The brain in conjunction with the body is able to adapt to new environments and perform multiple behaviors through reuse of neural resources and transfer of existing behavioral traits. Although mechanisms that underlie this ability are not well understood, they are largely attributed to neuromodulation. In this work, we demonstrate that an agent can be multifunctional using the same sensory and motor systems across behaviors, in the absence of modulatory mechanisms. Further, we lay out the different levels at which neural reuse can occur through a dynamical filtering of the brain-body-environment system's operation: structural network, autonomous dynamics, and transient dynamics. Notably, transient dynamics reuse could only be explained by studying the brain-body-environment system as a whole and not just the brain. The multifunctional agent we present here demonstrates neural reuse at all three levels. Copyright © 2018, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Based on the formulation of the problem to be discussed by the writer is to know: the influence of 0.4 mm spark gap variation, and standard spark plug type, to CO and HC, the influence of 0.5 mm spark plug gap variation, and variation of platinum spark plug on CO and HC, influence of spark gap variation 0,6mm, and variation of iridium spark plug type to CO and HC emission Method used to obtain data needed to support the writer that is research method with experiment, literature study method or literature study The result of this research concludes that there is spark gap influence 0.4 mm, with variations of standard plug, platinum and iridium spark plugs against CO and HC emissions, where the lowest CO value is 0.27% and HC 98 ppm, 0.5 mm spark plug with lowest CO 0.15% and HC 46 ppm, 0.6 mm spark plug gap the lowest CO value of 0.19% and HC 24 ppm. Aluminium casting is often done, but for the casting of composite materials base on aluminium is very rare. The purpose of this research is make composite material based on aluminium reinforced by SiC particles by casting. This research method use three different casting molds that are permanent cast, ceramic (chamotte sand / Al2O3-SiO2) molds and sand molds. The best casting product that has a small porosity is the AlMg10Si make of permanent molding. The small porosity effect causes the AlMg10Si material to become harder. The oxy-acetylene welding results show that the AlMg10Si + composite material reinforced by 15% SiC particles, has a fine discontinuity when the liquid penetrant test, which means that very small cracks occur, and potholes result from casting. This composite material has enormous energy to break is 0.94 Joule at impact test. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

This paper aims to facilitate the owner to control water pump machine from the vacuum, and the condition of the water is it full or not in house or apartment. The current control system still has many limitations in controlling the water pump machine at home or apartment. The water machine control system was designed with device that has a smart surveillance system that can be accessed with Android smartphone and all information from or to machine control system will command by using SMS, this device create a development of Arduino UNO microcontroller technology that allows the reading of the GSM Module and connected with SMS Gateway. Experiment results facilitate real-time water control and much easy for the owner to control water tank. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The k nearest neighbor (kNN) is a traditional supervised classifier used in data mining tasks. However, when used in real applications, mainly in a dataset with class imbalance or class overlap, kNN suffers with problems in accuracy performance. In this paper, we propose three prototype selection methods using self-organizing maps (SOM) and information entropy to increase the effectiveness of the kNN classifier in datasets with these conditions. The methods, named SOMEntropyKnn, were able to increase the effectiveness of the kNN classifier in all the 14 datasets used in the experiment, increasing the accuracy performance from datasets with imbalance or overlap problems.

Currently, the discussion about smart city becomes a trend topic in which the development of the Internet of Thing (IoT) is used in various sectors including in the manufacturing sector where the Indonesian government is intensively increasing the capacity and production quality. The use of IoT in both smart manufacture and smart city become an interesting thing topic for research and the combination of the new technology Blockchain, may proof the reliability of data. Trust, transparent, secure, real time online process as a new phenomenon to merge IoT with Blockchain technology into smart manufacturing technology. However, for maintaining quality and sustainability, required technology governance so the achievement of implementation can be done well. This research uses the method called Systematic Literature Review (SLR) find the Blockchain adoption factors for Smart Manufacturing Technology Governance and the research conducted on several reputable publications. The result found, there are 35 adoption success factors found from the adoption of blockchain technology into smart manufacture industry. The influence of the technology governance process in smart manufacture industry increase sustainability, realtime and accurate decision making for the industry. © 2018 IEEE.

Valley notch filter in a graphene strain superlattice: a Green’s function and machine learning approach

The valley transport properties of a superlattice of out-of-plane Gaussians deformations are calculated using a Green’s function and a Machine Learning approach. Our results show that periodicity significantly improves the valley filter capabilities of a single Gaussian deformation, these manifest themselves in the conductance as a sequence by valley filter plateaus. We establish that the physical effect behind the observed valley notch filter is the coupling between counter-propagating transverse modes;the complex relationship between the design parameters of the superlattice and the valley filter effect make difficult to estimate in advance the valley filter potentialities of a given superlattice. With this in mind, we show that a Deep Neural Network can be trained to predict valley transmission with a precision similar to the Green’s function but with much less computational effort. This study studies that has the aim to apply Sutte Indicator to assist the investor to make the decision-making process of buying or selling of their stocks. The data of this study obtained from Stock of PT. Astra Agro Lestari Tbk. (AALI) on Yahoo Finance website. The period of data from 5 April 2001 to 20 September 2016. To check the performance of the predicting, it compare Sutte Indicator with other technical analysis: Moving Average Convergence/Divergence (MACD) and Simple Moving Average (SMA) and the check of the reliability using the mean absolute deviation (MAD), mean of square error (MSE), and mean absolute percentage error (MAPE). © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Information technology plays an essential role in the business world because it may affect the operations of the organization within the organization that also uses information technology to provide information. One of the departments that use information technology is the Information engineering Department of Musamus Merauke University, which is used to provide information related to the Department of Information engineering. But in the use of information technology is still flawed. Therefore, it is necessary to have a standard in information technology management to measure overall standards and governance in information technology management, ie using COBIT. Based on this study, we will design an information technology management model for the Department of Information engineering. Control objectives for information and related technologies (COBIT) are 4 (4) primary domains, including domains, planning, and organization (PO), acquisition and implementation (AI), transmission and support (DS) and tracking. And evaluating (ME) in research. This will use two domains, namely the delivery domain and support (DS) and monitoring and evaluation (ME) by adjusting the problems and requirements of the information engineering department in the arrangement. Information technology support for information technology service processes and support for monitoring and evaluation of information technology, the results showed that the level of maturity of information technology supervision in the information engineering department is at level 2. Therefore, information technology in the engineering department Information must be updated to the expected level.
