The classical memory device with cryogenic operation is in high demanded for quantum information processing. The cryogenic endurance of anti-ferroelectric (AFE) and ferroelectric (FE) $\text{Hf}_{1-\mathrm{x}}\text{Zr}_{\mathrm{x}}\mathrm{O}_{2}$ capacitors is investigated for $\sim 10^{10}$ cycles (80 K). Moreover, the AFE capacitor exhibits a high speed response with ~ 80% normalized switching $2\mathrm{P}_{\mathrm{r},\text{sw}}$ for $\mathrm{t}_{\mathrm{p}}= 1\ \mu\mathrm{s}$ compared to ~ 60% for the FE capacitor at 80 K.

In the current display electronics, a high-resolution pixel density and refresh rate ranging 7680 × 4320 pixels, 300 ppi, and 240 Hz are in high demand. The pixel-driving Thin–Film Transistors (TFTs) are primarily responsible for the switch in such displays. The amorphous Indium-Gallium-Zinc-Oxide (a-IGZO) TFTs are popular in realizing better high–speed properties in line to achieve those needs. In previous years, amorphous-IGZO channel TFTs in one-gate and dual-gate structures have exhibited improved gate control. In this paper, the authors present the analytical performance of double–gate tri-layer channel structure design of a-IGZO TFT with three stacked channel layers (IGZO/ITO/ITO1) to model and evaluate the device performance at different gate biasing. The proposed device simulation results were encouraging, in terms of high capacitance in dual gate bias (CDG) 26.2 nF/cm2, high mobility (µFE) 16.93 cm2/V.s, and steeper subthreshold swing (SS) 95 mV/decade. © 2023, The Authors. Convolutional Neural Networks get increasingly importance nowadays as they enable machines to interact with the surrounding environment, which paves the way for computer vision applications. FPGA implementations of CNN architectures have higher speed and lower power consumption compared to GPUs and CPUs. This paper proposes a high-speed hardware accelerator on FPGA for SqueezeNet CNN to accelerate its processing without decreasing the classification accuracy. Several ideas are applied to solve the memory bottleneck issue such as using Ping-Pong memory and deploying several FIFOs in the design. The architecture is built as a pipelined unit to process SqueezeNet CNN layer by layer. Different parallelism techniques are applied while processing the convolution layers to speedup layers processing. Moreover, the proposed accelerator classifies 248.76 fps at a frequency of 100MHz, and 427.4 fps at a frequency of 172 MHz. The proposed accelerator is implemented on Virtex-7 FPGA, and overcomes Geforce RTX 2080Ti GPU and several SqueezeNet FPGA implementations. © 2021 IEEE.

We sought to revolutionize the classification of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) by pioneering an innovative approach that seamlessly integrated auditory and visual tests with electroencephalogram (EEG) coherence analysis, forming the foundation for our Support Vector Machine (SVM) models. Our primary objective was to achieve precise differentiation between individuals with ADHD and those without, aiming to reshape the landscape of ADHD diagnosis and early intervention. We constructed an SVM model based on CATA coherence, incorporating a carefully selected set of 180 features, and another grounded in CPT coherence with 70 features. Astonishingly, our exploration uncovered that a model incorporating CATA's coherence and Power Spectral Density (PSD) as features achieved an astounding accuracy rate of 97.7%, using only half the number of features. This revelation hints at untapped potential for multivariate advancements in the realm of ADHD classification. The landscape of ADHD diagnosis and intervention is perpetually evolving, most notably with the FDA's approval of game therapy for ADHD. Leveraging the transformative power of our findings, we envision the development of user-friendly game therapies for in-home use, empowering both clinicians and parents alike. This marks a paradigm shift in the realm of ADHD intervention, offering objective, data-driven tools for the early management of ADHD. Gamified therapy not only enhances accessibility but also fosters engagement and compliance, all of which are pivotal in the long-term care of individuals with ADHD. In summary, our study represents a significant advancement in our comprehension and classification of ADHD. By fusing auditory and visual tests with EEG coherence analysis, fortified by state-of-the-art machine learning techniques, we have achieved an unprecedented level of accuracy in identifying individuals with ADHD. Organic-inorganic halide perovskites have become notable for their efficiency in light harvesting. Nonetheless, the incorporation of organic cations like $\mathbf{M A}^{+}$and $\mathrm{FA}^{+}$presents stability challenges when exposed to environmental factors. This study explores the potential of replacing organic components with inorganic $\mathrm{Cs}^{+}$to enhance stability and efficiency in PSCs, focusing on CsPbBr 3 as the light harvester. We compare spin-coating and spray-coating techniques for depositing SnO 2 as the electron transport layer, revealing that spray-coating 7 cycles achieves higher PCE. Through detailed characterization, including UV-Vis, FTIR, SEM, I-V, and IPCE analyses, we optimized the manufacture of $\mathrm{SnO}_{2}, \mathrm{CsPbBr}_{3}$, and carbon deposition at room temperature, resulting in a PCE of $\mathbf{2. 2 1 \%}$ using the spray-coating process, demonstrating significant improvements over the spin-coating method.

