A prototype of a remote lab for providing cloud computer resources in optimal manner to achieve an infrastructure lab service is discussed. It has the ability to offer training sessions for different operating systems and networking techniques that are used to build hybrid IT infrastructure solutions. Topologies consisting of machine servers equipped with different operating systems such as Linux, Windows, Solaris etc. that are coupled with each other through different network components and devices, presents an IT infrastructure solution. Such a laboratory will solve many of the problems facing students in developing countries, as academic institutions are not equipped with the appropriate platforms and network components for teaching IT. Moreover, IT departments of business enterprises or IT academic institutions will save big amounts of money as there is no necessity to purchase such expensive systems. Currently, the first prototype is being built using VMware ESX server, VMware vSphere client, GNS3, among others. The development environments used have the capability to manage large pools of virtualized computing infrastructure, including software and hardware. The research is also aimed at carrying out a comparative evaluation to measure some pedagogic and usability criteria.

In recent years, the high demand for methods to satisfy process plants performance requirements has shed the light on the subject of process control. This subject has become increasingly important as a result of the large emphasis placed on environmental and safety regulations, plant efficiency and economic factors. The primary objective of process control is to maintain a process at the desire operating conditions safely and efficiently, while satisfying environment and product quality requirements [1]. The nonlinear nature of these processes requires other methods than conventional control. Fuzzy controllers are a practical alternative for such processes and provide human experts the ability to control the process by having intuitive understanding of it. Fuzzy controllers are knowledge-based controllers and do not involve or require a mathematical model of the process throughout its design and implementation. This paper addresses the application of fuzzy control to a continually stirred tank reactor (CSTR). The paper demonstrates the feasibility of this method in light of a highly nonlinear chemical process as such. © 2012 IEEE.

Collaborative working environments for distance education can be considered as a more generic form of contemporary remote labs. To make this revolutionary learning environment possible, we must allow the different users to carry out an experiment simultaneously. In recent times, multi-user environments are successfully applied in many applications such as air traffic control systems, team-oriented military systems, chat-text tools, multi-player games etc. In this investigation, collaborative working environments from theoretical and practical perspectives are considered in order to build an effective collaborative real lab, which allows two students or more to conduct remote experiments at the same time as a team. In order to achieve this goal, we have implemented distributed system architecture, enabling students to obtain an automated help by either a human tutor or a rule-based e-tutor.

This work presents a combination of the Model-View-Controller pattern with the Evolutionary Acquisition Interdisciplinary Research Project Management for web services *** intends to promote an increase in productivity and to facilitate interdisciplinary web services *** consists of an independent database for users' feedback that together with technological opportunities and evolving threats considerations may start a new release of the system allowing a dynamic evolution through acquiring new features or correcting errors,but the new release decision is not *** other words,web service evolution is accomplished adding requirements analysis into the Model-View-Controller pattern,which is incorporated into Interdisciplinary Research Project Management.

This work shows how balanced transconductor-C low-pass ladder filters using a different arrangement of the transconductors to reduce distortion can also have stable common-mode natural frequencies, not requiring common-mode stabilization circuits. Simulated distortion results are presented, interesting sensitivity properties of these filters are discussed, and some limitations of the technique are mentioned.

The Ray Tracing rendering algorithm can produce high-fidelity images of 3-D scenes, including shadow effects, as well as reflections and transparencies. This is currently done at a processing speed of at most 30 frames per second. Therefore, actual implementations of the algorithm are not yet suitable for interactive real-time rendering, which is required in games and virtual reality based applications. Fortunately, the algorithm allows for massive parallelization of its computations. In this paper, we present a parallel architecture for ray tracing based on a uniform spatial subdivision of the scene and exploiting an embedded computation of ray-triangle intersections. This approach allows for a significant acceleration of intersection computations, as well as, a reduction of the total number of the required intersections checks. Furthermore, it allows for these checks to be performed in parallel and in advance for each ray. In this paper we discuss and analyze an ASIP-based implementation using FPGAs and a GPGPU-based parallel implementation of the proposed architecture. The performance of both implementations are reported and compared." © 2011 IEEE.

Effective exploitation of the application-specific parallel patterns and computation operations through their direct implementation in hardware is the base for construction of high-quality application-specific (re-) configurable application specific instruction set processors (ASIPs) and hardware accelerators for modern highly-demanding applications. Although it receives a lot of attention from the researchers and practitioners, a very important problem of hardware reuse in ASIP and accelerator synthesis is clearly underestimated and does not get enough attention in the published research. This paper is an effect of an industry and academic collaborative research. It analyses the problem of hardware sharing, shows its high practical relevance, as well as a big influence of hardware sharing on the major circuit and system parameters, and its importance for the multi-objective optimization and tradeoff exploitation. It also demonstrates that the state-of-the-art synthesis tools do not sufficiently address this problem and gives several guidelines related to enhancement of the hardware reuse. © 2011 IEEE.

We introduce some modifications to the widely deployed Kerberos authentication protocol. The principle's secret-key will be independent of the user password to overcome the weak passwords chosen by the network principal that are susceptible to password guessing attacks, the main drawback of the Kerberos protocol. Instead, the Kerberos Distribution Center saves a profile for every instance in its realm to generate the principle's secret-key by hashing the profile, and encrypting the output digest. Besides, the lifetime of the secret-key is controlled using the sys-tem clock. Triple-Des is used for encryption, SHA-256 for hashing, and Blum Blum Shub for random number gen-eration.
