TECHNO-ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT OF ELECTRIFIED ROAD IN LAEM CHABANG PORT, THAILAND

Increased awareness of decarbonization and high fuel prices have induced a need for a wider deployment of alternative energy sources. Battery-powered electric trucks using an electrified road system offer a promising solution. This paper aims to evaluate the fuel consumption and environmental benefits of a 6 km road in Laem Chabang Port, Thailand, with a prototype system based on conductive charging from below. Battery capacity penetrations were designed for 1258 trucks traveling on weekdays. The annual electricity demand reached 1.608 TWh, and the flexible demand reached 1.65 TWh. The input was Thailand’s standard electricity, with one 50 kVA power substation per 0.0016 km2 and a 22 kV/400–230 V voltage system. Penetration required a capacity of 525 kWh. The findings indicate that fuel consumption was 592.43 TWh, and CO2 emissions were 51.63 MtCO2 annually. The electrified road system was evaluated with time series, fixed-effect, and tobit regressions. The time series analysis revealed that CO2 emissions would be nearly zero by 2060, with an annual 4% increase in Laem Chabang’s gross domestic product. A fixed-effect analysis signified the findings with Thailand’s recent potential, whereas the tobit regression represented the influence of possible changes. These regressions demonstrated that variations in revenue, oil resources, openness to the sea, and political stability significantly affected CO2 emissions, although there was no change in the implementation of the electrified road system. © 2024 by Begell House, Inc.

Oil content estimation in palm fruits is a precious property that significantly impacts oil palm production,starting from the upstream and *** content can be used to monitor the progress of the oil palm fresh fruit bunch(FFB)and be applied to identify product *** on the near-infrared(NIR)signals,this study proposes an empirical mode decomposition(EMD)technique to decompose signals and predict the oil content of palm ***,350 palm fruits with Tenera varieties(Elaeis guineensis ***),at various ages of maturity,were harvested from the Cikabayan Oil Palm Plantation(IPB University,Indonesia).Second,each sample was sent directly to the laboratory for NIR signal measurements and oil content ***,the EMD analysis and arti-ficial neural network(ANN)were employed to correlate the NIR signals and oil ***,a robust EMD-ANN model is generated by optimizing the lowest possible *** on performance evaluation,the proposed technique can predict oil content with a coefficient of determination(R2)of 0.933±0.015 and a root mean squared error(RMSE)of 1.446±*** results demonstrate that the model has a good predictive capacity and has the potential to predict the oil content of palm fruits directly,without neither solvents nor reagents,which makes it environmentally ***,the proposed technique has a promising potential to be applied in the oil palm *** like this will lead to the effective and efficient management of oil palm production.

Recommendation of Resource Allocation Decision Based on Bipartite Graph Network Structure

In resource allocation decisions in business, fully understanding customers’ needs and preferences helps to maximise benefits. As a result, in the modern business environment, the design of customized recommendation systems has gained a lot of attention. To this end, the study designs a recommendation algorithm for resource allocation decision based on improved two-part graph network structure. In this algorithm, an improved K-means clustering algorithm is introduced to deeply mine potential information. The calculation of similarity between users is also optimised to assist the target user to find the real neighbouring users. The findings demonstrate that, in comparison to the other algorithms, the resource allocation recommendation algorithm based on improved bipartite graph suggested in the study has a greater hit rate. The hit rate of the suggested algorithm can reach 32.5% when the recommendation list length is 10, which is a 21.5% improvement over the collaborative filtering algorithm. The suggested algorithm’s popularity is only 39.1, which is 69.3 less than the collaborative filtering algorithm when the suggestion list length is 10. Furthermore, the suggested algorithm for resource allocation decision-making created by the research has a greater recommendation accuracy, more personalization, and diversity, as seen by the proposed algorithm’s mean Hamming distance of 0.976. Through an improved bipartite graph network, the algorithm can fully analyze the historical preference information of users, effectively capture the complex relationship between users and products, generate personalized recommendation lists, and improve user satisfaction and purchase conversion rates. It provides an effective recommendation role for resource allocation decisions in modern business and helps to create greater economic benefits. © 2025 Institute of Electronics Engineers of Korea. Enhanced Financial Performance Classification Using an Improved ID3 Algorithm with Decision Coherence

The evaluation of enterprise financial performance is of great significance to investors, creditors and managers. Through the performance evaluation, we can judge the comprehensive strength of the enterprise and then take corresponding countermeasures. The study mainly quantifies the three financial performance factors of profitability, operating ability and solvency in segments. At the same time, variables are constructed for the statement subjects other than the performance factors. In addition, an iterative binary tree three-generation algorithm model based on decision coordination degree is introduced to classify and measure the financial performance of enterprises. The study used 528 financial statements from a manufacturing industry and employed a mean imputation strategy and Z-score standardization method for preprocessing. Ultimately, 19 variables were selected for financial performance evaluation. Using the model's construction time, classification accuracy, and area under the curve as evaluation indicators, verify the performance advantages of the proposed model in financial performance evaluation. The results show that when the sample size is 300, the construction time of the improved model is only 120ms, and out of 50 financial statements, only 7 financial statements with "poor" profitability are misclassified as "excellent". The average classification accuracy of the improved model is 87.57% and the average area under the curve is 0.8369. In the solvency test, the average classification accuracy of the improved model in the solvency indicator is 84.21%. In the test of operating capacity indicators, the mean value of classification accuracy of the improved model proposed by the Institute in operating capacity indicators is as high as 85.16%. The results show that the classification model proposed by the Institute has the least construction time and the highest classification accuracy. This study proposes a quality development method based on six sigma to solve software quality problems of the software. The six sigma DMADV framework is used to analyze the root causes that have a major influence on user complaints against the software. Based on the results of joint elaboration with the company stakeholders, proposed improvements will be designed that can reduce user complaints. The suggestions for improvement that will be designed are the design of a junior programmer training program and the design of technical documents. The program will be designed by adapting the Windows training framework and developing the SKKNI 615-2012 programmer curriculum. Meanwhile, technical documents will be designed based on the IEEE 1063-2001 standard for software user documentation. Efficient production planning requires well-structured models compatible with metaheuristic and other optimization techniques. This study compares three established metaheuristic methods - sanitized-teaching-learning-based optimization (s-TLBO), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), and Differential Evolution (DE) with a termination criterion of equal number of functional evaluations - for profit-maximizing production planning. The focus is on a single-level problem involving complex constraints, non-linear costs, budget and raw material limitations. The paper presents two solution strategies: a penalty-based and a correction-based approach. Analyzing 300 unique instances of the problem reveals that s-TLBO implemented with correction-based approach consistently outperforms the other methods in devising optimal production plans for two Saudi Arabian petrochemical industries with 24 products, 54 processes, and three raw materials for plant 1 and two raw materials for plant 2. © 2024 IEEE.

