The aim of this paper is to compare and discuss better classifier algorithm options for credit risk assessment by applying different Machine Learning techniques. Using records from a Brazilian financial institution, this study uses a database of 5,432 companies that are clients of the bank, where 2,600 clients are classified as non-defaulters, 1,551 are classified as defaulters and 1,281 are temporarily defaulters, meaning that the clients are overdue on their payments for up 180 days. For each case, a total of 15 attributes was considered for a one-against-all assessment using four different techniques: Artificial Neural Networks Multilayer Perceptron (ANN-MLP), Artificial Neural Networks Radial Basis Functions (ANN-RBF), Logistic Regression (LR) and finally Support Vector Machines (SVM). For each method, different parameters were analyzed in order to obtain different results when the best of each technique was compared. Initially the data were coded in thermometer code (numerical attributes) or dummy coding (for nominal attributes). The methods were then evaluated for each parameter and the best result of each technique was compared in terms of accuracy, false positives, false negatives, true positives and true negatives. This comparison showed that the best method, in terms of accuracy, was ANN-RBF (79.20% for non-defaulter classification, 97.74% for defaulters and 75.37% for the temporarily defaulter classification). However, not always did the best accuracy represent the best technique for the assessment of this problem. For instance, on the classification of temporarily defaulters, this technique, in terms of false positives, was surpassed by SVM, which had the lowest rate (0.07%) of false positive classifications. All these intrinsic details are discussed considering the results found, and an overview of what was presented is shown in the conclusion of this study. © 2019, Computers and Industrial engineering. The strong competitiveness challenges manufacturing industry to rationalize different ways of bringing new products to the market in the shortest time with competitive prices while ensuring higher quality. Industries need to effectively share product requirements, which comes from various sources and are heterogeneous in nature, during the Product Development Process (PDP) to stay competitive. However, problems with misinterpretation of such requirements have been identified during its sharing due to semantic interoperability obstacles related to the process of automatically gathering requirements and their translation and reuse. This research proposes an approach to automatically gather product requirements, extracting its knowledge and translate it for further use and reuse along PDP. The research structure consisted of firstly studying the current issues of the topic, secondly by exploring an approach, to be validated in an experimental case. Current issues point out to gaps related to the process of semantic reconciliation and knowledge extraction perspectives, giving it a multi-dimensional panorama where semantic issues are intertwined among different perspectives. The later solution presents an approach which considers raw information being processed into product features, refining knowledge during PDP and making it reusable in different cycles. The approach brings a new view on practical methods for automatically collect product requirements, extract its knowledge and translate it into product features, based on knowledge extraction methods and by using semantic reconciliation as means for translating product’s requirements. Further research will focus on expanding the approach and including more features to increasingly complex cases, to explore the full potential of the approach. © 2019, IFIP International Federation for Information Processing.

This paper is emphases on the financial impact of RFID system on the healthcare. The main obstacle of RFID implementation is the high costs hence the area of application must be very selective. We decide on the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department (OGD), where the patient has many visits during three different periods: Pregnancy, Delivery and after Childbirth. This research conducted over two years to collect real data for two different scenarios, traditional versus RFID systems. The reductions in waiting times for each period are valued into money. The RFID technology can significantly improve the processing times associated with medical record retrieval, dispensing medication, personnel management and billing. This analysis is planned for a period of 5 years with discount rate of 4%. Finally, the net present value concept is applied in order to compare the financial benefit of two systems and to obtain the payback period. © 2012 IEEE.

In this paper, we propose a risk management model of information security for Peruvian SMEs, taking as reference the OCTAVE-S methodology and the ISO / IEC 27005 standard. The model consists of the 3 phases of OCTAVE-S (Construction of the threats profile, Identification of infrastructure vulnerabilities, and Strategies and security plans). This model contains the contemplated lists of ISO / IEC 27005, it also contains the calculation and the risk treatment of this standard. Likewise, the model adopts a quantitative approach that allows calculating the residual risk, for example, the most critical asset identified obtained 216 of risk value and the residual risk obtained was 109 of risk value, this is obtained on the basis of the effectiveness of the controls that are part of the proposed model, for example, formalize procedures and policies and their occasional review. This model provides guidelines for information security risks for companies. It was implemented in the sales process of a Peruvian SME of the ceramic sector, proving to be easy to use and it was possible to identify the necessary controls to reduce the risk, whose implementation reduces the risk by 53%. © 2018 IEEE.

