High intensity rain that happened in Padang city cause the happening of floods at DAS Arau. Floods that happened in Padang besides caused high rain intensity, require to be by research about morphometry that is cause parameter the happening of floods. Morphometry drainage basin physical network (DAS) quantitatively related to DAS geomorphology that is related to form of DAS, river network, closeness of stream, ramp, usage of farm, high and gradient steepness of river. Form DAS will influence rain concentration to outlet. Make an index to closeness of stream depict closeness of river stream at one particular DAS. Speed of river stream influenced by storey, level steepness of river. Steepness storey, level is comparison of difference height of river downstream and upstream. Ever greater of steepness of river stream, excelsior speed of river stream that way on the contrary. High to lower speed of river stream influence occurrence of floods, more than anything else if when influenced by debit big. Usage of farm in glove its link to process of infiltration where if geology type which is impermeable, be difficult the happening of infiltration, this matter will enlarge value of run off. Research by descriptive qualitative that is about characteristic of DAS. Method the used is method survey with data collecting, in the form of rainfall data of year 2005 until year 2015 and Image of DEM IFSAR with resolution 5 meter, analyzed use Software ARGIS. Result of research got by DAS reside in at condition of floods gristle.

County road pavement construction research is a descriptive study will provide a mathematical model and nomogram relationships between the length of road, types of pavement, and % GDP. The research found, firstly, that the independent variable Topography, Population, and accessibility that provide the highest contribution to Development Model Pavement Condition Based Regional District. The independent variable is the sub-criteria of the criteria regional conditions. AHP provides the weighting of criteria: technical criteria weighs approximately 10.0%, weighted criteria, regional conditions and criteria for economic conditions weighs approximately 46.6%, 43.3% respectively. Furthermore, the weighting is used to select the type of pavement using mathematical models. Secondly, the research produces nomogram showing the relationship Long Road to Road Pavement type and% GDP that may used by decision makers in the district in making decisions determining the type of pavement that will be selected based on local conditions.

In this study, using a new high volume blast furnace slag cement type C developed in order to improve the effect of inhibition of thermal crack in concrete and the resistance of thermal crack by means of expansion strain in early age obtained by appropriately selecting the dosage of gypsum and calcium carbonate, experiments to evaluate the material were carried out using the testing device in which it was possible to simulate the behavior of thermal stress inside the member in existing structure in the laboratory in order to evaluate the resistance of cracking of concrete. As the result, it was confirmed to have the resistance of crack in which concrete used the new high volume blast furnace slag cement type C was more superior to concrete using Ordinary Portland cement and Portland blast furnace slag type B on the cracking time and stress at cracking. Furthermore, it was also confirmed to the effect of stress relaxation caused by creep in which concrete used the new high volume blast furnace slag cement type C was more superior to the above concrete. © 2016 International Committee of the SCMT conferences. A genomic database of all Earth’s eukaryotic species could contribute to many scientific discoveries;however, only a tiny fraction of species have genomic information available. In 2018, scientists across the world united under the Earth BioGenome Project (EBP), aiming to produce a database of highquality reference genomes containing all ~1.5 million recognized eukaryotic species. As the European node of the EBP, the European Reference Genome Atlas (ERGA) sought to implement a new decentralised, equitable and inclusive model for producing reference genomes. For this, ERGA launched a Pilot Project establishing the first distributed reference genome production infrastructure and testing it on 98 eukaryotic species from 33 European countries. Here we outline the infrastructure and explore its effectiveness for scaling high-quality reference genome production, whilst considering equity and inclusion. The outcomes and lessons learned provide a solid foundation for ERGA while offering key learnings to other transnational, national genomic resource projects and the EBP. © The Author(s) 2024, corrected publication 2024.

A simple discrete version of B-splines is proposed. The proposed discrete version has different values from B-splines at the discrete points, but it is proven that the proposed discrete version tends to B-splines when the sampling interval goes to zero. Traffic flow and building parameters are analysed jointly to identify urban noise tendencies. For this purpose, the building parameter applied is the Floor Space Index (FSI). Acoustical and traffic flow data were collected and incorporated into a Geographical Information System (GIS). The fu-ture scenarios for this zone were created. For the FSI parameter, it was ver-ified that the higher the value of the average FSI, the higher the noise lev-els registered in urban canyons.

The quality of the engagement between Work-based Learning (WBL) stakeholder is an important issue that arises and that a stakeholder integrated approach is required to improve program implementation. This paper examines the literature of stakeholder perspective on WBL to enhance the capacity of engagement of WBL program. This paper investigated the perspective of the three key stakeholder, industry, students and the higher education. Conclusions are drawn and suggestions are made for further research in the WBL engagement.

In this paper, we applied CSMA (Carrier Sense Multiple Access) with infrared communication on leader-follower robot system via hierarchical communication. We define a simple protocol for communication between robots in the system. A home security system with many security modules installed in a house and a group of leader-follower mobile robots in charge of patrolling and monitoring was simulated for the communication. When fire or any accident happens, the leader robot will command the follower robots to the location.

From Dissemination to Propagation: A New Paradigm for Education Developers

His research interests include sustained adoption of improvements in learning and teaching systematic reviews in engineering education evaluation of faculty campus climates and assessment of complex learning outcomes. Charles Henderson is a Professor at Western Michigan University with a joint appointment between the Department of Physics and the Mallinson Institute for Science Education. His research focuses on promoting productive changes in higher education at the individual department institution and national levels. Renée S. Cole is an Associate Professor of Chemistry at the University of Iowa. She teaches introductory and advanced courses in chemistry and runs a research program focused on the design and assessment of instructional materials and teaching strategies and faculty professional development. Debra Friedrichsen founded and operates a small consulting company. She received her Ph.D. from Oregon State University in Chemical Engineering with a dissertation focused on engineering education. Debra also has a MBA a MS and a patent for sensor development. Raina Khatri is a doctoral student in the Mallinson Institute for Science Education at Western Michigan University. Her research focus is understanding how education developers in STEM can promote sustained adoption of their innovations. Courtney Stanford is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Chemistry at Virginia Commonwealth University. Her current research focuses on the identification development and assessment of process skills (also known as professional skills) in active learning undergraduate STEM classrooms.

Scholarly studies and national reports document failure of current efforts to achieve broad, sustained adoption of research-based instructional practices, despite compelling bodies of evidence supporting efficacy of many of these practices. The authors of this paper argue that many change agents who are working to promote systemic adoption of these teaching practices use approaches that are characterized by what the authors call the "dissemination paradigm." A dissemination paradigm characterizes patterns of these current, failing efforts. Change agents, working within the dissemination paradigm, try to convince adopters that their innovations can help their students. Efforts within the dissemination paradigm have not led, and are unlikely to lead, to systemic adoption. The authors offer the "propagation paradigm" as an alternative with the potential to produce improved results. Change agents, working within the propagation paradigm, engage with adopters early and often to understand their instructional systems and interactively develop a strong product adaptable to specific contexts.
