A transponder-based positioning method using audible sounds for a large-scale area positioning has been proposed by the authors. The proposed method has two characteristics;it employs audible sounds instead of ultrasounds to measure long distance by using audible sounds, and it achieves positioning without clock synchronization among devices which is required additional equipment such as radio wave. However, positioning of the moving object (terminal) is still challenging because the proposed method requires longer measurement time than other methods since it measures the round-trip time of flight (TOF) among the terminal and the anchors (transponders). In this paper, we evaluated the effect of the terminal movement on positioning in simulations and experiments. From simulations and experimental results, it was found that the effect of Doppler and the terminal movement cause random error and offset in TOF/distance, respectively. Consequently, it was found that our proposed method is sensitive to the terminal movement. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

BACKGROUND:This study aimed to identify adverse events following the first three doses of COVID-19 vaccines in hemodialysis (HD) patients. Risk factors associated with postvaccination adverse events were explored. METHODS:Postvaccination adverse events in 438 HD patients who received 3 doses of COVID-19 vaccines were prospectively assessed. The adverse events among three doses were compared using generalized linear mixed models. Factors associated with adverse events were assessed with multivariate analyses. RESULTS:The vast majority of participants received Oxford/AstraZeneca ChAdOx1 as their first two doses and Moderna mRNA-1273 as their third dose. Overall, 79%, 50% and 84% of the participants experienced at least one adverse event after their first, second, and third doses, respectively. These adverse events were mostly minor, short-lived and less than 5% reported daily activities being affected. Compared with the first dose, the second dose caused a lower rate of adverse events. Compared with the first dose, the third dose elicited a higher rate of injection site reactions and a lower rate of systemic reactions. Multivariate analyses showed that every 10-year increase of age (odds ratio 0.67, 95% confidence intervals 0.57-0.79) was associated with decreased risk of adverse events, while female sex (2.82, 1.90-4.18) and arteriovenous fistula (1.73, 1.05-2.84) were associated with increased risk of adverse events. Compared with Oxford/AstraZeneca ChAdOx1, Moderna mRNA-1273 was associated with an increased risk of injection site reactions. CONCLUSIONS:COVID-19 vaccination was well tolerated in HD patients. Age, sex, dialysis vascular access and vaccine types were associated with postvaccination adverse events.

Surface electromyography(sEMG) measurement has been an essential approach to analyze human behaviors because we can generally consider that sEMG signals represent the muscle activities as the final output of our nerve system. One of the most serious problems for considering sEMG signal as the muscle activity is the shift of the relative position between muscles and skin depending on a posture. The motion of forearm rotation is the prominent example of muscle-skin shifting depending on postural changes. The sEMG signal from a sensor may represent the different muscle activity when the muscle-skin shifting is happened. In this study, we discuss a method to quantify the muscle-skin shift from the sEMG signals in response to the postural changes. We use the high density sEMG sensor that is possible to measure sEMG signal as the potential map. We proposed the computation algorithm to quantify the amount of muscle-skin shifting based on the change of the sEMG signals in response to the postural changes. We conducted the experiments of wrist extension motions under three different forearm postures: forearm pronation, natural posture and forearm supination. Experimental results from three healthy subjects show that we can quantify the extent of muscle-skin shifting as an angle by using proposed algorithm.

Game Relations and Functions are digital game-based learning in junior high school mathematics subjects. In this study will discuss how to use the game Relationships and Functions that have been designed using the Balanced Design method. The research method used was a quasi-experiment with the One group Pretest Post-test design. A total of 40 junior high school students were involved in this study to determine differences in student learning outcomes in the cognitive domain before and after using the Relationship and Function games. The instrument used is a type of multiple choice objective test of 20 questions with details of 8 questions related to relations material and 12 questions related to functions material. The results showed that there were differences in the improvement of student learning outcomes before and after using the game Relations and Functions in Mathematics subjects.

Medical record (MedRec) of the patient is derived from several healthcare providers i.e. hospital, the national provider, and laboratories which contains personally identifiable information test yet referred to therapeutic procedures and medications of the patient. MedRec has been compiled and maintained by several providers thus resulting in separated and disseminated the data among the parties. Mostly, the MedRecs are stored in provider's database and the patients have no control to manage and access their data. Hence, in this paper, we propose a conceptual model for managing the data of medical record using blockchain technology in the peer-to-peer network with several protocols are embedded in the system. The proposed model aims to facilitate the patients in order to manage their data from various providers into a single view. Blockchain offers the promise of an immutable, single source of truth from multiple sources and facilitates a trust as well as validates an identity without the third-party involvement.

