This study presents a deep learning framework optimizing 3D clothing models for VR, using a CNN to significantly reduce the triangle count of models from DeepFashion3D and CAP-UDF datasets. Achieving a balance between efficiency and detail, it cuts triangle count from over 160,000 to below 4,000, maintaining high DPI. The approach automates optimization, promising scalability and efficiency in VR fashion, setting a foundation for future 3D content development, enhancing virtual garment realism and interactivity.

To understand and characterize the diffusion trends of opposing viewpoints on Twitter (X), we applied two epidemiological models to six datasets related to COVID-19. We compared the results of the SIR (Susceptible, Infected, Recovered) and the SEIZ (Susceptible, Exposed, Infected, Skeptics) epidemiological models. We collected six datasets indicative of polarizing viewpoints related to contentious subjects surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. Three of the datasets fall into an anti-subject hashtag group, and three of the datasets fall into a pro-subject hashtag group. The timeframe of each dataset is from January 1, 2020, to the end of 2021. Our findings demonstrate that while both the SIR and the SEIZ models are able to evaluate the propagation trends of the polarizing viewpoints, the SEIZ model is more accurate with relatively less error compared to the SIR model. This work sets the stage for ultimately leading to the ability to develop methods to prevent the propagation of ideas that lack scientific evidence while promoting the spread of scientifically backed ideas. © 2025 IEEE computer Society. This paper discusses intelligent constellation generation based on autoencoder communication system. In previous studies, the amplitude was set to fluctuate between r=0.0 and 1.0. However, when checking the generated constellation, distortion was confirmed instead of the conventional symbol arrangement. Therefore, in this paper, it compares the case where the amplitude is constant, the case where the average amplitude within a Minibatch is 1, and the case where the average amplitude is 1 for Interval time. The communication standard used in this research is IEEE 802.11a, assuming wireless Local Area Network (LAN) specifications. The IEEE 802.11a standard has an Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) length of 64, a subcarrier number of 52, and Quadrature Phase Shift Keying (QPSK) and 16 Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM), modulation methods. A guard interval of 800 ns is added and the symbol length is 4000 ns. First, a simulation was performed under the condition that the amplitude was kept constant. QPSK with 4 symbols, constant amplitude model is rounded more than previous research result. 16QAM with 16 symbols is arranged regularly like lined up on a line. Second, the simulation was performed under the condition that the average amplitude within the minibatch was set to 1. QPSK with 4 symbols, appears to rotate clockwise. 16QAM with 16 symbols has a more uniform symbol placement than previous research result. Third, a simulation was performed under the condition that the average amplitude within Interval time was set to 1. QPSK with 4 symbols, is the closest to square among QPSK output results so far. The direction is slightly tilted, but if it can be rotated a little more, it may be possible to reproduce the same symbol arrangement as before. 16QAM with 16 symbols, the symbol arrangement is biased as a whole. We bring historical findings related to the most important Latin American and Brazilian Robotics Symposiums including their quality analytics regarding all papers published since their creation. For this quality analysis, we first provide a little of history and then we apply a methodology based on a systematic mapping of the literature using Scopus (from Elsevier) and Web of Science. The quality analysis includes variables as citations metrics, and also other historical variables as participation per countries, per states, per universities, and contributed areas among others. We use metadata and tools available in the most commonly used digital libraries, for a fair comparison. To the end, with basis on the results of our methodological approach, we point out that the community has followed the right path for establishing a high quality event, mainly regarding the decision of publication of the proceedings at IEEE Xplore, and recently in the Brazilian computer Society Library (Sol-SBC), all together. Also, our analysis corroborate to verify the modi operandi that have been used in the events execution, including joining in the Workshop of Robotics in Education (WRE) and the competitions (RCB, OBR, MNR, CBR, LARC). Besides happening jointly, each event keeps their original event structure and characteristics.

This study examines the automatic recognition of human emotions in real-time through facial expressions from webcams. Real-time emotion recognition is a crucial element in human-computer interaction and emotional computing. The study evaluates the effectiveness of various techniques in real-time facial emotion recognition using a custom CNN model, creating an ensemble with a voting mechanism, and integrating the system for real-time emotion recognition. The CNN model was trained on the FER2013 dataset, which consists of facial images labeled with different emotional states. It achieved a remarkable accuracy of 95%. In this study, we developed a dataset named ATS_FER2024, which consists of 184 images depicting seven distinct emotions. The tests conducted on this dataset yielded an accuracy rate of 89%. Despite its small size, the dataset's accuracy is noteworthy. The findings contribute to academic knowledge on developing emotion recognition systems, enhancing empathy, and creating context-sensitive interactions in real-world applications.

