In recent years, research has been conducted to establish a method for quickly and appropriately determining damage to buildings during an earthquake using sensors, and it’s useful to appropriately evaluate the maximum and residual displacement during an earthquake. The purpose of this study is to propose a disaster assessment method using a satellite positioning system that directly measures the response displacement of a building from satellite positioning information. In this paper, the positioning accuracy is verified when calculating the relative displacement using two movable vibration tables that assume the top floor of a building and the ground surface under earthquake. © 2024 Architectural Institute of Japan. Cybersecurity threats information (CTI) sharing protects firms and stakeholders from cyberattacks and avoid security vulnerabilities. However, despite these benefits of CTI sharing, firms are still unwilling to share due to barriers and challenges related to a lack of trust. Some studies explored the significance of trust in sharing cyber security information, but further studies are required to determine what dimensions compose trust, which processes support trust, and what trust building policies have been enacted to foster the sharing of information in cybersecurity ecosystems, which is the main purpose of this review. The deliverables from this review present 25 trust dimensions, 6 main processes supporting trust, and 30 trust government policies enacted to foster trust and sharing in cybersecurity. These outcomes enable the creation of a framework for building trust in cybersecurity ecosystems and facilitating the cyberthreat information sharing. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

In this paper, the dynamic warehouse location problem is considered. A Tabu search algorithm (TSA) is proposed to solve the problem. The procedure is tested on three generated benchmark problems. The small-sized problem includes 25 customers, 3 potential warehouse locations, and 3 planning horizon periods. The medium-sized problem consists of 50 customers, 5 potential warehouse locations, and 5 periods of the planning horizon. The large-sized problem consists of 100 customers, 10 potential warehouse locations, and 10 periods of the planning horizon. The proposed algorithm was compared with a solution method for mixed-integer linear programming in a cloud, CPLEX. The proposed algorithm provides reasonable solutions, while CPLEX could not provide solutions for medium and large problems in the limited computation time. © 2023 IEEE.

Several studies have examined the connection between innovation, technology, and organizational culture in recent years. management of technology and innovation is crucial to an organization's expansion and success. The development of an innovative organizational culture comes before technology and innovation management. This study's primary goal was to assess how organizational culture affects innovation in the Indian service sector. The study made use of a paradigm for understanding organisational culture created by Cameron and Quinn, which looks at culture as a collection of conflicting values from four angles. A descriptive survey research design was used in the investigation. Employees of service industries made up the study's population. More than twenty IT organizations participated in the survey, and 120 out of 180 respondents returned completed questionnaires. This indicated a response rate of 66%.The collected data was analyzed using inferential data analysis techniques and descriptive statistics. Tables and figures were created after analysis with IBM SPSS software. The results demonstrated that the strongest associations with innovation and technology were found in companies with flexible, collaborative, and employee-friendly cultures. Lastly, the study suggests areas for additional research, such as employing a new organizational culture model for the study or qualitative techniques for data collecting and analysis to reveal deeper cultural features. © 2024 IEEE.

One of the main problems in the organic farm industry is the marketing channel to find its customers. This problem might lead to a loss of possibility of gaining economic value from them. Implementation of digital marketing technologies could prevent economic value loss since digitalization utilizes tools to create strategies to reach its customers. However, the digital marketing application in organic farm has obstacles and a lack of discussion in the literature, particularly in the case of Indonesia. This research develops a conceptual model of the application for digital marketing in an organic farming through the soft systems methodology approach. The results shed light on the ongoing literature by identifying the overall system and relevant components. The lack of engagement between producers and consumers, which reduces consumers' desire to buy organic foods, is one of the other difficulties that this study also brings to light. It is advised that producers improve contact with their stakeholders and customers to better understand their requirements and desires to implement digitalization in this business. © 2024 IEEE.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) and marketing have transformed consumer behavior and shopping experiences, especially through Recommender Systems (RSs) in e-commerce. RSs use algorithms to provide personalized recommendations, enhancing shopping convenience. However, this raises data privacy and ethical concerns, as RSs rely on user data. This research explores the quality determinants of RSs and their impact on consumer behavior, focusing on privacy awareness and its effect on repurchase intentions. Using a qualitative approach with semi-structured interviews, the study targets Indonesian respondents aged 18-40 with e-commerce experience. Findings reveal that recommendation quality, especially self-reference and vividness, significantly influences purchasing decisions. Respondents prefer recommendations that match their preferences and are visually appealing. Positive shopping experiences are linked to efficient and accurate RSs, but there's a need for improvements in transparency, novelty, diversity, and advanced technologies like AR. Respondents are aware of digital data storage but have limited understanding of privacy concerns. They trust e-commerce platforms with basic personal details but are hesitant to share sensitive information. Despite privacy issues, e-commerce remains vital, with respondents emphasizing the need for transparency, robust security, and clear explanations for data use to maintain trust. Addressing these issues not only enhances customer experience but also demonstrates that consumer trust directly impacts the sustainability and success of the business. © 2024 IEEE.

