With the popularity of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), there is an increasing demand for autonomous navigation applications, which require the use of high-definition mapping techniques of the environments. However, in highly dynamic environments, maps need to be updated regularly, which has an impact on the path planning algorithms used by the autonomous navigation system. A deterministic energy-efficient solution for a straightforward path in the path planning is computationally exhaustive. To overcome this limitation, recent solutions based on edge computing aim to provide safe and energy-efficient solutions to assist UAVs in autonomous navigation. This paper proposes an energy-efficient map building and sharing framework for multiple UAV systems. The proposed system uses edge servers to merge a global map that incorporates all Simultaneous Localization and Mapping updates, providing UAVs with consistent maps that are efficiently updated. The proposed system is evaluated and tested in laboratory, and field experiments. The field tests revealed that the object detection and classification model obtained a median efficiency rate of around 95%, even with a median packet loss rate between 25% and 35%. For the benefit of the community, we make public the source code.

Design of Waste Management System Using QR Code for Effective Management in Wastebank

Waste management is one of the problems faced in almost every city in Indonesia. One way to manage waste is through the waste bank. The business process of a waste bank is similar to a bank, but it is processed in the form of inorganic waste that has been sorted. In general, data management in waste banks is still conventional but the others have used of web-based or mobile technology. But in this way there are still some weaknesses such as the the time needed to input the collected waste data because the data cannot be directly entered into the system. In addition it can occur inaccurately entered data. The proposed method is using the QR code for the waste management system. In this method, admin only need to scan the QR code label attached on the waste bin stored above the weighing device using a smartphone camera. With this system QR scanner application based on mobile can be synchronized automatically with anroid smartphone. Admin then input the weight of the waste that is weighed and will be stored in the database. In this way the data input process can be faster and with the use of QR code, more data can be stored.

Due to its significant applications in magnetic devices for cell separation, magnetic drugs for cancer tumor treatment, blood flow adjustment during surgery, magnetic endoscopy, and fluid pumping in industrial and engineering processes, magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) has a wide range of applications. Therefore, the aim of this study to investigate the Relative Magnetic Field and slipping effect on Casson dusty fluid of two-phase fluctuating flow over inclined parallel plate. More exactly, the relative magnetic phenomena are fixed relatively to the plate (MFFRP) or fixed relatively to the fluid (MFFRF). The mathematical modeling was established as the set of partial differential equations for dusty Casson fluid. Buckingham's pi theorem is used to find out the dimensionless variables, to make our system dimensionless. The solution in perturb form is to find out by incorporating Poincare–Lighthill perturbation technique (PLPT). To know in-depth different parameters the graphical results for both velocities are plotted with the help of software Mathcad- 15. It is clearly detected that the relative magnetic field performs a vital part in the fluid as well as particle motion. Moreover, the relative magnetic field play a vital role in the decreasing of skin friction of both plates. © 2023

Quantum annealing technologies aim to solve combinatorial optimization and sampling problems. Studies on combi-natorial optimization problems include the selection of vehicle routes on road traffic, known as the NP-hard problem. We propose a vehicle route problem that can be formulated in the Quadratic Unconstrained Binary Optimization (QUBO) model as a combina-torial problem to optimize vehicle route selection. The solution aims to optimize the vehicle’s journey to reach a destination. The experiment presents a formulation to solve traffic congestion problems on certain roads. The selection of vehicle routes results in optimizing the distribution of alternative road vehicle flows. The level of road density is a cost function that will be optimized, and the constraint is a limitation on the route choice for each vehicle. This vehicle routing problem considers the weight parameter (as distance in actual road conditions) of the road segment that affects the cost function. The simulations on the D-Wave quantum annealer show optimal results on the route deployment of several vehicles. The cost value on route choice with weighted segments gives better results than in previous studies. Each vehicle can go through different road options and accurately reduce road conges-tion. This solution provides an opportunity to develop QUBO modeling on more complex vehicle routing problems to reduce road congestion.

