2015.

One of the most important aspects to be considered by Distribution Centers (DCs) is the improvement of the process in relation to the attributes of the service that is provided. The purpose of this article is to analyze various alternatives for the definition of a DC with the use of a method of multi-criteria support in decision making, more specifically, the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) for the allocation and weighting of importance levels for structuring DCs. To further illustrate the process, a field study was conducted in a multinational company in the food sector. This enabled the identification of the best of three possible structures that were evaluated based on the criteria and sub-criteria targeted in the decision context. The results show that the cost and quality factors are primarily responsible for choosing the most appropriate alternative. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

The paper presents an analytical reflection, based on the context of knowledge management, risk management, quality management, intra-organizational relationships through attributes associated with corporate sustainability. For reasons of theoretical essay, research was supported in mapping the primary references and analysis of different interpretations of sustainability reports from companies associated with the Ethos Institute (Brazil). The Agricultural Model Intercomparison and Improvement Project has shown that many wheat crop models can simulate grain yields and growth dynamics under a range of growing conditions,but simulation results often *** model uncertainties increase with higher temperatures and with combined increased temperature and CO,however,multi-model ensemble medians have proven with field observations to be a good predictor of observed data under various growing *** multi-model ensemble median simulations showed that global wheat production declines by 6% for each degree of global temperature *** simulated impact is similar to temperature impact assessments using statistical regression methods with aggregated farm *** on the temperature impact study,new simulations of increased temperature were combined with elevated CO and rainfall changes to assess their impact on yield and protein and included the possible role of genetic adaptations to climate change at local,regional and global scales.

Based on high-order linear multistep methods (LMMs), we use the class of extended trapezoidal rules (ETRs) to solve boundary value problems of ordinary differential equations (ODEs), whose numerical solutions can be approximated by boundary value methods (BVMs). Then we combine this technique with fourth-order Padé compact approximation to discrete 2D Schrödinger equation. We propose a scheme with sixth-order accuracy in time and fourth-order accuracy in space. It is unconditionally stable due to the favourable property of BVMs and ETRs. Furthermore, with Richardson extrapolation, we can increase the scheme to order 6 accuracy both in time and space. Numerical results are presented to illustrate the accuracy of our scheme.

This paper presents a multiple case study concerning to the Integrated Product Development Process(IPDP) that involves the concepts of environmental sustainability and social inclusion to build solar water heating system made of discarded and recyclable materials in a way that People with Visual deficiency(Pw VD) can participate in its *** research proposes that engineering courses in a near future adopt the aspect of Citizenship Education systematically, contextualizing environmental impact reduction and social inclusion of people with *** technical procedure of the study was delineated according to IPDP phases defined in two multidisciplinary strands leading to raw materials data collection through recycling and manufacturability with accessibility process to develop the product *** analysis of the results presents the tooling developed for manufacturing with accessibility of people with visual impairments and the efficiency of the prototype *** the end, it is placed the relevant notes observed during the research and sustainable assignments in social and environmental dimensions for the education of engineering professionals.

This article aims to show the effects of the Micro-EDM process that influences the hole taper by comparing the parameters values during micro-drilling hole on the inconel 718 material. The condition of Micro-EDM drilling spark on the surface workpiece was 300 μm of depth and 200 μm of diameter tungsten carbide electrode. The experiment was carried out under the cover of hydrocarbon, using fluid dielectric cooling. The experiment parameters included on-time duty factor, off-time, voltage, frequency, and current, respectively. The experiment, it was found that the hole taper an immense effect on the machinability of drilling the workpieces, cause melting and recasting in the spark area, making a decrease in the ability of debris removal. Moreover, the experiment result, the tapered workpiece showed a minimized is 16.87 s, when using parameters at current 32 m A, frequency 150 Hz, and voltage 110 v, respectively. The optimal parameters to affected minimum hole taper is 0.195 degree, when using parameters at current 32 m A, frequency 130 Hz, and voltage 110 v, respectively.
