The effect of dynamic soil-structure interaction is really important to be examined. Moreover if the structure is nuclear power structure or multi-storey structure. In solving the dynamic problem caused by dynamic mass on the soil-structure and interaction, it will use wavelet transform. This study aims to examine the dynamic soil-structure interaction using ITM-FEM approach. In this study, soil is considered as a semi-infinite media in z-direction with unbounded domain in x-direction. The characteristic of material is considered as an isotropic, homogenous, and linear elastic material, and the material damping seems not dependent on the frequency. The dynamic soil-structure interaction using ITM-FEM approach is conducted by counting dynamic stiffness matrix { D^FE }, space truss, hexahedron solid coupling element between FEM and ITM.

Received his Dr. of Eng. degree in 1992 from Kyushu University. Since then he has been a Research Associate in the Department of Electrical Engineering Kyushu Institute of Technology. He is engaged in research mainly in system identification and related genetic algorithms neural networks wavelet analysis and control of magnetic levitation systems etc. He is a member of the Institute of Systems Control and Information Engineers Society of Instrument and Control Engineers and Robotics Society of Japan. Received his Dr. of Eng. degree in 1968 from Kyushu University. In 1968 he became a Lecturer in 1971 an Associate Professor and since 1982 a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering Kyushu Institute of Technology. He was Visiting Researcher at the University of Minnesota under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Education from 1986 to 1987. This paper proposes a new kind of on-line identification method of continuous time-delay systems from sampled input-output data. In order to track the time-varying system parameters as well as time-delay, the recursive linear least squares (RLS) method is combined in a bootstrap manner with the genetic algorithm (GA) which has a high potential for global optimization. The time-delay is coded into binary bit strings and searched by the GA, while the system parameters are updated by the RLS method. Furthermore, this method (GALS method) is hybridized with the sequential nonlinear least squares method to improve the speed of convergence. Simulation results show that both the GALS and hybrid methods are efficient in the case that the system changes abruptly, and among them the hybrid method has superior convergence property to the GALs method and yields excellent estimation results in the case that the system changes with time continuously.

Background: Wound healing is a complex and dynamic process involving the replacement of devitalized and missing cellular structures and tissue layers. Methods: This study involved developing a drug-loaded biomimetic micropillar wound dressing based upon inspiration from witnessing the adhesive ability in a gecko's footpad. The conformal adhesion was set up by applying a soft elastomer thin film on the developed wound dressing surfaces. The results showed that the developed surfaces prepared based on polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) had low surface free energy, high chemical stability, and good plasticity. Astaxanthin (AST) and curcumin were applied as the patch's bioactive compounds to help accelerate the wound healing process. Results: The results showed that the developed surfaces prepared based on polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) had low surface free energy, high chemical stability, and good plasticity. The results indicate that the developed biomimetic micropillar patches could release the loaded drugs and significantly increase cell viability and collagen content to 20 % ∼ 25 % in vitro and in vivo. Conclusion: In summation, the primary purpose of this study has been to design a novel encapsulated carrier (micropillar patch) for use in adjustable drug release, while combining with the biomimetic microstructure to reach wound healing through percutaneous absorption. © 2024 Taiwan Institute of Chemical Engineers

There are two types of floods in Jakarta: upstream flooding and local flooding. In general, floods in DKI Jakarta are caused by local floods. The main cause of this flood is the occurrence of high rainfall, poor drainage system, and land subsidence. This study will analyse the local flood that occurred in Gunung Sahari, Central Jakarta. Judging from the existing conditions, sedimentation occurs in the drainage channels. This sedimentation causes a reduction in the existing channel capacity. Based on a hydrological and channel capacity analysis, the existing drainage channels are designed based on annual rainfall i.e. return period 1-2 years, which is 133.10 mm/day. Flood modelling is done for existing conditions. Based on the results of modelling, floods that occur in locations between 50 cm - 100 cm. Due to dense housing conditions, widening and normalizing the channel is difficult. Therefore, flood reduction will be assisted by pumps. The pump will be installed in the downstream of the main drain, which is connected to Mati River. This pump is designed with a capacity of 0.5 m3 / sec. Based on the results of modelling, with a largest pump capacity of 0.5 m3/sec, flooding is only reduced by 5 cm - 7 cm. Due to the lack of effectiveness of the pump, retention ponds will be designed to reduce surface runoff. Retention ponds are designed with an area of 1 ha and a depth of 1.5 m. Modelling is done in the presence of a retention pond. With the addition of retention ponds, annual flooding for the 2-year return period on Gunung Sahari could be reduced. Therefore, the discharge that will be received by the drainage channel will be smaller than the capacity of the channel itself and the flood will be completely reduced.

