Early detection of plant diseases is one of the main keys to handling diseases quickly and successfully. The purpose of this study is to find out a simpler CNN architecture and meet an acceptable compromise between accuracy and simplification to detect diseases in tomato plants based on leaf images. This simpler architecture will allow the development of standalone and independent system model in the field to classify and identify the tomato plants diseases in low price and limited resources. This proposed architecture was developed from the CNN architecture baseline and is intended to classify 10 classes of tomato leaves consist of one healthy class and 9 classes of leaves diseases taken from the Plant Village dataset. In this study, the performance of the proposed architecture and comparative architectures are examined in the same dataset. Comparative architectures used are some existing CNN architectures that are commonly used namely VGG Net, Shuffle Net and Squeeze Net. The results indicated that the proposed architecture can achieve competitive accuracy compared with the existing architecture while the proposed architecture is much shorter than the existing architecture and better in terms of performance time.

Passenger volume forecasting information system for PT. KAI Daop 2 Bandung using double exponential smoothing method

Daop 2 Bandung is one of the Indonesian railroad operations areas, under the administration of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero). Daop 2 Bandung is currently experiencing a problem in predicting the number of passenger volumes. It is common for railway transportation services to experience passengers flows that increases or decreases in the volume which in turn causes the service of the PT. KAI becomes less optimum. Therefore, a forecasting information system is needed to forecast the volume of train passengers in the upcoming period. This study applied Double Exponential Smoothing method as a forecasting method. The data used is the number of passenger volume data for two periods, i.e. 2017 and 2018 periods. For forecasting accuracy, PE (Percentage Error) and MAPE (Mean Absolute Percentage Error) were used. The passenger volume forecasting results on the Executive Class category shows 946,824 with an error percentage of 11.9962%, the Business Class category shows 221,188 results with an error percentage of 21.6714%, and the Economy Class category shows 5,144,074 with an error percentage of 10.4366%.

Management of patient data at the Technical Implementation Unit of the Community Health Center (UPT. Puskesmas) of Rhee Sumbawa District has not been fully computerized. The need for the development of an Information System to store medical records (history) of patient data. The research aims to develop information systems with descriptive research methods. For software development methods using Waterfall Models and built with Microsoft Visual Studio C# software and databases stored in Microsoft SQL Server software. Software testing uses Black Box Testing, which is testing software in functional terms. The results of research into digital data technology products that function to enter, change, delete data and minimize the time to find the data needed to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of data management.

Free market stipulated organizations to improve quality and competitiveness. To achieve this improvement, companies had to implement Total Quality Management so that the vision and mission of companies as one of the main competing factors in the free market were achieved. Many companies had problems in measuring and implementing the organizational performance and Total Quality Management because it needed enough budgets so that a system was needed to measure this organizational performance. The objective of this study was (1) to measure the organizational performance, (2) to measure the implementation of Total Quality Management, and (3) to measure the organizational culture by using Knowledge Management System (KMS)-based approach at Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The advantage of this study was to provide the best recommendations for companies. To develop this system, the writers conducted surveys to several MSMEs, invited experts and practitioners to acquire the knowledge, and carried out the literature study to obtain the recommendation about the best organizational culture at MSMEs. This study developed software used to measure the organizational performance, Total Quality Management, and organizational culture is seen from the Knowledge Management System (KMS) principles. The developed software had been examined to several companies and MSMEs with a very high level of accuracy in giving a recommendation.

