Background: Arsenic exposure can cause adverse health effects. The effects of long-term low-to-moderate exposure and methylations remain unclear. Objective: This study aims to examine the association between low-to-moderate arsenic exposure and urothelial tract cancers while considering the effects of methylation capacity. Methods: In this study, 5,811 participants were recruited from an arseniasis area in Taiwan for inorganic arsenic metabolite analysis. This follow-up study was conducted between August 1995 and December 2017. We identified 85 urothelial tract cancers in these participants, including 49 bladder and 36 upper urothelial tract cancer cases. A Cox proportional hazards model was employed. Results: The analyses revealed a significant association between concentrations of inorganic arsenic in water > 100 ug/L and bladder cancer occurrence, with a hazard ratio (HR) of 4.88 (95% CI 1.35–17.61). A monotonic trend was observed between concentrations of inorganic arsenic in water (from 0 to > 100 ug/L) and the incidence of urothelial tract cancer, including bladder cancer (p < 0.05) and upper urothelial tract cancers (p < 0.05). Participants with a lower primary methylation index or higher secondary methylation index had a prominent effect. Conclusions: Rigorous regulations and active interventions should be considered for populations with susceptible characteristics. © 2023, The Author(s).

The local government of a city as an organization depends on decision makers in government management to support the vision and mission of the city to achieve eco-city goals based on data and information from several knowledge domains. Knowledge management is seen as an increasingly important scientific discipline that encourages the creation, sharing and utilization of knowledge in an organization. Knowledge management is also related to the concept of intellectual capital, the most valuable organizational resource. Knowledge sharing systems are designed to help decision makers and stakeholders share their knowledge. Most knowledge management systems in organizations are designed to share the explicit knowledge of individuals, organizations and finally distributed to the community. This research is the approach in the development model that can be used in the governance to achieve eco-city goals. Complex knowledge about eco-cities requires policies that are based on current knowledge and can be implemented immediately with a thorough understanding of all aspects. The results of this study are understanding the problem of knowledge sharing as a valuable organizational asset, designing a knowledge sharing systems model, and improving systems to improve the quality of knowledge.

In the process of interaction between students and the Learning Management System (LMS) platform which is commonly used in current lectures, there is a Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) process that is applied. In this process, there are many influencing factors, including ergonomic factors and psychological factors. These two factors will certainly be closely related to the users’ perceptual condition in receiving instructions from the platform they uses, in this case, students in using the LMS. This study would conduct a study to see the effect of the complexity of instructions in the interface used by the Moodle-based LMS on the level of mental workload perceived by students as users by using an experimental ergonomics approach. To provide improvement interventions in the LMS platform for a more efficient learning process. And being more cognitively healthy and more productive in its utilization for students. The modified NASA-TLX method and bivariate statistical analysis were used in this study. From the process of experimentation and research that has been carried out on the use of 10 commonly used LMS modules, it is found that the complexity of the instruction influences mental workload, especially in temporal demand and effort dimension. The more complex the instructions in the interface of a LMS module, the higher the mental workload felt by students as users.

Hybrid ACO and PSO to minimize makespan in job shop scheduling problems

The lowest time search in the dataset that E. Taillard utilized employs a heuristic approach based on tabu search techniques to get the predicted solution. Glover’s study gives a broad description of tabu search, which is commonly encountered in Taillard’s job shop scheduling difficulties and Widmer et al.’s flow shop sorting challenges. Although tabu search is relatively simple to use and typically yields excellent results, it takes a long time to complete. In this research a hybrid ACO and PSO was carried out to minimize makespan in the Job Shop Scheduling Problem which was used as sourced from benchmark data which is secondary data obtained from E. Taillard “Benchmarks for basic scheduling problems” which consists of job shop matrix data (job × machine) measuring 4 × 4, 5 × 5, 7 × 7, 10 × 10, 15 × 15, 20 × 20, 30 × 15, 30 × 20, 50 × 15 and 50 × 20. Hybrid is carried out by calculating the Pbest value, namely the process position of each job on the machine to get the best solution using the PSO algorithm. Next, calculate the Gbest (Global best) value for the position of each job on the best machine on the entire machine using the PSO algorithm and initialize the ACO parameters using the PBest and Gbest values. The results of research on datasets with sizes 10×10, 15×15, 20×20, 30×15, 30×20, 50×15 and 50×20 produce smaller makespan compared to the lower bound on the dataset with an average minimum makespan improvement value of 1.184.

Numerical Investigation on Motion Responses of Floating Structures by Application of Swarm Intelligence

In presence of complex-hydrodynamic interaction between water waves and floating structures, a reliable method that can analyse nonlinear structural properties is necessarily required. This paper presents a numerical investigation of the moored floating structures by application of swarm intelligence (SI). Here, a hybrid particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm with various swarm parameters are proposed to solve systems of sparse-nonlinear equations for the surge, heave, and pitch motion responses by considering distorted wave motion. In addition, a computational fluid dynamic (CFD) programme is developed using Reynolds Average Navier-Stokes (RANS) solver. Various wave parameters including a set of optimization criteria have been taken into account in a complete optimization simulation, where the optimum solutions are then selected at each numerical iteration. Meanwhile, the computed results of surge, heave, and pitch motions will be qualitatively validated, in which they are then visualized using CFD approach. The results show that the integrated SI-CFD model can simulate fairly well on hydrodynamics of floating structures with reasonable computational efficiency. Harnessing computational intelligence into a novel design concept of floating structures can serve as useful engineering decision-making tool.