This research to quantify the impact of social-economic as parts of the execution of the errands and elements of the Lake Toba Authority Implementing Agency (BPODT), particularly for regency around Lake Toba (Simalungun Regency, Toba Samosir Regency, North Tapanuli Regency, Humbang Hasundutan Regency, Dairi Regency, Karo Regency, and Regency Samosir). The data contained in the current research has been gathered from both essential and optional information sources; starter information included traveler area information and overview information of the locale. The social and monetary effect is taken with the Human Development Index (HDI) and Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) around the Lake Toba region utilizing auxiliary information. The research was done with five years of non-spatial information gathered from BPS Publication Data for each District. Changes in HDI and GRDP esteems in managerial regions around Lake Toba previously, after BPODT shaped. The result showed that if it was associated with the authority that deals with the Lake Toba region, it could officially increment the HDI in 7 areas within the Lake Toba region. This matter addresses the public authority’s efforts to focus on the Lake Toba Tourism Area Management to develop local area government assistance further.

Mangrove ecosystems are resources of landscapes, flora, fauna, and local communities that interact with each other. Mangrove ecosystems have important ecological, economic and social functions for coastal development. Conservation is a means of involving the community in mangrove recovery and management activities as a preservation effort. This paper examines the potential of mangrove ecosystems in the southern coast of Bangkalan as a conservation area. The fact, mangrove ecosystems have a pressure that decreased area significantly. Data collection used the quadratic transect method and satellite image analysis. Mangroves on the southern coast of Bangkalan have increased area over the past 10 years. Mangrove vegetation found consisted of 4 families and 8 species. There are also found fauna i.e. insects, snakes, primates and birds. The observations indicated that conservation of mangrove forests on the southern coast of Bangkalan needs to be done. This effort can be supported by ecotourism activities which are expected to improve the community welfare.

Recently, there has been a growing interest in artificial skin on hydrogels as a potential alternative for animal testing to evaluate the efficacy and safety of new drugs or cosmetics. Synthetic polymers have been widely used due to their superior physicochemical properties. However, synthetic polymers such as polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) are limited by their poor biocompatibility and cell adhesion. Combining synthetic and natural polymers can improve these properties. Therefore, in this study, we aimed to investigate the effect of alginate and chitosan addition to PVA-based hydrogels on protein adsorption, cell viability and cell attachment. The addition of chitosan decreased protein adsorption, which was caused by the changes in electrostatic charge by PVA-chitosan interaction and changes in surface roughness. Primary human fibroblast cells cultured on PVA, PVA-alginate and PVA-chitosan had >80% viability which indicates the cytocompatibility of the hydrogels. More importantly, alginate and chitosan also improved the cell attachment on the PVA-based hydrogels. Taken together, the addition of both alginate and chitosan has the potential to improve PVA-based hydrogels for artificial skin application.

Currently, Banda Aceh has been dealing with several problems related to pollution caused by domestic wastewater. According to previous studies, shallow groundwater and surface water in Banda Aceh have been contaminated by domestic wastewater produced by the community. The settlement scale off-site system with communal-WWTP operating in several villages has not function optimally in treating domestic wastewater. The problem also caused by service coverage which is still very small (only 2.12% of the total population). Therefore, it is require an acceleration of service improvement, by developing urban scale off-site system with centralized-WWTP and a wider pipe line network system. Moreover, further investigations are needed to develop the concept of planning as a preliminary design in the management of urban scale off-site system. This paper aims to develop a concept of domestic wastewater management using an urban scale off-site system that considers environmental characteristics in Banda Aceh as an alternative to mitigate the occurrence of water body pollution by domestic wastewater.

Climate change can cause an increase in the earth's surface temperature and atmospheric CO2. This has an impact on the tourism area based on local agricultural wisdom. The research aims to analyze the level of tourism vulnerability management and formulate tourism vulnerability management strategies to support local wisdom preservation in current farming practices. The method used is mapping, field observations, and interviews with two approaches, namely quantitative content analysis and qualitative content analysis. The results showed that the farming community was only profit-oriented without paying attention to balancing and preserving the natural environment. Most farmers want all agricultural processes to be done instantly or quickly, with higher yields. However, they leave local wisdom values and socio-cultural contexts in managing the rice field environment. One of the components of local wisdom that can still be maintained is the cropping pattern primarily found in the highlands that can still be found. To manage the vulnerability of tourism to support the preservation of local wisdom in current agricultural practices.