The essential ideas behind haptic technology, including haptic interface and haptic rendering methods, as well as its application to surgical simulation, medical education, and other diverse topics, are presented in this paper. In empirical psychology and physiology, this refers to the sense of contact. The process of analyzing and developing capabilities in response to user interactions with virtual entities is elaborated as haptic rendering. Haptic may indicate haptic transmission, haptic perception, and haptic technology. Humans and other animals can respond to one another by using their feelings through haptic technology. Haptic perception is the process of recognizing objects through *** implies tactile response, which means it delivers feedback in the state of sensation as we may sense the material properties and motions of virtual objects devised by a computer. The use of haptic technology in the medical profession has proven extremely beneficial, and it has a wide range of applications in many different industries. Students in a Landscape Architecture studio at Thammasat University and an Environmental engineering class at Asian Institute of technology joined to develop and assess Nature-based Solution designs for a pond/wetland system in peri-urban Bangkok. The Landscape Architecture class first developed their design visions and subsequently their designs were introduced to the engineering students through on-line presentations and collaborative on-site investigations. The engineering students used combinations of water quality sampling, static calculations, and application of a conceptual, dynamic urban hydrology model to assess design performance. The engineering students effectively incorporated some aspects of the architectural designs into their assessments, particularly those related to constructed wetlands for water quality improvement. Application of the dynamic model for water quantity assessments and provision of project cost estimates proved more challenging. Course evaluations indicated that students in both classes gained a better appreciation of the multidisciplinary process necessary for successful water resource planning, but also would prefer even greater interaction between the disciplines. Planned pedagogical improvements, including introduction of Steinitz’ Framework for Theory, are discussed. ©, Engineers Australia.

Dynamic weight-based connectivity recovery in wireless sensor and actor networks

Wireless sensors and actor networks (WSANs) have been widely used in various fields, from basic data collection to precise real-time control and monitoring, including battlefield monitoring, rescue, and exploration. The actor nodes in a WSAN play a key role in processing and transmitting data, and because of the harsh environmental conditions encountered, network node failures are prone to occur. The failure of an actor causes a loss of connectivity with its neighbor nodes, resulting in network splits and failure to deliver messages between nodes. Therefore, determining how to quickly and autonomously recover network connectivity while minimizing the moving distance of backup nodes and the number of relocated nodes is crucial. In this paper, we propose a dynamic weight-based connectivity recovery (DWCR) method to minimize the total moving distance of actor nodes, the number of relocated nodes, the total messages sent, and the coverage loss rate. The proposed DWCR method involves selecting a backup node for each critical node by dynamically adjusting the weight. If a critical node fails, the backup node starts to move to restore the connectivity of the failed node. The simulation results indicate that the proposed DWCR method outperforms the recovery through inward motion (RIM) method and other methods in terms of minimizing the total moving distance, the number of relocated nodes, and the total messages sent. However, because the RIM algorithm requires the relocation of more nodes during the network process, the DWCR algorithm is slightly inferior to the RIM algorithm in terms of coverage loss rate. Nevertheless, the DWCR algorithm still outperforms the distributed actor recovery algorithm and the distributed autonomous connectivity restoration method based on finite state machine algorithm. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature.

Skin pathologies encompass a spectrum of conditions, with malignancies such as melanoma representing a critical diagnostic urgency. This investigation delineates the deployment of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) for the classification of dermatological anomalies, benchmarking CNN diagnostic fidelity against dermatological expert evaluations. The study underscores the efficacy of CNN classifiers in expediting the diagnostic workflow for various cutaneous disorders. Advocating for an automated diagnostic framework, the research introduces a CNN-based system aimed at reducing human diagnostic load, accelerating diagnostic timelines, and enhancing survival outcomes. Utilizing advanced image processing algorithms and deep learning architectures, the research presents an automated classification system for skin pathologies, addressing both benign and malignant presentations. The classification matrix includes nine dermatological conditions: actinic keratosis, basal cell carcinoma, benign keratosis, dermatofibroma, melanoma, nevus, seborrheic keratosis, squamous cell carcinoma, and vascular lesions. The objective is to engineer a CNN model with robust diagnostic performance across a diverse lesion dataset, ensuring accurate identification and categorization of dermatological conditions. © 2024 IEEE.
