Free vibration of orthotropic Levy-type solution plates by using SEM

Orthotropic Levy-type solution plates considering shear deformation were solved by using the Spectral Element Method (SEM). In SEM, the exact solution of structural dynamic related problems can be solved by using the frequency-dependent shape functions. The solutions of SEM are accurate in decreasing the amount of Degree Of Freedoms (DOF) to discard the cost and computational disadvantages in the Finite Element Method (FEM). This study investigates the free vibration problems of orthotropic Levy-type solution plates solutions based on the two variable Refined Plate Theory (RPT). SEM for orthotropic Levy-type solution plates in the frequency domain was formulated to solve free vibration problems. The differential governing equations of the orthotropic plate element in SEM are formulated into the form of transcendental stiffness matrices. The boundary conditions of the spectral element model consist of four edge-type DOFs at each side of the orthotropic Levy-type solution plates. The natural frequencies of the plate are calculated by means of the Wittrick-Williams procedure. The numerical investigations are presented to show the accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness of SEM without any discretization scheme.

Currently, the growth of information and technology is rapid. It makes a lot of things in various fields including education becoming more effective and efficient. In education, one of its implementation which is a game is proven to be a useful tool to support conventional teaching methods and bring a more natural understanding of learning materials. Moreover, as a product of the popular culture in modern society, video game mirrors the general culture practice in real life and reflects it via its own culture inside the game. This makes a video game can give a contribution to the social construction of reality as it affects the player's view towards learning in real life and vice versa. From there, we see that there is an opportunity for learning about religion to be supported by its utilization to provide an interactive and fun learning experience. In this paper, we discuss how a video game is implemented to support religious learning. The game was developed with the scrum method where we surveyed to gather the user requirements before the design step. The game design was made by using the use case diagram and storyboard, and it was built using Unity version 2017.3.0f3.

The 2013 curriculum requires teachers to be more productive, creative, and innovative in encouraging students to be more independent by strengthening attitudes, skills and knowledge. Teachers are given the options to create lesson plan according to the environment and conditions of their students. At the junior level, Core Competence (KI) and Basic Competence (KD) have been completely designed. In addition, there had already guidebooks, both for teacher manuals (Master's Books) and for learners (Student Books). The lesson plan and guidebooks which already exist are intended only for learning in the classroom/in-school. Many alternative classrooms and alternatives learning models opened up using educational technology. The advance of educational technology opened opportunity for combination of class interaction using mobile learning applications. Mobile learning has rapidly evolved in education for the last ten years and many initiatives have been conducted worldwide. However, few of these efforts have produced any lasting outcomes. It is evident that mobile education applications are complex and hence, will not become sustainable. Long-term sustainability remains a risk. Long-term sustainability usually was resulted from continuous adaptation to changing conditions [4]. Frameworks are therefore required to avoid sustainability pitfalls. The implementation should start from simple environment then gradually become complex through adaptation steps. Therefore, our paper developed the framework of mobile learning (m-learning) adaptation for grade 7th (junior high school). The environment setup was blended mobile learning (not full mobile learning) and emphasize on Algebra. The research is done by R&D method (research and development). Results of the framework includes requirements and adaptation steps. This paper proposes a novel approach for content based graphical object retrieval in document images. The challenge is to search for occurrences of a queried graphical objects in document images that can vary in terms of color, shape, texture and quality, increasing considerably the level of difficulty of the retrieval process. To that end, the manual feature engineering is avoided by learning the image representation for the retrieval task using a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). However, such a representation should be as compact as possible to allow a fast document image retrieval and storage. Thus, a pretrained CNN model is used to cope with the lack of training data, which is fine tuned to achieve a compact yet discriminant representation of the graphical objects. From experiments conducted on the public Tobacco800 document image collection, we show that the proposed method compares favorably against state-of-the-art document image retrieval methods, reaching 0.72 of average precision (mAP). In addition, an increase of 4 percentage points in the average precision is observed using a compact deep representation in which the number of features is reduced by 16 times, thus allowing a reduction of 47% in terms of computation time by the image retrieval task.

