Computational investigation into resistance characteristics of a full-scale pusher-barge system

In the presence of hydrodynamic motion interference between pusher and multiple barge configurations, a reliable investigation allowing an accurate prediction of her total resistance is obviously required. To achieve such objective, the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) approach is then proposed to predict the total ship’s resistance of a pusher-barge system in the calm water condition. The various barge’s configurations incorporated with various Froude numbers (Fr) have been considered in the computational simulation incorporated with the full-scale dimension of the pusher-barge. In general, the CFO results revealed that the total resistances of the various configurations of the pusher-barge system had a qualitatively good agreement with the experimental model test results. Merely, the increase of Froude number (Fr=0.128 to 0.308) was proportional to the magnitude of total resistance. In addition, the pusher-barge system of the 33BP configuration provides the highest resistance as compared to others. It should be noted here that the pusher-barges configurations led to the susceptible effect to the total ship’s resistance which resulted in remarkable increase of the effective power values as the substituting their arrangements from the longitudinal configurations and to the lateral ones. This finding provides a very valuable insight aimed at selecting the proper pusher-barge configurations towards reducing the total ship’s resistance.

Smart Fish Feeder is an automatic fish feeder that can be controlled using android smartphone. With this tool, fish owners will easily adjust the feeding schedule according to the recommended feed dose, and provide aquarium cleaning scheduling. In designing a fish feeder, there are some criteria such as temperature and time interval of feeding. The data collection has been done by interviewing ornamental fish traders. The data also has been obtained from literature studies that support problem solving theory. The Laravel framework is used to interpret the system while Firebase as the Database Management System. The Android is as a front end that interacts directly with the user. Automatic fish feeding systems are implemented using arduino micro-controller and prototype feeding devices. This research uses Fuzzy Logic Controller method. With the creation of the prototype smart fish feeder the device functions well in terms of both controller and push data. The results of the calculation of the duration of fish feed using the Fuzzy Sugeno Algorithm have been successfully applied to the smart fish feeder.

Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection is the principal cause of chronic gastritis, gastric ulcers, duodenal ulcers, and gastric cancer. In clinical practice, diagnosis of H. pylori infection by a gastroenterologists’ impression of endoscopic images is inaccurate and cannot be used for the management of gastrointestinal diseases. The aim of this study was to develop an artificial intelligence classification system for the diagnosis of H. pylori infection by pre-processing endoscopic images and machine learning methods. Endoscopic images of the gastric body and antrum from 302 patients receiving endoscopy with confirmation of H. pylori status by a rapid urease test at An Nan Hospital were obtained for the derivation and validation of an artificial intelligence classification system. The H. pylori status was interpreted as positive or negative by Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and Concurrent Spatial and Channel Squeeze and Excitation (scSE) network, combined with different classification models for deep learning of gastric images. The comprehensive assessment for H. pylori status by scSE-CatBoost classification models for both body and antrum images from same patients achieved an accuracy of 0.90, sensitivity of 1.00, specificity of 0.81, positive predictive value of 0.82, negative predicted value of 1.00, and area under the curve of 0.88. The data suggest that an artificial intelligence classification model using scSE-CatBoost deep learning for gastric endoscopic images can distinguish H. pylori status with good performance and is useful for the survey or diagnosis of H. pylori infection in clinical practice. © 2023, Springer Nature Limited.

Background:There is a growing interest to understand the neurobiological mechanisms that drive the positive associations of physical activity and fitness with measures of cognitive *** better understand those mechanisms,several studies have employed eye-based measures(e.g., eye movement measures such as saccades,pupillary measures such as pupil dilation,and vascular measures such as retinal vessel diameter)deemed to be proxies for specific neurobiological ***,there is currently no systematic review providing a comprehensive overview of these studies in the field of exercise-cognition ***,this review aimed to address that gap in the ***:To identify eligible studies,we searched 5 electronic databases on October 23,*** researchers independently extracted data and assessed the risk of bias using a modified version of the Tool for the assEssment of Study qualiTy and reporting in EXercise(TESTEX scale,for interventional studies) and the critical appraisal tool from the Joanna Briggs Institute(for cross-sectional studies).Results:Our systematic review(n=35 studies) offers the following main findings:(a) there is insufficient evidence available to draw solid conclusions concerning gaze-fixation-based measures;(b) the evidence that pupillometric measures,which are a proxy for the noradrenergic system,can explain the positive effect of acute exercise and cardiorespiratory fitness on cognitive performance is mixed;(c) physical training-or fitness-related changes of the cerebrovascular system(operationalized via changes in retinal vasculature) are,in general,positively associated with cognitive performance improvements;(d) acute and chronic physical exercises show a positive effect based on an oculomotor-based measure function(operationalized via antisaccade tasks);and(e) the positive association between cardiorespiratory fitness and cognitive performance is partly mediated by the dopaminergic system(operationalized via spo