In the current digital era, efficiently accessing relevant information is crucial for various applications such as restaurant recommendation systems, website searches, book recommendations, among others. This study presents an approach for personalized recommendations in improving the customer service process in restaurants using OpenAI's Contextual Chatbot. The approach consists of six phases: (1) Data preprocessing, (2) Embedding and storage, (3) Scheduled updating, (4) Document retrieval, (5) Context adaptation and request creation, and (6) Response generation. OpenAI's text embeddings are used to convert application data into vectors and store them in a vector database. These vectors are used to retrieve similar records and generate contextualized responses using the GPT-3.5 model. The chatbot's performance is evaluated in terms of accuracy and user satisfaction. Two scenarios were used in the experimentation: (a) with the proposed solution and (b) without the solution. The results demonstrated an operational efficiency of 86.67% with the proposed solution and the versatility of the proposed methodology, showcasing its potential for application in a wide range of domains, including websites, books, PDFs, and other forms of documentation. © 2023 IEEE.

In recent years, significant progress has been made in the integration of technologies in voting systems with the aim of improving the transparency of the process. This study proposes an audit model based on the ISO/IEC 27002 standard to evaluate electronic voting systems that make use of Blockchain technology and the Internet of Things (IoT), with the aim of improving security in voting processes. To validate this model, an evaluation of the security control was carried out by applying this international standard to a voting system that integrates Blockchain and IoT. In our analysis of 6 security controls applied to the reality of electronic voting, the system passed all established tests;Therefore, it can be concluded that the risk of compromising system information has been significantly mitigated. This research contributes to the advancement of the security of electronic voting systems and provides a solid foundation for future developments in this field. The combination of emerging technologies and international standards promotes trust, security and therefore mitigates any risk of compromising an electronic voting system by following the best practices of the international standard ISO/IEC 27002. © 2023 IEEE.

Indonesia, as one of the largest coffee producers and exporters in the world, has experienced significant growth in the number of coffee shops, driven by increasing consumer demand for ready-to-drink coffee. This study aims to enhance sales performance at Authen Café and Space through the implementation of a menu bundling strategy. By utilizing data mining techniques and the Apriori algorithm, customer purchasing patterns were analyzed to identify optimal menu combinations. The data was collected directly at Authen Cafe during the period from April to August 2028. The analysis revealed that bundling strategies, such as combining Ayam Rica-Rica with Es Kopi Susu Karamel, are effective in increasing sales volume and product popularity among consumers. Furthermore, this study evaluated the impact of offering discounts on bundled packages on the café's profitability, demonstrating that this approach can boost net profit without sacrificing profit margins. This research provides significant insights into the application of data-driven marketing strategies within the café'industry and offers guidance for more effective managerial decision-making. © 2024 IEEE.

During 2020, the pandemic intensified global cyberattacks, increasing by 50% in 2021. Since 2022, the war in Ukraine has exacerbated this situation, particularly in the oil and gas industry. This sector, considered critical infrastructure, faces cybersecurity challenges that demand a proactive approach combining technological and behavioral controls. Therefore, a cybersecurity model based on NIST CSF (National Institute of Standards and Technology Cybersecurity Framework) and CIS CSC (Center for Internet Security Critical Security Controls) is proposed to protect the technological platform of a natural gas company. This model consists of four stages: environment analysis, scope and risk appetite, control design, and finally, its development. This model was validated through the evaluation of the implemented controls and a survey of the staff, obtaining a 92.69% effectiveness and an 81.55% acceptance, thus achieving level 2 of NIST CSF, meeting the established objective. © 2023 IEEE.

Establishing an effective and secure operating and logistics base under austere conditions, either at home or abroad, regardless of whether the origin of the crisis is military or strictly humanitarian in nature, is a complex mission. Unfortunately, the doctrine supporting the life-cycle management of base camp facilities is poorly codified and usually unstructured due to the disparate nature of the governmental organizations tasked with accomplishing these missions. In order to overcome this problem, the Department of systems engineering at the United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point has developed functional and non-functional requirements for, and has partially implemented a commercial-offthe- shelf (COTS) knowledge management (KM) system that facilitates the sharing of this type of specialized information for military and civilian members of the "Base Camp Community of Practice (CoP)".

A common notion underscoring popular beliefs of organizational growth in the digital future involves transforming processes to sustain or improve operations. Although a plethora of measures and metrics abound, digital transformation must begin with a strict ontological separation into those that are counted and those that are measurable/measured. The results of organizational processes can be counted. Thus, the aim is to characterize processes as distinct from functions, where the difference provides a basis for evaluating an organization's existing and proposed processes through countable items;and developing functional performances with measurable impacts, consequences, and costs. The result is an understanding of the measured value and worth of the transformations. By applying an ontological framework, we find that measurement theory captures the losses often missed or misinterpreted when planning and executing digital transformation. Significantly, these losses also hinder work and mask the true nature of the impacts of transformation. We posit the reported 'failures' of digital transformation may implicate procedural counting and presumed measurements - both of which violate measurement theory. © 2022 PICMET.