Background: The efficacy of extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT) for treating shoulder calcific tendinitis can be influenced by various prognostic factors. This study aimed to identify prognostic factors associated with the failure of ESWT for symptom relief and to evaluate the predictive capability of the eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) algorithm of artificial intelligence techniques in this context. Methods: This retrospective study enrolled patients with persistent shoulder pain attributed to calcific tendinitis who underwent ESWT after failed conservative treatment between January 1998 and December 2022. Age, sex, duration of symptoms, calcification classification and size, pre-ESWT visual analog scale (VAS), and pre-ESWT Constant-Murley score (CMS) served as potential input attributes. The difference in VAS and CMS were defined as the output attributes. The XGBoost model was used to predict treatment outcomes based on these factors. The dataset was balanced using the synthetic minority oversampling technique, and the model's performance was assessed using 10-fold cross-validation. Spearman's rank correlation coefficient analysis was adopted to explore the relationships between significant continuous input attributes and post-ESWT VAS and CMS scores. Results: A total of 296 patients with calcific tendinitis were enrolled and completed the 1-year follow-up. The findings revealed that a prolonged symptom duration (>10 months), severe pain (pre-ESWT VAS >5), and higher pre-ESWT CMS (>55) were significant prognostic factors for the failure of ESWT for symptom relief. Using these factors as inputs, the XGBoost model demonstrated high accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score. By reducing the input attributes to age, calcification size, pre-ESWT CMS, and symptom duration, the model maintained a high prediction rate, suggesting that these factors are sufficient for effective prediction. Once integrated into clinical care, patient risk stratification models may perform worse compared to their retrospective performance. To date, it is widely accepted that performance will degrade over time due to changes in care processes and patient populations. However, the extent to which this occurs is poorly understood, in part because few researchers report prospective validation performance. In this study, we compare the 2020-2021 (’20-’21) prospective performance of a patient risk stratification model for predicting healthcare-associated infections to a 2019-2020 (’19-’20) retrospective validation of the same model. We define the difference in retrospective and prospective performance as the performance gap. We estimate how i) "temporal shift", i.e., changes in clinical workflows and patient populations, and ii) "infrastructure shift", i.e., changes in access, extraction and transformation of data, both contribute to the performance gap. Applied prospectively to 26,864 hospital encounters during a twelve-month period from July 2020 to June 2021, the model achieved an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUROC) of 0.767 (95% confidence interval (CI): 0.737, 0.801) and a Brier score of 0.189 (95% CI: 0.186, 0.191). Prospective performance decreased slightly compared to’19-’20 retrospective performance, in which the model achieved an AUROC of 0.778 (95% CI: 0.744, 0.815) and a Brier score of 0.163 (95% CI: 0.161, 0.165). The resulting performance gap was primarily due to infrastructure shift and not temporal shift. So long as we continue to develop and validate models using data stored in large research data warehouses, we must consider differences in how and when data are accessed, measure how these differences may negatively affect prospective performance, and work to mitigate those differences. Along with technological development in Indonesia, digital divide occurs in various regions, which were behind in terms of information on how to use, access and utilize ICT in collecting information from internet. One of the regions is Lembata Regency in East Nusa Tenggara, where digital divide among the people should be measured. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of digital divide among the people of Lembata Regency. To determine the level of digital divide, we used SIBIS GPS (General Population Survey) method, which consisted of several indicators or aspect, i.e. internet usage behavior, internet utilization, and e-government. We also performed two tests, i.e. validity test and reliability test to obtain value of index of digital divide measurement among the people of Lembata Regency. The results of validity test which is processed using SPSS program are categorized valid for each variable indicator and the reliability test results show reliable status. According to the test results on digital discrepancy in Lembata people, the internet usage attitude indicator is categorized low which is 63.1%, the internet usage function indicator is categorized low which is 64%, and the digital discrepancy of e-government indicator is categorized medium which is 40.4%. Therefore, the result of this study because consideration for the government of Lembata Regency in improving ICT services in e-government and in distributing ICT access and ability equally to the people. © 2018 The Authors, published by EDP Sciences.

Analysis on vocational high school teacher competency gaps: implication for VHS teacher training needs

This study proposed a novel approach that integrates qualitative and quantitative methods to identify the competency gaps of VHS teachers in Vocational High Schools (VHSs). It comprised four research steps, namely (1) determining the ideal teacher competencies through Fuzzy Delphi technique, (2) arranging the competency priorities by using the analytic hierarchy process, (3) conducting VHS teacher performance evaluation by using a 360-degree rater, and (4) the competency gaps analysis using the IPA matrix. The sample members involved in this study were 7 experts from the industry, academia, and government, and 50 VHS teachers from several regencies in Bali Province, Indonesia. This study suggested that the gaps analysis between the existing VHS teacher competencies and the ideal ones include (1) the pedagogical competency – the low level of factual knowledge mastery in vocational knowledge and skills; (2) mastery in the application of contents; (3) mastery of content knowledge related to vocational teaching subjects; (4) networking and collaboration between the relevant industry and government; (5) continuous professional development; and (6) entrepreneurship. These findings imply that these needs of competencies should be the focus of teacher training programs for VHS teachers.

The Kronecker product, also called tensor product, is a fundamental matrix algebra operation, used to model complex systems using structured descriptions. This operation needs to be computed efficiently, since it is a critical kernel for iterative algorithms. In this work, we focus on the vector-kronecker product operation, where we present an in-depth performance analysis of a sequential and a parallel algorithm previously proposed. Based on this analysis, we proposed three optimizations: changing the memory access pattern, reducing load imbalance and manually vectorizing some portions of the code with Intel SSE4.2 intrinsics. The obtained results show better cache usage and load balance, thus improving the performance, especially for larger matrices.

The purpose of this study was to know the risk of project management analysis. Performance Indicator Project is a temporary activity that has been established beginning of its work and the time of completion to achieve specific and unique goals and outcomes that aims to produce a useful or value-added product or novelty. In a project no risk will always be attached to it. A project will be confronted by many unanticipated risks so the success of a project to achieve its project objectives should be based on clear risk management from planning to completion of the project. *** is a company engaged in construction. Currently PT. XYZ is working on a car plant development project. The risks considered at this stage of project planning are considered to be the same, the way to deal with each risk does not consider the impact of risk and does not have a clear mechanism in its mitigation arrangements. Problems arise when a risk occurs at the time of project execution that there is a mistake in deterMining the level of interest of the risk so that it effects on the mitigation. The impacts associated with the project are increasing the cost and time of the project so that it is not in accordance with the project planning that has been estimated previously.
