A conditional term rewriting system is called logical if it has the same logical strength as the underlying conditional equational system. The increasing population at Teluk Pemedas and Sanipah coastal areas of Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan Province, has led to coastal degradation. The problem was mainly caused by conversion of mangrove into aquaculture, agriculture, plantation industrial, and residential areas. This research was a study case, used descriptive analysis to describe the local fishermen activity using belat traditional device to catch fish. The results revealed that there were many fishermen still did not know the benefits of mangrove for economy growth, ecological, ecotourism etc. This condition affects to the decline of the mangrove function. Fisherman who used belat often move from one location to another location in order to find places that have many catches. The belat which are placed in good environment mangrove areas produces lots of catches that greatly benefit the fisherman, therefore mangrove ecosystem must be well preserved for the sustainability of fishermen's efforts to earn a living. © 2018 The Authors, published by EDP Sciences.

Ceramic membrane support derived from spent bleaching earth (SBE) become a novel study due to their low-cost, sustainable features, abundance material, and there is not yet applicated as membrane. In this study, flat disk ceramic membrane configuration was fabricated and characterized from solid waste of crude palm oil bleaching process by pressing method in different SBE loading mass (38-42 %wt.). The SBE as raw material was deoiled using n-hexane and acetone solvent, followed by fabricated it become flat disk SBE membranes. Afterward, the SBE flat disk membranes was characterized through fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analyzer. The result exhibits the flat disk SBE ceramic membrane has dimension of 41 and 6 mm for diameter and thickness, respectively. SBE membranes indicating have montmorillonite structure due to presence of silica as main component materials of SBE. Besides that, the existence of siloxane vibration band in SBE membranes for the sample after regeneration with n-hexane and acetone were dominated over using raw SBE. It concludes the oil residue was removed and produced SBE membrane properties become robust with less organic contaminant. © 2023 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

This paper presents a simulation study on complex On-Line Transaction Processing systems using TPC-C workload. The impacts on the response time of Inter-Connection Network (ICN) in the system are studied. From the simulation results, we find anomalous cases where with the ICN that employs CSMA/CD protocol, increasing the number of database servers degrades the performance of the whole system. The explanation of the structure underlying this anomalous phenomenon is given after having investigated the behavior of the components in the system. © 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Communication skill is of local Bugis-Makasar one of skill needed in mathematical learning in order that the students can solve the problem in social life particularly economic mathematic. Integration of local tradition sipakatau, sipakainge and sipakalebbi consists of philosophy which can increase students' communication skill. The purpose of this study is to find out the improvement of students' communication skill of STKIP Muhammadiyah Bone in using learning strategy of 3S. Design of this study was experimental research Quasi Experimental Design using Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Based on the results of this study can be concluded that the earning strategy of 3S is effective in improving student's communication skill in economic mathematics in STKIP Muhammadiyah Bone not only on students' cognitive side but also affective and psychomotor side. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Melanoma is the most lethal skin malignancy. Fucoxanthin is a marine carotenoid with significant anticancer activities. Intriguingly, Fucoxanthin's impact on human melanoma remains elusive. Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 3 (STAT3) represents a promising target in cancer therapy due to its persistent activation in various cancers, including melanoma. Herein, we revealed that Fucoxanthin is cytotoxic to human melanoma cell lines A2758 and A375 while showing limited cytotoxicity to normal human melanocytes. Apoptosis is a primary reason for Fucoxanthin's melanoma cytotoxicity, as the pan-caspase inhibitor z-VAD-fmk drastically abrogated Fucoxanthin-elicited clonogenicity blockage. Besides, Fucoxanthin downregulated tyrosine 705-phosphorylated STAT3 (p-STAT3 (Y705)), either inherently present in melanoma cells or inducible by interleukin 6 (IL-6) stimulation. Notably, ectopic expression of STAT3-C, a dominant-active STAT3 mutant, abolished Fucoxanthin-elicited melanoma cell apoptosis and clonogenicity inhibition, supporting the pivotal role of STAT3 blockage in Fucoxanthin's melanoma cytotoxicity. Moreover, Fucoxanthin lowered BCL-xL levels by blocking STAT3 activation, while ectopic BCL-xL expression rescued melanoma cells from Fucoxanthin-induced killing. Lastly, Fucoxanthin was found to diminish the levels of JAK2 with dual phosphorylation at tyrosine residues 1007 and 1008 in melanoma cells, suggesting that Fucoxanthin impairs STAT3 signaling by blocking JAK2 activation. Collectively, we present the first evidence that Fucoxanthin is cytotoxic selectively against human melanoma cells while sparing normal melanocytes. Mechanistically, Fucoxanthin targets the JAK2/STAT3/BCL-xL antiapoptotic axis to provoke melanoma cell death. This discovery implicates the potential application of Fucoxanthin as a chemopreventive or therapeutic strategy for melanoma management. © 2024 Wiley Periodicals LLC.

