Garbage problem is often very complex in urban areas. The handling pattern of collecting, transporting and disposing that has been applied up to this day has not yet produced an appropriate solution. This is evident from the data of statistic centre institution in 2015 that 76.31% of the existing waste in the community has not been sorted, while 10.28% sorted to be used and 13.41% sorted to be discarded, showing the community amount of unsorted garbage large enough to necessitate managerial efforts at the waste sources. In designing a systematic and structured waste management system, the generations, compositions, and characteristics of the waste are indispensable. Therefore, a research is conducted on these three dimensions to the non-domestic waste in Semarang City, which involves commercial waste (from the markets, restaurants, and hotels), institutional waste (from the offices and schools). From the research result the average of 0,24kgs/person/day in weight unit of the City's non-domestical waste generation is derived. The waste composition is dominated by organic waste of around 61.95%, while the rest percentage is inorganic. The management policy is directed with the application of Management Information System model based on Information Technology because of the system's abilities to effectuate the waste management. © 2018 The Authors, published by EDP Sciences.

This research discusses the application of the hyperbolic tangent model for an outer bypass MR damper with a meandering valve, which was developed by one of the authors. The hyperbolic tangent model consists of six parameters. In this study, parameter reduction was carried out using local and global sensitivity analysis, and a parameter identification strategy based on Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) was employed. The objective function is the relative error between the model's force and the force obtained from experiments with an outer bypass MR damper prototype featuring a meandering valve. The sensitivity analysis identifies an optimal hyperbolic tangent model with two sensitive parameters, while the remaining parameters are determined to be constant. The results show an improvement in accuracy, with the optimal hyperbolic tangent model reducing the error from 8.06 % to 7.1 %. This indicates that the optimal hyperbolic tangent model can be obtained by applying the sensitivity analysis method developed in this research. © 2024 IEEE.

Good power quality and high-power efficiency are important aspects of power system management. Harmonic, as an unwanted frequency component in electrical signals, can interfere with power quality and reduce electrical efficiency. A passive harmonic filter is a device used to reduce or filter harmonics in electrical power systems. This research proposes technology Internet of Things with an automatic control system that moves the step filter to solve the harmonic problem, with the aim of improving the quality of power and electrical efficiency. The step filter functions to identify and isolate the harmonic, thus enabling appropriate controls to suppress the impact of the harmonic. The proposed system uses sophisticated control algorithms using sensors that can read current, voltage, frequency, and power factor to adjust the step filter parameters dynamically, following changes in load conditions and harmonizing. Simulation of the control network using the proteus software is subsequently undertaken in further research to design the control device. Using an automatic control set in the control simulation results reduced the need for manual intervention and let the system adjust the step filter automatically in response to changing network conditions. This showed that this method worked to lower harmonic distortion, increases the power factor through the filter used, and make the system more energy efficient overall. The study emphasizes the importance of applying sophisticated control strategies to manage harmonics efficiently, which ultimately paves the way to a cleaner and more reliable power grid. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Pempek is a traditional ethnic food originated from Palembang, South Sumatra, Indonesia. Currently, there is not exist any profiles which could be used as a determining factor for quality, originality, and ethnicity of pempek. The objective of this research was to obtain the chemical profile of pempek as a determining factor of quality, originality and ethnicity. The samples were collected from the ten famous branded vendors in Palembang. The fish used in making pempek of the samples are snake head fish, Spanish mackerel, and the mix of snake head and Spanish mackerel. The type of pempek used in this experiment was steamed cook pempek lenjer (cylindrical) type. The analysis was performed at a KAN accredited laboratory. It was found that the energy content of pempek used in this experiment was in the range of 125 to 160 kkal/100 g sample and all the pempek used had a 0% of fat. All pempek used had 17 types of amino acid, and all of them had an essential amino acid. The significant finding was that the concentration of glutamic acid was 200% of the concentration of common concentration which indicated that all the vendors used artificial mono-sodium glutamate to improve the taste of pempek. It was concluded that the chemical profile found on this research could be used as database for creating a standard of identity of pempek. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Device-to-device communication (D2D) is a promising technology for future mobile networks that allow users to communicate directly without using the cellular system's infrastructure. However, since the battery power of each mobile device is limited, it is necessary to extend the network life by reducing its energy consumption. Clustering-based protocols could reduce the energy consumption by balancing all nodes into cluster heads (CH). This paper implements the recent hierarchical routing based on the Low Energy Adaptive Hierarchical Clustering (LEACH) protocol for a CH selection to increase device lifetime in cooperative D2D communication systems. First, the CH is selected based on each device's distance and the residual energy. Then, the LEACH protocol is implemented to choose CH in the D2D cooperative communication system to reduce energy consumption and increase the network life and aims to increase the reliability of the cooperative D2D communication system. Moreover, the proposed system model is provided to analyze cluster formation and energy consumption using computer simulation. The simulation results show that implementing the LEACH protocol can increase network life by knowing the number of dead devices and reducing energy consumption in cooperative D2D communication systems. © 2021 IEEE.

