Although supervised image denoising networks have shown remarkable performance on synthesized noisy images, they often fail in practice due to the difference between real and synthesized noise. Since clean-noisy image pairs from the real world are extremely costly to gather, self-supervised learning, which utilizes noisy input itself as a target, has been studied. To prevent a self-supervised denoising model from learning identical mapping, each output pixel should not be influenced by its corresponding input pixel; This requirement is known as J-invariance. Blind-spot networks (BSNs) have been a prevalent choice to ensure J-invariance in self-supervised image denoising. However, constructing variations of BSNs by injecting additional operations such as downsampling can expose blinded information, thereby violating J-invariance. Consequently, convolutions designed specifically for BSNs have been allowed only, limiting architectural flexibility. To overcome this limitation, we propose PUCA, a novel J-invariant U-Net architecture, for self-supervised denoising. PUCA leverages patch-unshuffle/shuffle to dramatically expand receptive fields while maintaining J-invariance and dilated attention blocks (DABs) for global context incorporation. Experimental results demonstrate that PUCA achieves state-of-the-art performance, outperforming existing methods in self-supervised image denoising.

The development aims to mimic the anthropomorphic specifications of a human head by using available modern equipment such as the 3D printing machine. The proponents developed mechanisms to meet the Anthropomorphic data of a human head, angle of actuation, and the angular velocity of the mouth, eyes, and neck. The proponents also tested motor torque and stress on the parts to ensure the robustness of the machine, which yields 520 N-mm and 27.74 MPa on the neck tilting, 188 N-mm and 24.74 Mpa on neck swinging, 114 N-mm, and 12.09 Mpa on the neck panning, 73 and 7.052 MPa on the Eye Tilting. The maximum angular velocity of each part is 266.33 deg/sec on neck tilting, 262.33 deg/sec on neck swinging, 314 deg/sec on neck panning, 795.66 deg/sec on eye tilting, and 785.66 deg/sec on eye panning. The Proponents used the MPU-6050 accelerometer to test for the result of this study to achieve the required data. The effectiveness of the machine is as follows;eyes, 92.43% for panning, and 93.60% for tilting, neck, 89.20% for panning, 75.66% for tilting, 75.52% for swinging, for the mouth, 81.94%. © 2021 IEEE.

We introduce a lightweight and accurate localization method that only utilizes the geometry of 2D-3D lines. Given a pre-captured 3D map, our approach localizes a panorama image, taking advantage of the holistic 360◦ view. The system mitigates potential privacy breaches or domain discrepancies by avoiding trained or hand-crafted visual descriptors. However, as lines alone can be ambiguous, we express distinctive yet compact spatial contexts from relationships between lines, namely the dominant directions of parallel lines and the intersection between nonparallel lines. The resulting representations are efficient in processing time and memory compared to conventional visual descriptor-based methods. Given the groups of dominant line directions and their intersections, we accelerate the search process to test thousands of pose candidates in less than a millisecond without sacrificing accuracy. We empirically show that the proposed 2D-3D matching can localize panoramas for challenging scenes with similar structures, dramatic domain shifts or illumination changes. Our fully geometric approach does not involve extensive parameter tuning or neural network training, making it a practical algorithm that can be readily deployed in the real world. Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever is an acute viral infectious disease caused by the dengue virus. Transmitted through the bite of Aedes Mosquitoes and divided into 4 severity. Severity 1 and 2 are characterized by a decrease in platelet levels below normal and there is a change in hemoconcentration, while Severity 3 and 4 are included in Dengue Shock Syndrome (DSS). The purpose of the study was to classify the severity of dengue, based on age, gender, platelets, body temperature, bleeding, and also doctor's recommendation. The advancement of information technology is the reason for the development of medical science, especially with artificial intelligence. Abundant medical data becomes a source that can be processed in improving the quality of medical information. The method chosen is Random Forest, kNN, Decision Tree and Naïve Bayes. The dataset used is the medical records of all DHF patients for 30 months in the period Jan 2019 to June 2021, at the Nadhifa Al Ghiffari Clinic in Bojongsoang District, Bandung Regency. © 2022 IEEE.