Thought digitalisation and the post pandemic period online meetings increase by 12.9% and number of attendees by 13.5%. According to Zoom, Google Meets, and MS Teams they collectively increased there amount of active users from March 2020 until june 2021 by 253%. Additionally virtual meetings are becoming inefficient, unproductive and unstructured, where results are not documented correctly. The intention is to shift those statistics by revolutionising the way online meeting are held. The paper outlines the technical requirements for a user-friendly web application that allows to reproduce a virtual meeting including agreements, its participants interactions and highlighting relevant sequences, is outlined. The developed AI meeting wizard autonomously documents the discussed content in the form of notes, to-dos tasks and integrates them directly into task management, mail or calendar tools. Reinforcing the focus on the discussion by increased interaction and productivity instead of task management and note taking.

This paper investigates driverpsilas behavior of checking a traffic situation by analyzing driverpsilas eye movement when the driver is cognitively distracted during preparation of changing lanes. We made an experiment with a motion-based driving simulator under conditions of several types of secondary tasks. Collected data resulted in lower detection rates of intent of changing lanes, less checking behaviors and longer time length of checking behavior. These facts clarified that there are discrepancies between secondary tasks and no secondary one. It showed an influence of cognitively distracting activity on driverpsilas behavior.

Coastal residents have difficulty in fulfilling the needs of clean water due to tidal water and tidal water intrusion. Meanwhile, clean water is a crucial component in carrying out activities of daily life. This initiative aims to provide an alternative solution in the form of technology to treat water polluted by saline water into clean water. This initiative used the method of electrolysis, filtration, and ozonation. Electrolysis has functions to remove salt contained and reduce levels of heavy metals while filtration functions to filter out the impurities in the form of solid particles, and ozonation takes a role to kill bacteria. Moreover, the target output of this work is the creation of a prototype by using this technology as a technology that can treat water polluted by saline water into clean water. The parameters assessed from this initiative are physical, chemical, and biological parameters of clean water. The results of the total test of dissolved solids of water before processing were 7130 ppm while it was 2490 ppm after getting treatment. The decreasing total value of dissolved solids is 65.077%, which indicates that the test was successful. The result of an electrical conductivity test of water before processing is 310 mA while after processing is 88.6 mA. The decrease in the current value of 71.419% indicates that the test was successful. The results of the turbidity test of water before processing are 0 FAU while after getting treatment is 0 FAU. The turbidity value remains 0, which indicates the test was successful. The results of the pH test of water before processing were 5.7 while the result after treatment got 6.1. The increase in pH value towards pH 7 (neutral) indicates that the test was successful. The test results of salt and heavy metals (Fe, Cu, Cl, Na, and Pb) of water before processing were 0.073 ppm, 0.07 ppm, 0.17 ppm, 0.04 ppm, and 4.24 ppm while after processing was 0 ppm, 0 ppm, 0.07 ppm, 0.03 ppm, and 1.36 ppm. The effect of tin (range from 0.029-0.21 wt%) on the inclusion size in hot bands, grain size and texture of four non-oriented electrical steels after final annealing has been investigated. The steel ingots were reheated to 1200C and finished rolled at 950C. Then hot bands were annealed at 750C for two hours and cold rolled to 0.5mm. After annealing the cold rolled sheets at 750-950 °C for one minute, both X-ray diffractometer with texture attachment and EBSD analyses were conducted to measure specimen texture. It was found that 5-10 μm coarse MnS + AlN inclusions existed in the hot bands containing 0.029 wt% tin. However, 1-2 μm fine MnS+AlN inclusions were found in the hot bands containing 0.21 wt% tin. After final annealing, grain size decreased with increasing tin content and began to level off when tin reached 0.10wt%. At the same cold rolled annealing temperature, the intensity of {011} texture increased with increasing tin content. In the same steel, the intensity of {011} texture increased with increasing annealing texture and reached a maximum value and then declined sharply. The temperature to obtain maximum intensity of {011} texture strongly correlated with tin content, EBSD showed that the number and volume fraction of {011} grain per mm2 increased with increasing tin content. It is concluded that adding tin in the range of 0.100-0.210wt% to non-oriented electrical steels can enhance the volume fraction of Goss grain, The mechanisms are that tin not only enhances the nucleation of Goss grain, but also promotes its growth. Conversely, adding 0.055wt% tin to non-oriented electrical steels can lead to the best cube texture. This tin content maximizes the nucleation density of cube grains during annealing at 850C.
