The problem that is often faced in a road construction is a soil subgrade (soft soil). If the subgrade has a low bearing capacity, causing the soil to decrease greatly, so the road construction will quickly be damaged. Method to overcome the problem is bio stabilization with bacteria utilization. The purpose of this research is to know the bearing capacity improvement of soft soil as subgrade layer with bacteria solution of bacillus subtilis. Tests include soil physical and mechanical properties, compaction parameters and CBR tests. This test is based on ASTM for each test. Variations in addition of bacterial solution were 2%, 4%, 6%, 8% and 10% of dry soil weight with 7 days curing time. The results showed that the maximum value of CBR of soft soil was found at 39% on 6% bacterial solution. Increased CBR value from 2.8% to 39% or 13 times than untreated soil. This shows the use of bacterial concentration solution on soft soil significantly increases the bearing capacity. © 2018 The Authors, published by EDP Sciences.

AIS (Automatic Identification System) data is an important data source in the shipping and logistics industry to track and monitor ships in real-time. Extraction of transshipment features from AIS data is essential in understanding the pattern and characteristics of transshipment activity at a particular port or place. This study discusses an efficient AIS data preprocessing framework to prepare the transshipment feature extraction. The preprocessing steps include data collection, data cleansing, trajectory extraction, trajectory cleaning, and overlapping trajectory extraction. One of the crucial approaches used in this study is the application of parallel computing. Parallel computing allows us to execute independent data processing tasks at the same time simultaneously. In AIS data preprocessing, the parallel approach allows us to clean, populate, and process data from many vessels in less time. To test the applicability, we created a final comparison for different types of ships based on its AIS data for Indonesia from November 2022 to April 2023. Using parallel computing to process AIS data makes data processing more efficient, especially for large and complex AIS data. This efficiency accelerates data preparation before transshipment feature extraction. The results show that the framework can accelerate runtime and improve trajectory quality. © 2023 IEEE.

We propose a new statistical modeling method to analyze functional relationship between predictor variables and correlated response variables, and apply it for modeling the number of HIV and AIDS cases influenced by early-age marriages and contraceptive users. The proposed method is LS-Spline BNNBR that is a Biresponse Nonparametric Negative Binomial Regression (BNNBR) based on least squares spline (LS-Spline). To validate the proposed method, we compare it with classical method, namely Ordinary Least Square Biresponse Parametric Negative Binomial Regression (OLS-BPNBR). The results show that the LS-Spline BNNBR method provided deviance value of 7.542334 which is smaller than that of OLS-BPNBR method, namely 7.993935. Thus, the proposed method has better prediction fit than the classical method. • This study discusses new statistical modeling method for the number of HIV and AIDS cases influenced by early-age marriages and contraceptive users where the response variables are correlated with each other. • The model estimation results show that the number of HIV and AIDS cases in Indonesia will decrease if the early-age marriages percentage increases and the contraceptive users percentage decreases. • The results are useful to provide a scientific basis for making policies to control the number of HIV and AIDS cases in Indonesia. © 2025 The Authors

Membrane technology is pivotal in addressing global water scarcity; however, issues such as membrane fouling and chemical degradation significantly hinder its operational efficiency and longevity. This study investigates the use of eco-friendly green silica derived from natural kaolin as an additive to enhance the performance of polyethersulfone (PES) membranes fabricated via the phase inversion method. Seven membrane compositions were developed, incorporating varying concentrations of both green silica and commercial silica, to allow a direct performance comparison. The membranes were systematically characterized for hydrophilicity, porosity, pore size distribution, and mechanical stability, while their filtration performance was evaluated in terms of water flux, humic acid (HA) rejection, fouling resistance, and chemical *** findings revealed that green silica enhanced membrane hydrophilicity and porosity at optimal concentrations, leading to improved fouling resistance and cleaning efficiency. Notably, the membrane containing 1% green silica (M-K3) exhibited a high HA rejection rate of 98.37% with a moderate water flux of 10.85 L/m²·h, balancing selectivity and permeability. In contrast, membranes containing 1% commercial silica (M-S3) showed higher water flux (86.83 L/m²·h) but lower HA rejection (73.75%), highlighting a trade-off. Green silica-modified membranes also demonstrated superior chemical stability, maintaining consistent performance under extended filtration and exposure to cleaning agents. These results underscore the potential of kaolin-derived green silica as a cost-effective, sustainable, and high-performance alternative to commercial additives in water treatment membranes.

The proposed smart system namely VidyaMedic utilizes continuous heart rate monitoring through sensors, with data transmission to the cloud via an IoT platform. Testing was conducted on a 40-year-old male participant who wore the Polar H10 heart rate monitor for 24 days. The heart rate profile captures the circadian rhythm, the natural internal biological clock governing cardiovascular and behavioral processes over a 24-hour cycle, influencing morning, daytime, and nighttime activities. Health conditions can be assessed using an algorithm which calculates the running sum of standard deviation for heart rate data over this period. Initially, standard deviation is computed for each data point, quantifying data dispersion from the mean. Subsequently, the running sum of standard deviation enables the detection of significant changes over time, abrupt fluctuations indicate outliers or extreme values, potentially impacting overall standard deviation and signaling significant data changes. Deviations from the expected or previous standard deviation values, marked by a regression coefficient less than or greater than 1, may suggest cardiac abnormalities or heart rhythm disturbances. © 2023 IEEE.