Advanced battery management systems (ABMSs) rely on mathematical models to ensure high battery safety and performance. One of the key tasks of a BMS is state estimation. In the following, we consider a single lithium-ion cell described with a dual polarization equivalent circuit model. To consider a realistic scenario, where the parameters have been identified from experimentally collected data, both parametric and measurement uncertainties are taken into account in the model. In particular, unknown but bounded uncertainties are assumed. In this setup, we address state estimation through a set-based approach using Constrained Zonotopes (CZ). Due to the model nonlinearities, a method able to propagate CZ through nonlinear mappings is demanded. Within this context, mean value and first-order Taylor CZ-based extensions were proposed which, however, might lead to conservative overestimation due to the sensitivity to the wrapping and dependency effects inherited from interval arithmetic. In the following, we suggest the use of DC programming as an alternative. The effectiveness of the proposed scheme is demonstrated in simulation for the considered Li-ion model.

Human-centric Video Anomaly Detection (VAD) aims to identify human behaviors that deviate from normal. At its core, human-centric VAD faces substantial challenges, such as the complexity of diverse human behaviors, the rarity of anomalies, and ethical constraints. These challenges limit access to high-quality datasets and highlight the need for a dataset and framework supporting continual learning. Moving towards adaptive human-centric VAD, we introduce the HuVAD (Human-centric privacy-enhanced Video Anomaly Detection) dataset and a novel Unsupervised Continual Anomaly Learning (UCAL) framework. UCAL enables incremental learning, allowing models to adapt over time, bridging traditional training and real-world deployment. HuVAD prioritizes privacy by providing de-identified annotations and includes seven indoor/outdoor scenes, offering over 5× more pose-annotated frames than previous datasets. Our standard and continual benchmarks, utilize a comprehensive set of metrics, demonstrating that UCAL-enhanced models achieve superior performance in 82.14% of cases, setting a new state-of-the-art (SOTA). We propose Text2Scene, a method to automatically create realistic textures for virtual scenes composed of multiple objects. Guided by a reference image and text descriptions, our pipeline adds detailed texture on labeled 3D geometries in the room such that the generated colors respect the hierarchical structure or semantic parts that are often composed of similar materials. Instead of applying flat stylization on the entire scene at a single step, we obtain weak semantic cues from geometric segmentation, which are further clarified by assigning initial colors to segmented parts. Then we add texture details for individual objects such that their projections on image space exhibit feature embedding aligned with the embedding of the input. The decomposition makes the entire pipeline tractable to a moderate amount of computation resources and memory. As our framework utilizes the existing resources of image and text embedding, it does not require dedicated datasets with high-quality textures designed by skillful artists. To the best of our knowledge, it is the first practical and scalable approach that can create detailed and realistic textures of the desired style that maintain structural context for scenes with multiple objects.

The rapid increase in vehicular sensor data and advances in Internet of Things (IoT) technologies pose a dual challenge and opportunity for real-time traffic management and driver behavior analysis in the domain of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). The current gap lies in effectively processing this data at the network edge, which is critical for timely and efficient decision-making in ITS. Our study proposes a novel, multi-layered, stream-oriented data processing methodology specifically designed for edge computing environments to address this challenge. This approach integrates soft sensors, the Typicality and Eccentricity Data Analytics (TEDA) framework, and an incremental clustering algorithm to detect and classify driver behavior patterns. The emphasis on using low-energy hardware and TinyML techniques is crucial, aiming to optimize processing efficiency while minimizing the environmental impact. To substantiate the efficacy of our methodology, we conducted a practical case study in Natal-RN, Brazil, utilizing the Freematics One + OBD-II microcontroller device for real-world application and validation. This involved two participants and focused on real-time data analysis for driver profile detection. The preliminary results demonstrate a significant potential of our approach in accurately classifying driving behaviors and patterns, offering insights for enhancing vehicle efficiency and reducing fuel consumption. This study fills a critical gap in ITS. It sets the stage for future research in sustainable and adaptive transportation systems, leveraging the power of edge computing and incremental algorithms in real-time data stream processing.
