This paper presents an accurate estimation formula for the minimum filter length of optimum (the minimax criterion-based) FIR low-pass digital filters. The authors have proposed an accurate estimation formula for the particular case that the passband and stopband ripples are identical. Now we expand the formula for the general case. The accuracy of the proposed formula is evaluated in comparison with that of the conventional formulae. We also describe how to apply the proposed formula for the design of other types of filters.

To enhance the accuracy of vehicle localization, this research proposes a map matching system with a distinct architecture involving four key stages. Each GPS point creates a local map, and the system detects reference points within that map, subsequently calculating Euclidean distances and determining observation and transmission probabilities. The matching results yield the actual position of the vehicle on the map. The localization algorithm incorporates distance computation using a sliding window technique, observation probability based on proximity between GPS and reference points, and transmission probability to minimize errors. The study employs real-world tests in Bandung, Indonesia, demonstrating successful correction of GPS positions using the proposed method. In conclusion, this research provides a significant contribution in enhancing the accuracy of autonomous vehicle localization. By employing a probabilistic approach to observation and transmission, the method effectively corrects the vehicle's position, compensating for potential inaccuracies introduced by GPS. The utilization of a local map also proves impactful by including reference point positions, resulting in more precise outcomes. From the conducted field tests, all GPS points are accurately detected in their actual positions where there are seven GPS points do not match to vehicle trajectory, after the matching process, all point positions are successfully corrected, ensuring accurate localization by the system.

This paper puts forward the forthcoming technology in military impact especially in the stealth operation. Synthetized ferrite phase BaFe(MnCo)1.5Ti1.5O19 using sol-gel method as RAM (Radar Absorber Material) is analyzed to avoid detection from radar by coating it on military vehicle and weaponry. FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared) is an analytical technique applied to identify organic and some cases of inorganic materials. The measurement technique of infrared absorption radiation is applied upon the sample material versus wavelength, because each molecule absorbs infrared radiation at its characteristic frequencies. When BaFe(MnCo)1.5Ti1.5O19 as Irradiated infrared Radar Absorber Material, the absorbed radiation process normally stimulates each molecule into a higher vibrational state. The absorbed light wavelength by one particular molecule is the energy gap function between the at-rest and excited vibrational states. Proposed issues of embedded FTIR sensor for detecting BaFe(MnCo)1.5Ti1.5O19 as RAM in UAVs with 5G network architecture by means of high frequency spectrum would be the next frontier of military impact as it enables significantly faster speeds to process a large amount of data with lower latency and greater device connectivity. © 2019 IEEE.

Object-oriented database systems (OODBs) need efficient support for manipulation of complex objects. In particular, support of queries involving evaluations of set predicates is often required in handling complex objects. In this paper, we propose a scheme to apply signature file techniques, which were originally invented for text retrieval, to the support of set value accesses, and quantitatively evaluate their potential capabilities. Two signature file organizations, the sequential signature file and the bit-sliced signature file, are considered and their performance is compared with that of the nested index for queries involving the set inclusion operator (⊆). We develop a detailed cost model and present analytical results clarifying their retrieval, storage, and update costs. Our analysis shows that the bit-sliced signature file is a very promising set access facility in OODBs.

Using the net of factors (IoT) technology has led to a resurgence in improving intelligent farms. The capacity to music and reveal crops, animals, and different farm activities has advanced the performance of farming operations. Clever farms enjoy the blessings of connectivity, allowing farmers to be more informed and higher prepared for any ability issues. This increased connectivity has also opened the door for new security problems. This paper looks at intelligent farm IoT structures' usability and safety features. The paper investigates the overall protection levels of the systems and the various security measures that may be implemented as an excellent way to discover and guard in opposition to ability threats. It also evaluates the usability of the structures and assesses the extent of convenience it offers for agriculture employees. The paper also evaluates the present-day enterprise tendencies in IoT protection, value, and potential future trends. Ultimately, the paper gives insights into modern and future security and usability measures that may be taken to ensure the protection and effectiveness of clever farm IoT systems. The paper examines the usability and protection capabilities of innovative Farm Internet of Things (IoT) structures, which provide farmers with the potential to monitor, manipulate, and control various farm elements remotely. Usability functions consisting of user interfaces, device connectivity, and communication protocols are analyzed to evaluate how user-friendly the device is. Additionally, safety functions consisting of authentication, authorization, encryption, and getting entry to manage are tested to decide how the gadget can defend the statistics and assets of the farm. Moreover, this paper touches upon the contemporary and destiny-demanding situations related to those structures, including scalability, cost, and privacy. ultimately, the paper concludes with a comprehensive assessment of the usability and security functions and