The wise use of insulation materials in buildings not only reduces energy consumption but also reduces greenhouse gas emissions and increases the thermal comfort of the room. Oil palm wood fiber and ramie fiber have great potential as a basis for the thermal insulation bio board. The thermal stability of the base material is essential to study. The purpose of this study was to analyze the thermal characteristics of oil palm wood and ramie fiber as raw material for the thermal insulation bio board. Thermal characteristics were tested by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Oil palm wood fiber and ramie fiber as the base material get treatment before being tested. Oil palm wood fiber is immersed in 120 ℃ hot water for 30 and ramie fiber in 5% NaOH solution at the same time. The results of the TGA analysis show that the thermal stability of OPW fibers with treatment is better, 248 ℃ than the OPW without treatment at 235 ℃. Likewise, ramie fiber with 5% NaOH mixture has better thermal stability, 280 ℃ than untreated ramie fiber, which produces a peak temperature of 272 ℃. DSC analysis showed that the maximum temperature peaks occurred at 409 ℃ and 408 ℃ for OPW and hemp fiber treated, respectively. The thermal stability of fibers will increase with pretreatment compared to untreated fibers. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

In this study, silica extraction from RHA (rice husk ash) has been successfully performed by alkaline using KOH and NaOH with sol-gel precipitation. The silica gel was characterized for the functional group by FTIR, crystallinity with XRD, structure silica with SEM and particle size with PSA. The results show the higher concentration of solvent led to higher silica. The FTIR analysis revealed vibrations of Si-O and Si-O-Si on the product. Additionally, observed to be amorphous and aggregated, the silica extracted from RHA also exhibited a decrease in all samples. © 2023 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Microalgae are widely used in the pharmaceutical and energy industries,therefore the conditions for their cultivation and extraction methods play an important role in the profiling and acquisition of *** efficiency of lipid extraction from microalgae has attracted great interest from industry because of the wide variety of lipids and amounts that can be *** obliquus(Scenedesmus obliquus UTEX 393)was used in this *** was cultivated in Bold 3N medium modified with 75%nitrogen at 25℃,pH 6.8,125 r/min and a photoperiod of 18/6 h and illuminated with white light provided by a Light-Emitting Diode Surface Mount Device extensions(LED SMD)with an intensity of 1200μE/(m^(2)·s).The cells were stained with the Red Nile(RN)technique to indicate lipid *** extraction methods were compared,classical,microwave(MW),Soxhlet,and ultrasound(US),using the same solvent proportions(hexane:chloroform:methanol=1:2:3).All samples were analyzed with Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy(FTIR)and Gas Chromatography coupled to Mass Spectrometry(GC-MS).The results showed:1)lipid production detected by RN was consistent with microalgal growth;2)the MW technique was the best extraction method,according to the statistical analysis through Randomized Complete Block(RCB)design and performance of 4.6%;and 3)the presence of saturated and unsaturated acids was indicated by FTIR ***-MS was able to identify palmitic and linoleic acids as the likely major constituents of the sample.

Public infrastructure development in Indonesia is an integral part of the national development planning system, and the government attempts to ensure the process is done rigorously to fulfil the system's objectives. Part of public infrastructure is roads, and the utilities that are installed nearby. The development of utilities in and adjacent to the public right of way in Indonesia involves of various stakeholders that should be managed properly to avoid unnecessary interface problems. Those stakeholders include government agencies, community groups, private enterprises, and state or regional owned enterprises. The interaction between stakeholders of utilities in and adjacent to the public right of way should be identified clearly, and for sustainability objective, an identification of the process and interaction first should be done in the low level of the government i.e. district area. This paper is a preliminary study of a research about stakeholders' interaction structure in Indonesia's district public infrastructure development process. This paper focuses on utilities that installed in and adjacent to the district's road in Indonesia. The purpose of this paper is to explain the interaction framework of stakeholders involved, and the methods that are used to describe the relationship. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The purpose of this paper is to suggest new 3-D N-link system movement simulator. Previous presented method used to "Jacobian" matrix for connecting between the work space coordination and the angle state space for representing the whole N-link system. But this system has difficulties for simulating the whole dynamics of the general N-link system from the side of computational cost and the precision of the calculations. The major reasons depend on the fundamental principle of conversion equivalence between the work space coordination q&rarr, and the angle state space x &rarr this principle assure that we can change the work space coordinate into the angle state space coordinate which is convenient for the calculation, but this conversion have singularity - that is, there is no inverse matrix of "J". In addition, there is accumulation of calculation error when it follows from the link root to link end in the case of calculating the multi-joint link movement dynamics, and the problem of treating the external force into the angular space dynamics. In this study, we consider the N-link system as N-particle movement system. And each of the particles is connected by a kind of spring damper model in imitation of a link. Because of this, our proposed method has no coordinate conversion between work space and angular space in the dynamics simulation. And by the way of introducing some dynamics restriction, we can construct many of joint features such as fixed joint or single revolute joint, spherical link and so on. And we confirmed the 3D N-link system performance through some dynamics simulation such as walking, this simulator shows good accuracy and computational cost performances comparing previous proposed N-link system simulator.
