Although genome-wide association studies have identified more than eighty genetic variants associated with non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)risk,biological mechanisms of these variants remain largely *** integrating a large-scale genotype data of 15581 lung adenocarcinoma(AD)cases,8350 squamous cell carcinoma(SqCC)cases,and 27355 controls,as well as multiple transcriptome and epigenomic databases,we conducted histology-specific meta-analyses and functional annotations of both reported and novel susceptibility *** identified 3064 credible risk variants for NSCLC,which were overrepresented in enhancer-like and promoter-like histone modification peaks as well as DNase I hypersensitive *** factor enrichment analysis revealed that USF1 was AD-specific while CREB1 was *** annotation and genebased analysis implicated 894 target genes,including 274 specifics for AD and 123 for SqCC,which were overrepresented in somatic driver genes(ER=1.95,P=0.005).Pathway enrichment analysis and Gene-Set Enrichment Analysis revealed that AD genes were primarily involved in immune-related pathways,while SqCC genes were homologous recombination deficiency *** results illustrate the molecular basis of both wellstudied and new susceptibility loci of NSCLC,providing not only novel insights into the genetic heterogeneity between AD and SqCC but also a set of plausible gene targets for post-GWAS functional experiments.

Smart mathematics: a kindergarten student learning media based on the drill and practice model

Teachers still face difficulties in catching up to new teaching methods, especially the kindergarten teachers. The problem is their inadequate application of relevant advanced learning media technology. This should have been done by integrating learning and playing, in an enjoyable atmosphere, to stimulate the creativity of children. This research aimed to enhance kindergarten cognitive ability of children in understanding general knowledge, general science, and the concepts of shape, pattern, size, and color using the drill and practice model, and identify effectiveness application of interactive multimedia on the learning outcome of students. This development of interactive multimedia application was storyboard-driven and employed the Hannafin and Peck methodology. During the research, 30 Islamic kindergarten student all over Batam was involved. The interactive multimedia application evaluation included pre-test and post-test. The data from these tests were then analyzed using the quantitative descriptive method. The evaluation consisted of the functional and significance test. Based on the pre-test and post-test results, the significance test resulted in Sig. (2-tailed) < 0.05, which indicated the effectiveness of the interactive multimedia application.

The Effect of Blended Learning Model to Improve the Conceptual Understanding of Computer and Network engineering Students

Grounded by students' lack of conceptual understanding in identifying and comprehending basic concepts of computer network, this quasi-experimental study aims to identify the effect of applying blended learning model toward the improvement of students' conceptual understanding. It was designed using non-equivalent control group design in which the experimental group and the control group were differently treated using, respectively, blended learning and conventional learning model. There were 58 students selected as the sample of the research; 30 students in experimental class and 28 students in control class. Essay test was chosen to collect the data of the conceptual understanding of the students in both groups. Using MANOVA, the data analysis revealed the significant effect of applying blended learning model toward students' conceptual understanding with P = 0.000 < 0.05 of significance level. In conclusion, the result of study identified that 1) the students who taught using blended learning model performed better mastery of basic concepts of computer network with the average score was 74.86, valued in high category; 2) there was a significant difference of conceptual understanding improvement between the group taught by applying blended learning and those by conventional learning model in learning basic computer network.

This study aims to determine the best distance to install a CCTV camera in identifying a person's face in the passenger inspection area at the airport, which can be developed for suspect detection systems. The training data used is in the form of an image with five different angles per person, while the testing data is in the form of video. The initial stage conducted is face detection based on local features (a pair of eyes, nose, and mouth) in the input data using the Viola-Jones method. The face detection results process with pre-processing, feature extraction, and classification. In the pre-processing stage, the Brightness Enhancement (BE), Grayscale and Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE) methods are used to improve the quality of the detected face. Furthermore, the feature extraction and classification stages use the Histogram of Oriented Gradient (HOG) and the Multi-class Support Vector Machine (MSVM) methods, respectively. The result shows that the best accuracy obtained is 86.76% for a CCTV camera distance of 300 cm and a height of 250 cm.

The prototype Large-Sized Telescope (LST-1) of the Cherenkov Telescope Array Observatory (CTAO) is in commissioning phase at the Observatorio del Roque de Los Muchachos at 2200 m a.s.l. in La Palma (Canary Islands, Spain). LST-1 is a 23-m diameter telescope and is the first of four that will compose the LST part of the CTAO Northern array. The LST subarray is optimized to provide the best sensitivity for gamma rays in the 20 GeV - 200 GeV energy range. The MAGIC telescopes, which are located approximately 100 m from the LST-1, is operating as a two 17-m telescope stereoscopic system for more than 14 years. LST-1 and MAGIC routinely perform joint observations of gamma-ray sources to exploit the potential of the three-telescope system. This contribution describes the analysis pipeline and evaluates the performance of the system using Monte Carlo simulations and data on the Crab Nebula. The sensitivity achieved during joint observations with MAGIC and LST-1 is about 30% higher than that of MAGIC alone. © Copyright owned by the author(s) under the terms of the Creative Commons.