We have developed a high-speed pattern recognition system using evolvable hardware (EHW). EHW is hardware that can change its own structure by genetic learning for maximum adaptation to the environment. The purpose of the system is to show that recognition devices based on EHW are possible and that they have the same robustness to noise as devices based on an artificial neural network (ANN). The advantage of EHW compared with ANN is the high processing speed and the readability of the learned result. In this paper, we describe the learning algorithm, the architecture, and the experiment involving a pattern recognition system that uses EHW. We also compare the processing speed of the pattern recognition system with two types of ANN dedicated hardware and discuss the performance of the system. © 2000 Scripta Technica.

Fuel additives are recognized for their potential to make diesel engines cleaner and more efficient. However, the use of Pure Palm Oil (PPaO) as a fuel faces challenges due to its inherent combustion inefficiencies. This study explores how Acetylene Black (AB), as an additive, affects the combustion performance and spray characteristics of a diesel engine. Observations of spray phenomena were conducted using a High-Speed Camera Phantom C110. The addition of AB to PPaO resulted in an increase in engine power and torque by 11.43% at a 60% load, averaging a 2.97% improvement over diesel fuel (DF). PPaO demonstrated the most significant improvement in Specific Fuel Consumption (SFC) by 17.2% at a 40% load, averaging an 8.2% increase. For PPaO with AB (PPaOAB), the greatest enhancement in SFC occurred at a 10% load, showing a 9.2% improvement over DF, with an average increase of 2.1%. The study also found that thermal efficiency was optimally enhanced with PPaOAB at a 20% load, achieving a remarkable 17.7% improvement compared to DF. Notably, the inclusion of AB in PPaO significantly improved spray angle and penetration compared to PPaO alone. These findings suggest that AB could be a promising additive for PPaO, sparking further research interest in the application of AB in other fuels. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

WAKASHI/C (centralized server version) is a subsystem at the base level of the ''Shusse Uo'' project. It provided the C programmer with the basic functions to manipulate the distributed shared persistent data and the distributed shared volatile data. In WAKASHI/C, the virtual memory scheme and the distributed shared memory scheme are combined to realize the distributed shared persistent heap and the distributed and shared volatile heap, for the efficient handling of multimedia data. This paper discusses the realization of WAKASHI/C corresponding to the distributed computing environment. To evaluate the performance for the manipulation of the multimedia database, the extended object operation benchmark is proposed, and the execution performance of WAKASHI/C is evaluated.

The diffusion of 2,2,4-trimethylpentane (TMP) and 2,2,5-trimethylhexane (TMH) vapors out of residually contaminated sandy soil from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) field research site at Traverse City, Michigan, was measured and modeled. The headspace of an intact core sleeve sample was swept with nitrogen gas to simulate the diffusive release of hydrocarbon vapors from residual aviation gasoline in and immediately above the capillary fringe to a soil-venting air flow in the unsaturated zone. The resulting steady-state profile was modeled using existing diffusivity and air porosity estimates in a balance of diffusive flux and a first order source term. The source strength, which was calibrated with the observed flux of 2,2,4-TMP leaving the sleeve, varied with the residual gasoline remaining in the core, but was independent of the headspace sweep flow rate. This finding suggested that lower soil-venting air flow rates were in principle as effective as higher air flow rates in venting LNAPL vapors from contaminated soils. The saturated vapor concentration ratio of 2,2,4-TMP to 2,2,5-TMH decreased from 6.6 to 3.5 over the duration of the experiments in an expression of distillation effects. The vertical profile model was tested against sample port data in four separate experiments for both species, yielding mean errors ranging from 0 to -24 percent in magnitude.

Learner attention affects learning efficiency. However, in many classes, teachers cannot assess the degree of attention of every student. When a teacher is capable of addressing inattentive students immediately, he can avoid situations in which students are inattentive. Many studies have analyzed student attentiveness by the applying of image detection technologies. If this mechanism can be applied to in-class learning, it will help teachers keep students attentive, and reduce teacher load during class. This study mainly applies fuzzy logic analysis of student facial images when participating in class. Applying fuzzy logic can prevent erroneous judgments associated with a single term, and help teachers deal with student attentiveness.