One-Way Quantum Repeater with Rare-Earth-Ions Doped in Solids

Quantum repeaters are proposed to overcome exponential photon loss over distance in fibers. One-way quantum repeaters eliminate the need for two-way classical communications, which can potentially outperform quantum memory based quantum repeaters. I propose that rare-earth-ions doped in solids and coupled with nano-cavity can be used to generate photonic cluster state efficiently, which serve as good platforms for one-way quantum repeater nodes. In addition, I propose a multiplexed scheme of photonic tree cluster state generation with multiple quantum emitters. With less than 100 quantum emitters, secret key rates can reach the order of MHz over a few thousand kilometers. This proposal is especially useful for generating large scale photonic cluster state, which is essential for correcting operational errors during processing in quantum repeater nodes. © 2024, CC BY.

This paper proposed Scalability in Autoencoder-based Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing(OFDM) communication system. In the previous research, only the comparison between IEEE802.11a and Autoencoder by the conventional OFDM communication system was performed, and it was proved that the communication system created by Autoencoder exceeded the performance of the conventional system. Therefore, in this paper, it uses IEEE802.11n and compare whether it can be improved by expanding the bandwidth and using ***802.11n standard has an FFT length of 128, a subcarrier number of 114 (108 for data), and modulation schemes of Quadrature Phase Shift Keying(QPSK), 16 Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (16QAM). The GI length is 800ns and the symbol length is 4000ns. In the simulation, a computer simulation was performed using a conventional OFDM communication system and a communication system generated by Autoencoder. Assuming that the simulation environment had an Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) of 0 to 30 and an amplitude r of 0.0 to 1.0, the Symbol Error Rate (SER) status for each SNR was output. As a result of computer simulation, QPSK converged at SNR 27 at IEEE 802.11a, but was able to reduce SER overwhelmingly to SNR 12 at IEEE 802.11n. Also, in 16QAM the convergence at r=0.0 is the same as for SNR22 , but in IEEE 802.11a it does not converge after r=0.6, but in IEEE 802.11n it does not converge only at r=0.9 and r=1.0. As a future task, it will use IEEE802.11ac, which enables communication speeds several times faster than IEEE802.11n, examine whether it is possible to further improve accuracy. And it will continue our research to correspond MIMO communication. © 2023 IEEE.

For Cardio-thoracic technology education program, the focus is on teaching pathophysiology, as well as the interpretation of electrocardiograms (ECG), through case studies. The curriculum includes instruction on treatment options and the use of electrophysiology studies (EP studies) for tachycardia and cardiac ablation. A portion of e-learning resources for ECGs and EP studies are delivered via web-based platforms. However, to date, there have been no e-learning platforms that combine instruction on pathological ECGs, EP study, cardiac ablation, or simulations of EP which would provide a more comprehensive learning experience for students. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to create the electrophysiology study simulator program (EPSSIM), which serves as an e-learning platform for EP studies and ECG. The development started with gathering information about ECG from the medical records of patients at a public hospital. MATLAB was used to generate synthetic heart signals. Microsoft Visual Studio 2019 was used to construct the EPSSIM program. A total of 47 cardio-thoracic technology students who used the program completed a pre-test and post-test and questionnaires. The effectiveness and satisfaction of the EPSSIM program were evaluated. The results showed that participants' scores improved, but the improvement was restricted due to the short time that the students were able to use the system. The participants who completed the satisfaction survey generally indicated satisfaction with the effectiveness of EPSSIM. Overall, the use of the application was beneficial and the application could be successfully used in future to enhance users knowledge. © 2023 IEEE.

Image classification has been instrumental in the interpretation and labeling of images in the field of remote sensing, computer vision, and in robotics applications. Machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms, particularly artificial neural networks, are extensively utilized for this purpose. In this work we propose the Expanded Latent Space Autoencoder (ELSA) with a case use application to classify land cover data. The main idea on the ELSA network structure is to utilize the latent spaces of multiple internal autoencoders in order to create an expanded latent space. This expanded latent space extracts more information from the input data, and serves as input features for a more simpler classifier network. In order to evaluate the proposed network's ability to extract features and classify complex and multispectral images we employed it to the EuroSAT dataset. The results demonstrate a remarkable capacity for feature extraction using the ELSA network, with lower complexity, trained with a reduced number of images. The classifier network achieved a final accuracy of 98.7%, matching or exceeding the performance of more complex state-of-the-art models.

This study focused on designing a motorcycle speed limiter using GPS with throttle modification. The study was brought about the increase in road accidents involving motorcycle vehicles tagged to be overspeeding and some not wearing helmets. The designed system focused on controlling the throttle of the motorcycle through a microcontroller and a GPS. Also, communication from the helmet to the motorcycle was established to complete the system functionality. The system does not allow the use of the said motorcycle once the rider does not wear the helmet prescribed for the said motorcycle. Speed control of the designed system relies solely upon the GPS, making it different from typical sensory for speed and PID algorithm applied in servo motor to control the throttle acceleration. The selected road stretch was assigned 30 kph,40kph, and 60 kph, respectively. Initial tests showed a responsive rate of all parameters of the helmet and LCD design. © 2021 IEEE.
