Indonesia was declared the world's fourth-largest coffee bean producer in 2020 and yields consistently increase each year. Indonesia also has the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 01-2907-2008, which specifies various defects with the defect scores of coffee beans that determine their quality. Common coffee bean defects listed in SNI 01-2907-2008 include black beans, broken black beans, partly black beans, and brown coffee beans. These defects degrade the quality and affect the market value. Previous studies have proposed computer vision systems as a non-invasive testing method for grading coffee beans based on trained images. However, obtaining the detail in a single bean image based on the region of interest could have been more comprehensively explained in those studies, making them less informative and requiring a more detailed conceptual breakdown. This study describes several coffee beans captured as images using a digital camera with a specific field of view, F/25 f-number, 1/60s exposure time, ISO400, and a lighting system reaching 12,000 lux. These images are processed based on the region of interest and centroid, resulting in single bean images with a resolution of 220 x 220 pixels ready for training. The samples used in this study are Robusta Lampung coffee beans, which are commonly found in Indonesia and exhibit various types of defects based on the criteria in SNI 01-2907-2008, such as black beans, broken black beans, partly black beans, and brown coffee beans.

The high traffic in the container yard requires effective management, and one method to address this is through automation. The Rubber Tyred Gantry Crane (RTGC) plays a crucial role in container yards. Automating the RTGC involves determining the container’s location and sway angle to provide feedback for the control system. The advancements in computer vision technology offer a unique solution to tackle these challenges. This paper proposes image processing as a means to sense the sway angle and MobileNet SSD to detect the container’s location. The proposed method yields accurate measurement results and is integrated with optimized PID-PD for position and sway angle control in RTGC. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated through successful performance in both simulation and experiments conducted on a laboratory-scale RTGC prototype.

Paddy is a rice-producing plant as a staple food raw material for most of the population in Indonesia. The rice planting process cannot be separated from pests and diseases that can cause crop failure and impact on rice production stocks. Currently, the process of monitoring the development of rice plants is done conventionally by direct observation by farmers. Meanwhile, in this paper, a classification model and determination of object detection in rice plants infected with pests and diseases is proposed based on leaf color. Leaf classification applies convolution conditional network algorithm with mobilenet as the architecture. The leaf image dataset was taken from public data from *** by involving 4 classes, namely healthy leaf images, brownspot, hispa and leafblast images. In each class the leaf images are grouped into 2 groups, namely 70% training and 30% validation. On the mobilenet backbone, it produces 97% accuracy and 22% loss with the time required for 195s 19s/step in 1 epoch round.

This paper proposes a simple row-action type iterative algorithm which is appropriate to reconstruct sparse objects from a limited number of projections. The main idea is to use the L/sub 1/ norm to pick up a sparse solution from a set of feasible solutions to the measurement equation. By perturbing the linear program to a quadratic program, we use the duality of the nonlinear programming to construct a row-action type iterative algorithm to find a solution, we also prove that the algorithm converges for any initial image. We show that this method works well in the 3D blood-vessel reconstruction and its computation time is shorter compared to our previous method.