The Cherenkov Telescope Array (CTA) will be the next generation gamma-ray observatory, which will consist of three kinds of telescopes of different sizes. Among those, the Large Size Telescope (LST) will be the most sensitive in the low energy range starting from 20 GeV. The prototype LST (LST-1) proposed for CTA was inaugurated in October 2018 in the northern hemisphere site, La Palma (Spain), and is currently in its commissioning phase. MAGIC is a system of two gamma-ray Cherenkov telescopes of the current generation, located approximately 100 m away from LST-1, that have been operating in stereoscopic mode since 2009. Since LST-1 and MAGIC can observe the same air shower events, we can compare the brightness of showers, estimated energies of gamma rays, and other parameters event by event, which can be used to cross-calibrate the telescopes. Ultimately, by performing combined analyses of the events triggering the three telescopes, we can reconstruct the shower geometry more accurately, leading to better energy and angular resolutions, and a better discrimination of the background showers initiated by cosmic rays. For that purpose, as part of the commissioning of LST-1, we performed joint observations of established gamma-ray sources with LST-1 and MAGIC. Also, we have developed Monte Carlo simulations for such joint observations and an analysis pipeline which finds event coincidence in the offline analysis based on their timestamps. In this work, we present the first detection of an astronomical source, the Crab Nebula, with combined observation of LST-1 and MAGIC. Computer and web security system is an attempt to avoid attacks from crackers because a form and method of crime on internet network can not be predicted. Therefore, we just keep trying to use various methods in securing the system that is running. It is the same in web testing that can be accessed online by people who are not responsible from along distance to change and remove the test results or even damage the web testing system. So, the purpose of this paper is to design and implement web security testing system by using semantic comparison method to avoid structured query language injection (SQLI) attack and to do security on web testing application using Message Digest 5 encryption (MD5). Research data were obtained by using direct observation and documentation and literature review. After the design and application of the system, it can be obtained that by using semantic comparison method in web testing can prevent the occurrence of SQL injection attacks and can secure account from web testing users by using MD5. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Predicting how genetic variation affects phenotypic outcomes at the organismal, cellular, and molecular levels requires deciphering the cis-regulatory code, the sequence rules by which non-coding regions regulate genes. In this perspective, we discuss recent computational progress and challenges towards solving this fundamental problem. We describe how cis-regulatory elements are mapped and how their sequence rules can be learned and interpreted with sequence-to-function neural networks, with the goal of identifying genetic variants in human disease. We also discuss how studies of the 3D chromatin organization could help identifying long-range regulatory effects and how current methods for mapping gene regulatory networks could better describe biological processes. We point out current gaps in knowledge along with technical limitations and benchmarking challenges of computational methods. Finally, we discuss newly emerging technologies, such as spatial transcriptomics, and outline strategies for creating a more general model of the cis-regulatory code that is more broadly applicable across cell types and individuals. © 2024, CC BY-NC-SA.

Association of Fine Motor Loss and Allodynia in Fibromyalgia: An fNIRS Study (vol 50, pg 664, 2017)

Recent studies showed that fine motor control dysfunction was observed in fibromyalgia (FM) syndrome as well as allodynia. However, brain signatures of this association still remain unclear. In this study, finger tapping task (FTT) and median nerve stimulation (MNS) were applied to both hands of 15 FM patients and healthy controls (HC) to understand this relationship. Hemodynamic activity was measured simultaneously using functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS). Experiments were analyzed separately by using 2x2 repeated measures ANOVA. Results for the FTT experiment revealed that HC showed higher activity than FM patients in bilateral superior parietal gyrus (SPG), left supramarginal gyrus (SMG) and right somatosensory cortex (SI). Furthermore, right-hand FTT resulted in higher activity than left-hand FTT in left SPG, left SI and right motor cortex (MI). In the MNS experiment, FM patients showed higher activity than HC in bilateral SPG, right SMG, right SI and right middle frontal gyrus (MFG). Negative correlation was observed in left SPG between FTT and MNS activities. Besides, MNS activity in left SPG was negatively correlated with left-hand pain *** study revealed that left SPG might be an important indicator to associate fine motor loss and allodynia in FM.

The purpose of this research is to know how influence of mixture of pertamax with Tuak Nias (Tuonifaro) to fuel consumption at 125 cc engine To prove that Tuak Nias or Tuonifaro can be used as fuel mixture on motorcycle and examine how big influence of mix between Tuak Nias or Tuonifaro with Pertamax, conducting research by literature study method or literature study. Many authors use various supporting / input factors and supporting books related to the titles discussed. because Tuak Nias or tuonifaro contain low 4-5% ethanonic elements and contain 90% alcoholic elements so that the fuel easily burns easily in the combustion chamber and produces great power.