To enhance production planning efficiency, it's crucial to have well-structured models that align with metaheuristic and other optimization techniques. This research conducts a comparative analysis of three unique metaheuristic methods: sanitized-teaching-learning-based optimization (sTLBO), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), and Differential Evolution (DE) with a termination criterion of equal number of functional evaluations. The primary focus lies on profit-maximizing production planning within a single-level framework, encompassing intricate domain constraints, nonlinear costs, budget limitations and raw material constraints. The paper introduces three correction-based solution approaches. Upon evaluating 300 distinct instances of the problem, the study reveals that s-TLBO integrated with correction-based approach 1 and 3 consistently outperforms the other methods when it comes to devising optimal production plans for a Saudi Arabian petrochemical industry. This industry scenario involves 24 products, 54 processes, and three raw materials. © 2024 IEEE.

The global trend in broadband internet services reveals an increased focus on reliability, customer service, and integrating new technologies like IoT, 5G, or FMC. Customer service is primarily determined by network quality and reliability, price, and the quality of customer support provided by ISPs. Meanwhile, existing network quality measurement methods often involve numerous parameters, ranging from download speed and server response time to video streaming quality, each providing a separate insight into aspects of user experience. Therefore, the importance of the composite index method is becoming increasingly relevant. This method allows the integration of these various parameters into a single, easily understandable integrated index, simplifying complex data analysis into a more concise and interpretable form. As a result of this approach, internet service providers can more effectively monitor and enhance the customer experience and the overall quality of their services for various purposes with a single composite parameter value, providing reassurance and confidence in their operations. © 2024 IEEE.

Waterborne pathogens pose a lifelong threat, necessitating advanced disinfection systemswith state-of-the-art materials. Laser-Induced Graphene (LIG), a 3-dimensional form ofgraphene, is a widely known electrode material for its electrically-induced antimicrobialproperties. However, LIG surfaces exhibit antimicrobial properties exclusively in the presenceof electricity. In this work, copper-doped LIG (Cu-LIG) composite electrodes and filterswere developed with enhanced antimicrobial properties in single-step laser scribing. Thework emphasizes the optimization of copper doping with LIG for both electrical and nonelectrical-based disinfection. The copper doping was optimized to a minimal concentration(∼1%) just to enhance the electrochemical properties of LIG. Furthermore, the excess additionof copper was helpful towards non-electricity-based treatment without significantleaching. The prepared surfaces were tested in both electrodes and filter configuration andshowed excellent antibacterial and antiviral activity against mixed bacterial culture and amodel enteric virus, MS2 bacteriophage. On the application of 2.5 V with Cu-LIG electrodes,6-log removal of bacteria and virus was achieved. Furthermore, the membrane-based electroconductivefilters were tested in a flow-through configuration and demonstrated 6-logremoval at 2.5 V with a flux of ∼ 500 (L·m^(2))/h with both bacteria and viruses at minimumenergy expense. Additionally, reactive oxygen species scavenging and hydrogen peroxidegeneration experiments have confirmed the role of electrical effects and indirect oxidationon the inactivation mechanism. The prepared Cu-LIG composite surfaces showed potentialfor environmental remediation applications.

Cloud providers make decisions on whom to interact with based on trust between cloud service providers. However, achieving trust has been a major obstacle to a wide cloud federation adoption. It has been observed that trust is largely determined by the provider, but trust can also be influenced by the external environment (such as by institutional trust, cultural trust, or legal framework) as well as by government policies or strategies. As a result of the cloud federation model, participants from different countries can collaborate with each other, sharing resources, transferring data, and exchanging knowledge, which is directly influenced by an organizational trust as well as institutional trust. Transferring data from one jurisdiction to another requires a legal framework and is a sensitive issue. Data protection concerns are not adequately addressed in a similar way in all countries, which negatively impacts trust. In this paper, we discuss trust from the perspective of institutional trust and propose an evaluation mechanism for trust during cloud federation formation. The proposed trust evaluation model utilizes neighbors’ feedback and institutional quality, to evaluate the cloud service provider trust. The evaluation of the model is conducted by utilizing an agent-based approach and the Netlogo simulation tool. The results show that the proposed model generates profit in the three scenarios while the comparative model, which doesn’t consider institutional trust, generates profits in only the two scenarios. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