Computer vision has been used in many areas such as medical, transportation, military, geography, etc. The fast development of sensor devices inside camera and satellite provides not only red-greed-blue (RGB) images but also multispectral dataset with some channels including RGB, infrared, short-wave, and thermal wave. Most of the dataset is panchromatic (black and white) and RGB, for example Google Map and other satellite-based map applications. This study examines the effects of multispectral dataset for semantic segmentation of land cover. The comparison between RGB with band 2 to band 7 of Landsat 8 Satellite shows an improvement of accuracy from 90.283 to 94.473 for U-Net and from 91.76 to 95.183 for DeepLabV3+. In addition, this research also compares two well-known semantic segmentation methods, namely U-Net and DeepLabV3+, that shown that DeepLabV3+ outperformed U-Net regarding to speed and accuracy. Testing was conducted in the Karawang Regency area, West Java, Indonesia.

ERP stands for enterprise resource planning. It is an information system that is all rolled into one, is very flexible and adaptable, and optimizes business operations while also centralizing all of the company's data. This study aims to empirically investigate the elements that affect users' intention and usage of enterprise resource planning (ERP). This research incorporates self-efficacy into the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT2). A quantitative technique was taken, and as a result, 143 replies that might be used were effectively collected. After that, the information was put through a structural equation modelling partial least square (SEM-PLS) analysis. According to the findings of this research, self-efficacy appears to have a significant influence on all endogenous variables (EE, BI, and UB), as indicated by t-values of 3.951, 7.573, and 5.492, respectively. In addition, the analysis also indicated that PE (4.317), EE (2.397), and HM (3.084) are likewise statistically and substantively significant to BI. The result shows that the R2 for BI and UB indicate a moderate impact of 0.603 and 0.521, respectively. It is suggested that the model has valuable applications in academic and real-world contexts.

In the biomedical field, the use of fluorescence imaging in the second near-infrared (NIR-II) region is growing rapidly because it imparts the advantages of reduced autofluorescence and low photon scattering. The advantage of reduced scattering is that it increases penetration depth in vivo and improves imaging clarity. Herein, this work uses mesoporous silica, a biocompatible template that can be easily modified, functionalized, and loaded with drugs for use in several bioapplications. The ZnGa2O4 spinel oxide system is integrated into mesoporous silica and different concentrations of Cr3+ and Ni2+ are loaded in octahedral sites to obtain the highest emission intensity in the NIR-II region at 1285 nm via energy transfer from Cr3+ to Ni2+. Given that only a few nanophosphor systems with emission in the NIR-II region are available, this work attempts to establish emission in the NIR-II and NIR-I regions to obtain images in vivo with an increased penetration depth to 5 mm and improved clarity for bioimaging purposes. This system will open the door for biomedical research on other NIR-II nanophosphors. © 2023 Wiley-VCH GmbH.

Cancer is among the most common causes of death for dogs (and cats) and humans in the developed world, even though it is uncommon in wildlife and other domestic animals. We provide a rationale for this observation based on recent advances in our understanding of the evolutionary basis of cancer. Over the course of evolutionary time, species have acquired and fine-tuned adaptive cancer-protective mechanisms that are intrinsically related to their energy demands, reproductive strategies, and expected lifespan. These cancer-protective mechanisms are general across species and/or specific to each species and their niche, and they do not seem to be limited in diversity. The evolutionarily acquired cancer-free longevity that defines a species’ life history can explain why the relative cancer risk, rate, and incidence are largely similar across most species in the animal kingdom despite differences in body size and life expectancy. The molecular, cellular, and metabolic events that promote malignant transformation and cancerous growth can overcome these adaptive, species-specific protective mechanisms in a small proportion of individuals, while independently, some individuals in the population might achieve exceptional longevity. In dogs and humans, recent dramatic alterations in healthcare and social structures have allowed increasing numbers of individuals in both species to far exceed their species-adapted longevities (by two to four times) without allowing the time necessary for compensatory natural selection. In other words, the cancer-protective mechanisms that restrain risk at comparable levels to other species for their adapted lifespan are incapable of providing cancer protection over this recent, drastic, and widespread increase in longevity. © 2022 The Authors. Analyzing the use of SEO and Google Analytic on the Website of Vocational High School of Information Technology Annajiyah

The number of Islamic boarding school teaching both Information Technology (IT) Education and Religious Education is still limited. Vocational High School of Information Technology Annajiyah located in Tambakberas, Jombang, East Java is a school having both subjects taught. The existence of Vocational High School of Information Technology Annajiyah has not been widely known by outside and inside society of Jombang Regency. Therefore, Therefore, analysis of the use of SEO is necessary to determine the potential of website visit and school promotion. Previously, Vocational High School of Information Technology Annajiyah promoted school by using brochures only. This method was considered able to introduce the school through traditional way. Analysis result of improving SEO can be seen in Google Analytic recorded a number of site visits amounted 403 in June, where 82.2% of active users are dominated by mobile phone users and fluctuation of the number of visits. This increase is affected by both the implementation of SEO and online PPDB process during the COVID pandemic.
