As different underwater terrain features will affect the accuracy of unscented Kalman filter terrain matching algorithm, a new terrain self-adaptive matching method is proposed which adjusts sigma point distribution by terrain features. The connection between sigma point distribution distance and three basic terrain features were analysed. Positioning error range were calculated using navigation positioning errors and underwater digital map. Terrain elevation standard deviation was used to characterize the information quantity of decision region. Scaling parameter was adjusted using linear mapping method and sigma point distribution distance was determined by terrain features. The simulation results proved better terrain adaptability and positioning precision of improved self-adaptive matching algorithm. © 2019 IOP Publishing Ltd. All rights reserved.

Paddy is a rice-producing plant as a staple food raw material for most of the population in Indonesia. The rice planting process cannot be separated from pests and diseases that can cause crop failure and impact on rice production stocks. Currently, the process of monitoring the development of rice plants is done conventionally by direct observation by farmers. Meanwhile, in this paper, a classification model and determination of object detection in rice plants infected with pests and diseases is proposed based on leaf color. Leaf classification applies convolution conditional network algorithm with mobilenet as the architecture. The leaf image dataset was taken from public data from *** by involving 4 classes, namely healthy leaf images, brownspot, hispa and leafblast images. In each class the leaf images are grouped into 2 groups, namely 70% training and 30% validation. On the mobilenet backbone, it produces 97% accuracy and 22% loss with the time required for 195s 19s/step in 1 epoch round. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper aims at proposing and comparing two fuzzy models and a statistical model for clustering based on L1-space. Clustering methods in the fuzzy models are the standard fuzzy c-means and an entropy regularization method based on L1-space. Furthermore, we add new variables to them for improving the cluster division. In the statistical model, a mixture distribution model based on L1-space is proposed and the EM algorithm is applied. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2001.

Aceh Province over the last 20 years has experienced different events that can be divided into 3 (three) phases. 1st Phase is the phase of the conflict (2000-2004), 2nd Phase is the post-earthquake and tsunami rehabilitation and reconstruction phase of Aceh (2005-2009), and 3rd Phase is the post-rehabilitation and reconstruction phase (2010-present). Events that occurred during the last 20 years are certainly likely to provide risks to community activities in the province of Aceh. One of the activities affected by the event is the construction project work. The implementation of construction works affected by events in Aceh Province over the last 20 years is highly vulnerable to risks that impact on achieving project objectives such as cost and time. This study analyzes the impact of the contractor and operational managerial risk factors on the cost and timing of construction. Data were obtained from questionnaires distributed to 15 large qualification companies in Aceh Province. Testing data is done by using the validity test and reliability test. Data that has been valid and reliable then analyzed by using Severity Index (SI). The variables of a managerial risk factor with SI to the highest cost in 1st Phase are F5 (incompetent Engineer), 2nd Phase is F3 (lack of contractor experience), and 3rd Phase is F5 (incompetent Engineer). From the operational risk factor, the highest cost SI in each phase is the G3 variable (electrical disorder). The managerial risk factors with the highest time SI in 1st Phase are F6 (lack of top management support), 2nd Phase is F5 (incompetent engineer), and in 3rd Phase is F3 (lack of contractor experience ). From the operational risk factor, the highest time SI at each phase is G3 (electrical disorder). © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The effect of pre-existing dislocations and interstitial carbon on the initiation of plastic deformation in interstitial free (IF) steel and ultra low carbon (ULC) steel were investigated by the nanoindentation technique. The critical load, Pc, of the pop-in phenomenon, which corresponds to plasticity initiation, appeared clearly on the loading curve. The Pc in high dislocation density materials was smaller than that in low dislocation density materials with no difference between IF and ULC while the Pc in low dislocation density materials was remarkably higher in ULC than in IF. These results indicate that the interstitial carbon in the matrix does not affect the pop-in phenomenon when there are pre-existing dislocations or dislocation sources, and we discuss the reason for their occurrence occurs in high dislocation density materials. © 2012 The Japan Institute of Metals.