The Hospital is the most complex and representative establishment of the society and nowadays, among the most costly ones. ICTs may rationalize personnel-efforts and reduce energy and material-wasting, to enable health-care coverage, of unprivileged social-groups. The aim of the paper is to present the most effective and efficient means and tools, reducing unnecessary cost, as Mobile IP-network, Service-oriented architecture, provided to other components, through a communication protocol, over a network, Ubiquitous-computing, Femtocells, small, low-power cellular base-stations, typically designed for use in a hospital-department, ward-room or unit, Wireless mesh-networks, made-up of radio-nodes, organized in a mesh-topology, supporting intra-hospital data-exchange, training Multimedia-sharing over wireless networks, for real-time or compressed data-streaming over IP/wireless-networks for communication or archiving. Green-computing in wireless-networks, are limiting people and material intrahospital 'circulation' and, thus, they are enabling the necessary environmentally friendly and smooth procedures. A wearable soft robot for movement assistance on eyelid closure

We present a facial wearable robot to support eyelid movement for patients with hemifacial paralysis. People with facial paralysis are not able to blink, which leads to dry eyes and could cause permanent damage to the cornea. To address this issue, we developed a robotic system to support eyelid movement on the paralyzed side based on voluntary eyelid movement on the healthy side. The robot has a novel mechanism for supporting eyelid movement and is made from soft material, which we call the eyelid gating mechanism (ELGM). We defined the requirements for eyelid manipulation. Then, we introduced design rules for the ELGM based on this definition, and conducted a deformation analysis. As a result, we could control deformation so that it is tailored to eyelid movement with simple rotational input at two hinged ends. This system provides appropriate support for eyelid movement in a non-invasive and gentle manner, based on voluntary eyelid movement on the healthy side. In this paper, we present a performance evaluation of the developed ELGM and the wearable facial robot. We confirm that ELGM could aid eyelid closure in 8 out of 10 patients. Further, we find that the time lag between eyelid closure detection and completion was 236.9 ± 19.4 ms. © 2018, The Author(s).

Ontology Design of Influential People Identification Using Centrality

Identifying influential people as a node in a graph theory commonly calculated by social network analysis. The social network data has the user as node and edge as relation forming a friend relation graph. This research is conducting different meaning of every nodes relation in the social network. Ontology was perfect match science to describe the social network data as conceptual and domain. Ontology gives essential relationship in a social network more than a current graph. Ontology proposed as a standard for knowledge representation for the semantic web by World Wide Web Consortium. The formal data representation use Resource Description Framework (RDF) and Web Ontology Language (OWL) which is strategic for Open Knowledge-Based website data. Ontology used in the semantic description for a relationship in the social network, it is open to developing semantic based relationship ontology by adding and modifying various and different relationship to have influential people as a conclusion. This research proposes a model using OWL and RDF for influential people identification in the social network. The study use degree centrality, between ness centrality, and closeness centrality measurement for data validation. As a conclusion, influential people identification in Facebook can use proposed Ontology model in the Group, Photos, Photo Tag, Friends, Events and Works data.

Although machine learning (ML) has shown promise in numerous domains, there are concerns about generalizability to out-of-sample data. This is currently addressed by centrally sharing ample, and importantly diverse, data from multiple sites. However, such centralization is challenging to scale (or even not feasible) due to various limitations. Federated ML (FL) provides an alternative to train accurate and generalizable ML models, by only sharing numerical model updates. Here we present findings from the largest FL study to-date, involving data from 71 healthcare institutions across 6 continents, to generate an automatic tumor boundary detector for the rare disease of glioblastoma, utilizing the largest dataset of such patients ever used in the literature (25,256 MRI scans from 6,314 patients). We demonstrate a 33% improvement over a publicly trained model to delineate the surgically targetable tumor, and 23% improvement over the tumor's entire extent. We anticipate our study to: 1) enable more studies in healthcare informed by large and diverse data, ensuring meaningful results for rare diseases and underrepresented populations, 2) facilitate further quantitative analyses for glioblastoma via performance optimization of our consensus model for eventual public release, and 3) demonstrate the effectiveness of FL at such scale and task complexity as a paradigm shift for multi-site collaborations, alleviating the need for data sharing. © 2022, CC BY.

With the improved sensitivity with respect to the previous generation, current space-borne and ground-based gamma-ray telescopes have made the number of γ-ray sources detected at GeV-TeV energies increase many folds over the last decade. Many of the detected extended gamma-ray sources are not associated with any known sources at other wavelengths. Understanding the nature of these sources and the origin of the observed high energy gamma-ray emission remains a great challenge. Using the MAGIC telescopes, we have observed one such unassociated gamma-ray source, named HESS J1841-055 at TeV energies. We investigate the physical nature and origin of the γ-ray emission from this extended source. In this paper, we present the results of our detailed investigation on this source using MAGIC data and other multi-waveband information on nearby sources. The results included in this proceeding and shown in this presentation were published in ref. [1].