One of the efforts to improve the quality of urban environment is smart environment concept that has become one of six of smart city indicators such as smart government, smart economy, smart people, smart mobility, and smart living. Smart environment means an environment that provides comfort, resources, physical and nonphysical beauty, and visual for the people, also students in their schools. This research aimed to apply the concept of smart trash bin in schools. This smart trash bin that detects rubbish based on rubbish group (plastic and metal). In addition, the smart trash bin has a function as education for the students as well. It has explanation about knowledge and how to use the trash bin so the students have awareness to keep environment clean and beauty. The research used Research and Development method from Borg and Gall model. The target of this research was the students in elementary school. The final result of this smart trash bin was a feasibility test product. There will be a test for the students using questionnaire. The Indonesian government has serious attention to facilitate the health of its people, one of which is by establishing Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Sosial (BPJS) hereinafter BPJS. The Government of Indonesia collaborates with several parties including primary health facilities, General and Regional Hospitals, as well as general practitioners and specialists who have been appointed by BPJS. The aim of this study is the user's perception of Primary Care applications at primary health facilities BPJS in Malang. This study uses the DeLone & McLean (D&M) Update IS Success Model to assess the success of an information system where its use is mandatory at primary health facilities. The model contains 6 dimensions that can measure the success of a system, i.e. Information Quality, System Quality, Service Quality, Use, User Satisfaction and Net Benefits. This research is a quantitative study using a questionnaire with a Likert scale. Purposive sampling is a method used in sampling. The respondents consist of doctors or admins who operate primary care applications at primary health facilities. The results of this study indicate that primary care applications can be categorized as successful information systems for each dimension of success in the D&M Update IS Success Model.

Forecasting system using single exponential smoothing with golden section optimization

Puri Wira Mahkota Ltd is a distributor company in the automotive parts industry. Puri Wira Mahkota has an obstacles in preparing weekly order on stock to the primary production unit. They predict total sales of product in the coming period just by using an expectation from stock administration staff then it will be compared with sales data in the previous period without any calculations using a definitive formula. Forecasting calculation could support Puri Wira Mahkota to predict the quantity of product. The purpose of this research is to apply the calculation process that can predict the quantity of product should be produced by the primary production unit every month and also to prevent over stock and out of stock. The method used in the forecasting calculation is Single Exponential Smoothing. To optimize Single Exponential Smoothing we used the Golden Section. The principle of the Golden Section is to reduce the alpha area boundary so it will produce an ideal forecast value with the minimum MAPE (Mean Absolute Percentage Error) level. This research shows the results that the Golden Section finds the optimal forecasting value with a level of MAPE (Mean Absolute Percentage Error) of 43.39%.

Fecal Microbiota Transplant (FMT) is an FDA approved treatment for recurrent Clostridium difficile infections, and is being explored for other clinical applications, from alleviating digestive and neurological disorders, to priming the microbiome for cancer treatment, and restoring microbiomes impacted by cancer treatment. Quantifying the extent of engraftment following an FMT is important in determining if a recipient didn’t respond because the engrafted microbiome didn’t produce the desired outcomes (a successful FMT, but negative treatment outcome), or the microbiome didn’t engraft (an unsuccessful FMT and negative treatment outcome). The lack of a consistent methodology for quantifying FMT engraftment extent hinders the assessment of FMT success and its relation to clinical outcomes, and presents challenges for comparing FMT results and protocols across studies. Here we review 46 studies of FMT in humans and model organisms and group their approaches for assessing the extent to which an FMT engrafts into three criteria: 1) Chimeric Asymmetric Community Coalescence investigates microbiome shifts following FMT engraftment using methods such as alpha diversity comparisons, beta diversity comparisons, and microbiome source tracking. 2) Donated Microbiome Indicator Features tracks donated microbiome features (e.g., amplicon sequence variants or species of interest) as a signal of engraftment with methods such as differential abundance testing based on the current sample collection, or tracking changes in feature abundances that have been previously identified (e.g., from FMT or disease-relevant literature). 3) Temporal Stability examines how resistant post-FMT recipient’s microbiomes are to reverting back to their baseline microbiome. Individually, these criteria each highlight a critical aspect of microbiome engraftment;investigated together, however, they provide a clearer assessment of microbiome engraftment. We discuss the pros and cons of each of these criteria,

Load Balancing is very well applied to the distribution of internet access at any point of the Wi-Fi area so that the use of limited devices can be optimal and on target. The proper use of the Greedy Algorithms when applied to an access point device is very capable in resolving excessive loading in a single resource to take the best choice at every stage in an optimum process. Access point device is also a success factor in running the optimization of the distribution of Wi-Fi access on the Access Point is strongly influenced by the parameters set. In this research, user access factor in one very high Wi-Fi area also influences the possibility of incoming access failure. For the application of the results of this study can be utilized on all access point devices that have limits, but for speed internet access remains at the capacity provided bandwidth. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The occurrence of landslides in the hills of Walahir, Kidang Pananjung village, Cililin subdistrict. Bandung in May 2004 needed attention and research so that the causes of the landslide could be identified. This landslide took many lives and property, heaped around 5 hectares of rice fields and residents' villages below and claimed 15 lives. Based on geotechnical investigations, the slip plane is at a depth of 4 meters from the ground surface and the area of the landslide ranges from 30,000 m2 leaving weathered rock beneath. Is the opening of agricultural land and fields followed by the use of chemical fertilizers is one of the causes of landslides? This study aims to determine the effect of a single chemical fertilizer (Urea, Za, SP36) and compound (Green Giant NPK, MKP) on the soil under conditions of optimum water content and water saturation or soaked which are carried out at the Chemical Laboratory of the Department of Energy and Mineral Resources of Bandung and Mechanics Laboratory Bandung Institute of Technology. Research on the influence of chemical fertilizers which is carried out using percentages of 1%, 2% and 3% with a relatively short ripening time intends to analyze the extent to which chemical fertilizers have an effect. Research is limited to the identification of minerals and chemical elements of original soil, soil physis properties, Atterberg boundaries, soil index properties, soil classification, soil elastic modulus. Hypothesis; The chemical content of fertilizers in the soil causes changes in soil characteristics. The method of taking original soil is by drilling original soil around the area where landslide disaster occurred at the same height as the height of the landslide slope, soil samples taken from depths of 1 meter and 3 meters from the surface of the land or the base layer between soil and rocks based on ASTM D-1452, 1587, 1586.