This study is dedicated to a critical investigation of the existing approaches toward a data visualization management platform based on Fast Health Interoperability Resources (FHIR). Despite the growing popularity of FHIR, the available evidence provides a compelling reason to believe that its use is still accompanied by a significant number of technical challenges. Therefore, the development of tools to ensure its convenient visualization remains a pressing need for a variety of stakeholders operating in the healthcare industry. Results of the systematic literature review that included 26 studies provide valuable information about the most popular instruments in this area, such as the OpenEHR CKM approach. The review offers a critical discussion of the most important advantages and disadvantages of different approaches. It provides valuable recommendations for further research as well as practical recommendations concerning the best ways to utilize data visualization platforms based on FHIR. It defines the tradeoff of functionality versus the ease of dissemination as one of the most important problems facing most platforms and suggests avenues for developing additional tooling support for visualizing FHIR. The results of the research could be useful both for scientists and practitioners. © 2022 IEEE.

This study focuses on the importance of recruitment and retention of PhD students in engineering fields from faculty and industry perspectives. engineering faculty and industry experts were interviewed to explore their views of the recruitment and retention of domestic and international students into PhD programs in engineering fields. Findings point to a variety of ways to improve recruitment and retention of PhD students, including industry support and encouragement for graduates who work in the industry, funding issues, communicating the possible advantages of a graduate degree to students, and online degree program development. The study specifically explores the problems and barriers to attracting, retaining, and graduating qualified individuals from engineering disciplines and emphasizes possible solutions to retention and recruitment barriers from higher education and industry perspectives. © American Society for engineering Education, 2010.

The process of finding a block hash is a complex problem. One of the problems is making the hash from a generator algorithm that uses the existing string and the transaction data in the block. So far, the idea that has been used is to make it one step at a time using high-powered machines (supercomputing). Developing blockchain applications is hard because supercomputing is expensive. To solve this problem, developers need to use a different method, called parallel programming. This article talks about a parallel way to make block hashes, which are used to make new blocks. We use the SHA256 algorithm to process the hash. When creating a unique character string to be used as a block hash from a set of characters, thread division is done as part of the algorithmic skeleton process. Our experiments show that using threads to split work in parallel has speeded up the build process by 1.56 seconds compared to when blocks are hashed sequentially. In addition, it was also found that the threads that contributed the most to increasing speedup were 3 threads with an average processing time of 111,638 seconds. On average, the parallel hash generation process takes 707,853 seconds, while the sequential one takes 1756,56 seconds. We conclude the solution to building blockchain using the thread programming method with the number of threads is 3 for the computer specifications used to be the same or smaller than the computer specifications we use. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper analyzes the impact of battery energy storage system (BESS) dynamics in micro grids subject to active power variations. The micro grid is connected to the utility through a high impedance feeder to consider poor contribution. Thus, the dynamic of the sources and loads connected will be greater to obtain a more complex operating scenario allowing the interaction between different types of non-regulated sources and energy storage systems. The microgrid can operate on island due to some contingency, by a normal operating condition or with a weak link;any of these conditions the energy required to supply the loads will depend meanly on the renewable and nonrenewable sources. The interconnection of the BESS in strategic points will allow to improve the regulation of energy. The latency times of battery charging and discharging and the limit of daily operations are shown as a real consideration in the control of the energy of the micro grid systems. The sizing and location of the batteries is made in the weakest nodes. The results show that the dynamic of BESS have an important impact in the energy availability for the microgrid operation. © 2019 IEEE.

The implementation of smart grid on a micro scale in this study was for household electricity fulfillment needs. The use of renewable energy sources such as solar power will be integrated through a smart grid so that households can become independent in providing electricity and not depend on state electricity. Besides, it can also reduce monthly electricity costs when integrated with the state electricity network. Smart Micro Grid also enables the availability of energy management services such as monitoring, prediction, forecasting, scheduling and decision-making that was supported by some technologies such as artificial intelligent, smart sensors so that consumer use of electricity was more efficient. In this research, the forecasting method developed using the Deep Neural Network (DNN) and the Gate Recurrent Unit (GRU) as the architectural model. The GRU model was chosen because it has better performance compared to other models, namely LSTM, Auto-LSTM, Auto-GRU with MAE and MSE values of 0.0342 and 0.00245. © 2021 IEEE.