Objective : Correlations between minimum joint space width (mJSW) and MRI-based cartilage thickness are strong in cross-sectional analyses and moderate in longitudinal analyses, possibly due to knee rotation and flexion. This study investigates the effect of knee positioning during radiographic acquisition on the difference between mJSW and MRI-based cartilage thickness. Methods : Radiographic mJSW from the index knee was determined from baseline (265 patients) and 24-month follow-up (165 patients) on fixed-flexion radiographs from IMI-APPROACH (multicenter OA study) patients using automated software. Statistical Shape Models were used to quantify knee rotation and flexion on radiographs. Cartilage thickness was assessed by manual segmentation from MRI. Differences between mJSW (radiographs) and cartilage thickness (MRI) were assessed at baseline and follow-up. Multivariable linear regression was used to evaluate the impact of knee flexion and rotation on the difference between mJSW and cartilage thickness. Results : In cross-sectional analysis, differences between X-ray and MRI were significantly influenced by knee rotation (β = -0.18, P < 0.001). Longitudinal change in differences between X-ray and MRI were associated with changes in knee flexion (β = 0.19, P=0.002). Increases of one standard deviation in internal rotation and extension at follow-up resulted in a 0.2 mm false surrogate measurement of cartilage changes on radiographs. Conclusion : Quantified knee positioning significantly affects differences between mJSW measured on radiographs and MRI-based cartilage thickness. The longitudinal analyses revealed that knee flexion was related to these differences, while knee rotation was only related to cross-sectional differences. These findings highlight the importance of knee positioning during radiographic acquisition in contributing to false surrogate measurement of cartilage status and cartilage change.

Image magnification is one of the branches in digital image processing that is often required in various applications such as in the field of medicine, multimedia, and in satellite imagery. As technology grows, more and more methods are used for image enlargement. In this study, the image enlargement process performs by using Bi-Cubic spline interpolation method, and the result of image try to compare between the original one and picture after enlargement. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

A novel two-stage age prediction approach with group-specific features is proposed in this paper. Aging process is captured through a highly discriminating feature representation that models shape, appearance, skin spots, and wrinkles. The two-stage method consists of a multi-class Support Vector Machine (SVM) to predict the age bracket while the final age prediction is carried out using Support Vector Regression (SVR). The novelty of our work is that the feature extraction is group-specific and can therefore be tailored to each age bracket in the specific age prediction step. The FG-NET Aging dataset was used to evaluate the proposed method and an impressive mean absolute error (MAE) of 3.98 was achieved. Our approach outperforms the current state-of-the-art while increasing the robustness to blur, expression and lighting variation with local phase features. © 2017 IEEE.

The Open Databases Integration for Materials Design (OPTIMADE) consortium has designed a universal application programming interface (API) to make materials databases accessible and interoperable. We outline the first stable release of the specification, v1.0, which is already supported by many leading databases and several software packages. We illustrate the advantages of the OPTIMADE API through worked examples on each of the public materials databases that support the full API specification. © 2021, CC BY.

The role of climate can be affected by plants. The weather can accelerate and multiply the existence of various plant pests and diseases, accelerate the growth and development of grass among plants, and encourage the emergence of infection and significant damage to plants. The elements of climate that affect the growth of plants are one of them is rainfall. In this paper, we performed the simulation using the non-parametric penalized spline (PSPLINE) method and studied the effect on rice production in Lampung. It can be concluded that the increasing fluctuation, frequency, and intensity of climate anomalies in the last decade caused by the ENSO phenomenon have an impact on changes in distribution patterns, intensity, and period of the wet season so that the start of the rainy season and the dry season becomes too late. As a result, there is a seasonal shift from normal average conditions that can ultimately have severe implications for food crops. In a nutshell penalized spline gives high accuracy with R 2 = 96.227% and MAPE = 1.62%. © 2018 Institute of Physics Publishing. All rights reserved.