The occurrence of spatial and road network changes, increased traffic volume approaching road capacity, causing congestion due to urban sprawl phenomena as well as lack of public facilities and social facilities. From this background problem considered to be solved by a concept that is Transit Oriented Development (TOD), concept of transportation development in co-operation with spatial. The TOD concept can eliminate urban sprawl, which transforms urban sprawl into a compact city area. Pull model are obtained from the results of the analysis is, Oi = -37,126 + 58,723 X9 + 17,968X2, where road performance, land use, the coefficient indicates the number of additional trip generation. Trips pull obtained by model Dd = -20,351 + 30,903X2 where only one significant variable causing attraction of land use that is dominant. With concept of TOD, the model obtained is Oi = 32.180 + 0.002X7-7.017X3 where travel and distance travel costs indicate the number of additional trips generation, the generation will decrease over the base year. Objects obtained with the model Dd = 48.474-0.671X11 + 0, 003X7-9,299X3, meaning travel attraction in the absence of population density, travel expenses, and travel distance, then travel appeal that occurs on 48 journeys influenced by variable population density and distance travel will decrease, it can be interpreted this independent variables can influence the drag on the concept of Banda Aceh City and TOD can be applied in the city of Banda Aceh. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Medical record data are an essential part of medicine, but the effective use of data has become difficult due to the rapid increase in data. Determining the selected features allows researchers to extract the information from medical data. Feature selection in classification provides the advantage of reduced time and storage. In addition, feature selection methods can improve performance by removing redundant or irrelevant data based on their weights. The benefits of feature selection are that it speeds up the training time, simplifies the model, makes interpretation easier, and improves generalization by reducing overfitting. Feature selection in this research uses two methods: Binary Whale Optimization (BWOA), Particle Swarm Optimization, and Hybrid with Gray Wolf Optimization (PSOGWO). Two feature selection methods were compared to determine the most optimal method for the classification process. A comparison of the two feature selection methods shows that the classification process with many attributes produces an optimal classification process, where the number of representative variables in the breast cancer dataset in the BWOA method has five features, and the PSOGWO method has 11 attributes. Meanwhile, the highest accuracy results in breast cancer classification using the BWOA average of 95.90% and PSOGWO Method average of 97.64% © 2023 IEEE.

UT transform is the core step of unscented kalman filter (UKF) algorithm. The Sigma sampling type of UT transform has great influence on the computational complexity, state estimation accuracy and computational efficiency of UKF-based terrain matching algorithm. In order to obtain the high precision terrain matching method which is suitable for engineering application, the Comparative analysis of three kinds of UKF-based terrain matching algorithms was carried out in this paper. Firstly, the UKF-based underwater terrain matching model was given. Secondly, the principle and the performance characteristics of scaled sampling method, Cubature sampling method, Gauss- Hermite sampling methods were analyzed. The filtering precision factors of symmetric unscented Kalman filter(SUKF), Cubature unscented Kalman filter(CKF), Gauss-Hermite Kalman Filter(GHKF) was studied from the algorithm principle, Thirdly, The computer simulation was performed using univariate nonstationary growth model(UNGM) to test the previous analysis conclusions. Finally underwater terrain matching simulation model was established, and the comparative analysis of matching acuraccy was carried out based on SITAN, SUKF, CKF and GHKF, the matching effect of underwater terrain matching algorithm is obtained. The simulation results show that the UKF algorithm based on symmetric sampling strategy has better filtering precision and less computational complexity which is suitable for the filtering core of underwater terrain matching algorithm. © 2019 Association for Computing Machinery.

A treatment consisting of resistance heat treatment and artificial aging was developed to improve the product strength and press formability of Al-Mg-Si alloy sheets having paint bake hardenability used for automobile body panels. In this treatment, the sheets are re-solution heat-treated by resistance heating and water quenching just before the press forming. The formed sheets are artificially aged just after the press forming to increase the product strength. In the experiment, Al-0.60%Si-0.74%Mg (A6061) alloy sheets were chosen. The solution heat treatment of the sheets was sufficiently accomplished by the rapid resistance heat treatment, and the press formability of the sheets was improved. The hardness of formed products is increased by the artificial aging and paint bake hardening. It was found that the present heat treatment is effective in improving the product strength and press formability of the Al-Mg-Si alloy sheets having the paint bake hardenability.

Population growth and water quality in the foothills of Jefferson County are of concern to County's Board of County Commissioners and the Planning and Zoning Department. The Department desires to meet the needs of residents for adequate supplies of good quality water. The Turkey Creek watershed is representative of the foothills portions of Jefferson County. In 2001 population in the Turkey Creek watershed is estimated at 11,064 residents with projected population growth, using a 2-percent per year rate, at 13,186 residents in 2010, and 15,313 residents in 2020. Wtershed based non-point source (NPS) studies have usually ignored the impact of on-site septic systems (OWS) on the quality of surface water. However, OWS can be a substantial source of nutrients to surface waters. Point discharges from Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTPs) can also contribute to stream pollution from nutrients if treatment efficiency at the WWTP is low. Several models can handle point source discharges from WWTPs. Evaluating nutrient loading from septic systems to streams is a challenging task because most NPS models are not specifically developed to track the fate and transport of nutrients from on-site systems. The Watershed Analysis Risk Management Framework (WARMF) model is adapted to simulate on-site septic systems loading. The 122.2 square-kilometer Turkey Creek watershed is located in Jefferson County, southwest of Denver, Colorado. The topography is mostly steep with elevations ranging from about 1800 m to 3200 m. WARMF model hydrologic calibration was performed using data from the gage station located at Turkey Creek at mouth of canyon near Morrison. Water-quality data collected during flow calibration period was used to guide water quality calibration. The base case scenario is established at year 2001. The scenarios in this study are population at 1990 and projected population at year 2010. The scenario runs will also provide the contributions of different water treatment options