Information technology plays an essential role in the business world because it may affect the operations of the organization within the organization that also uses information technology to provide information. One of the departments that use information technology is the Information engineering Department of Musamus Merauke University, which is used to provide information related to the Department of Information engineering. But in the use of information technology is still flawed. Therefore, it is necessary to have a standard in information technology management to measure overall standards and governance in information technology management, ie using COBIT. Based on this study, we will design an information technology management model for the Department of Information engineering. Control objectives for information and related technologies (COBIT) are 4 (4) primary domains, including domains, planning, and organization (PO), acquisition and implementation (AI), transmission and support (DS) and tracking. And evaluating (ME) in research. This will use two domains, namely the delivery domain and support (DS) and monitoring and evaluation (ME) by adjusting the problems and requirements of the information engineering department in the arrangement. Information technology support for information technology service processes and support for monitoring and evaluation of information technology, the results showed that the level of maturity of information technology supervision in the information engineering department is at level 2. Vocational graduates supposedly have the competencies following the purpose of vocational education: preparing medium-skilled labor in a particular area that corresponded with the industrial needs. The 21st-century learning, among others, was signified with a learning process that optimizing the brain function. In the 21st-century, businesses and industries tend to demand skilled labors in digital literacy, technology literacy, and human literacy. Thus, vocational education should be able to innovate and create to respond to the challenge and opportunity from the 21st-century implication through revitalizing the vocational education, involving learning system, education units, learners, educators, and educational staffs. A suitable learning system for the 21st-century is a life-based learning model. Life-based learning in vocational education could be performed through industrial practice, industrial class, and teaching factory activities. These three approaches aimed to bring the learning activities closer with real-life work at the workplace through field practices. With life-based learning at the real workplace, students would develop a discipline, responsible, teamwork, and work culture habits as provisions after finishing the vocational education.

Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) poses a significant health challenge, necessitating accurate predictions of neurological outcomes in comatose patients, where good outcomes are defined as the recovery of most cognitive functions. Electroencephalogram (EEG) serves as a valuable biomarker for monitoring neurological states due to its rich, time-dependent information. This study aims to predict neurological outcomes using early EEG data by employing the Transformer model, which leverages multi-headed attention to identify patterns in lengthy sequences such as hour-long EEG recordings. Unlike traditional methods that use subsampled EEG epochs, we utilize the entire EEG sequences, subdivided into time steps, allowing our model to capture detailed temporal patterns via the attention mechanism. Moreover, we trained our proposed model using each EEG recording as an individual data sample but evaluated our model through aggregated patient-wise predictions. This approach allows us to boost the data sample size. Our results demonstrate promising predictive performance, achieving an AUROC of 0.82 and AUPRC of 0.90 on the holdout test set and an AUROC of 0.73 and AUPRC of 0.93 on an external test set with patient-wise predictions. This study highlights the potential of utilizing attention mechanisms to capture important time series progressions across EEG sequences for improving SCA prognosis.

Activity and student learning outcomes are still low on the material crossing-over Therefore, an Android-based learning media is needed as a supplement to the Genetics course. The type of research is research and development using a 4-D model. This article reports the defined stage (student needs questionnaire design). Questionnaire design stages, namely 1) plan the variable to be measured, 2) the questionnaire formulation, and 3) examination and repair. The results of the study obtained a questionnaire with 3 variables and 3 indicators of student needs for Android-based learning media. Variables and indicators number 1 consist of 11 items of questions. Variables and indicators number 2 consist of 1 question item. Variables and indicators number 3 consists of 1 question item. The quality of research data depends on the quality of the instrument and the quality of the data collection techniques.

Realistic river image synthesis using deep generative adversarial networks

In this paper, we demonstrated a practical application of realistic river image generation using deep learning. Specifically, we explored a generative adversarial network (GAN) model capable of generating high-resolution and realistic river images that can be used to support modeling and analysis in surface water estimation, river meandering, wetland loss, and other hydrological research studies. First, we have created an extensive repository of overhead river images to be used in training. Second, we incorporated the Progressive Growing GAN (PGGAN), a network architecture that iteratively trains smaller-resolution GANs to gradually build up to a very high resolution to generate high quality (i.e., 1024x1024) synthetic river imagery. With simpler GAN architectures, difficulties arose in terms of exponential increase of training time and vanishing/exploding gradient issues, which the PGGAN implementation seemed to significantly reduce. The results presented in this study show great promise in generating high-quality images and capturing the details of river structure and flow to support hydrological research, which often requires extensive imagery for model performance.