Carbon nanotube field effect transistor (CNFET) performance is primarily influenced by a variety of characteristics, such as nanotube diameter, operating voltage, pitch, the number of tubes, dielectric constant, and contact materials. In this study, the dielectric constant and the number of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were emphasized to analyze the propagation delay and average power dissipation of basic logic gates. Zirconium dioxide (ZrO 2 ), hafnium oxide (HfO 2 ), and silicon dioxide (SiO 2 ) were used as dielectric materials. In this experiment, the Stanford CNFET model was utilized, and variable factors such as the number of CNTs and the dielectric constant $(K_{ox})$ accumulated on the nanotube gate's surface were diversified. The correlation coefficients of the delay, the average power, and the CNT numbers were also presented. Furthermore, the multi-objective genetic algorithm and the Rmethod were utilized to find the optimal K ox and the number of CNTs for minimizing the average dissipation power and the propagation delay of some logic gates designed with CNFET. For all the gates considered, the optimal number of CNTs is 4 while the dielectric constant is within the ranges of 19 to 24.

Mumbai, a densely populated city, experiences frequent extreme rainfall events leading to floods and waterlogging. However, the lack of real-time flood monitoring and detailed past flooding data limits the scientific analysis to extreme rainfall assessment. To address this, we explore the usability of crowdsourced data for identifying flood hotspots and extracting reliable flood information from the past. Through an automated program, we filter and retrieve flood-related data from Twitter, using location information to generate flood maps for past heavy rainfall events. The validity of the retrieved data is confirmed by comparing it with volunteered geographic information (VGI) which is more accurate but less abundant. In the absence of direct flood information, Twitter data is cross-verified with the Height above the Nearest Drainage (HAND) map, which serves as a proxy for elevation. Interestingly, while extreme rainfall events are increasing in frequency, recent Twitter-based information shows a decrease in flood reporting, attributed to effective mitigation measures implemented at various flood hotspots. Local surveys support this finding and highlight measures such as underground storage tanks and pumping stations that have reduced flood severity. Our study demonstrates the value of crowdsourced data in identifying urban flood hotspots and its potential for real-time flood monitoring and forecasting. This approach can be adapted for data-sparse urban regions to generate location-specific warnings, contributing to improved early warnings and mitigating the impact on lives and property. © 2023, CC BY.

There are a variety of symptoms of autism spectrum disorders. The appropriate interventions are selected according to the symptoms. Moreover, the key to successful intervention is to provide suitable therapy continuously. Unfortunately, the number of autism specialists is insufficient for the growing demands. Thus, for better intervention outcomes, the collaboration of parents/caregivers who help continue the intervention at home is crucial to the success of the intervention. However, it is not easy for inexperienced parents/caregivers. This study aimed to help parents/caregivers by using a robot to assist personalized learning for children with autism. We developed an artificial intelligence-based program to choose actions appropriate to the child user’s learning style or preference so that the child user stays attended to the activities the robot offers. In this pilot study, we tested using a robot to assist personalized learning with six participants in the special education needs school. The result of this study revealed the possibility of using a robot to assist in personalized learning for children with autism, from the perspective of the participants’ teacher. While interacting with the robot, the participants achieved a high average accuracy percentage of 83.36% and demonstrated a positive learning trend.

Ultra-Reliable Device-Centric Uplink Communications in Airborne Networks: A Spatiotemporal Analysis

This paper proposes an ultra-reliable device-centric uplink (URDC-UL) communication scheme for airborne networks. In particular, base stations (BSs) are mounted on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that travel to schedule UL transmissions and collect data from devices. To attain an ultra-reliable unified device-centric performance, the UL connection is established when the UAV-BS is hovering at the nearest possible distance from the scheduled device. The performance of the proposed URDC-UL scheme is benchmarked against a stationary UAV-centric uplink (SUC-UL) scheme where the devices are scheduled to communicate to UAV-BSs that are continuously hovering at static locations. Utilizing stochastic geometry and queueing theory, novel spatiotemporal mathematical models are developed, which account for the UAV-BS spatial densities, mobility, altitude, antenna directivity, ground-to-air channel, and temporal traffic, among other factors. The results demonstrate the sensitivity of the URDC-UL scheme to the ratio between hovering and traveling time. In particular, the hovering to traveling time ratio should be carefully adjusted to maximize the harvested performance gains for the URDC-UL scheme in terms of link reliability, transmission rate, energy efficiency, and delay. Exploiting the URDC-UL scheme allows IoT devices to minimize transmission power while maintaining unified reliable transmission. In this investigation, we explored the corrosive effects of date palm seed extracted from natural sources and biomass residues on mild steel in a solution of 0.5 M hydrochloric acid (HCl), employing a combination of experimental and theoretical approaches. Our objective was to scrutinize the interaction of the inhibitor with the metal surface, analyze experimental data, and elucidate how the structural characteristics of the inhibitors influence the corrosion process. The experimental results indicated that as the immersion time and temperature increased, the inhibitory effectiveness declined. Notably, the highest level of inhibition occurred when the concentration of date palm seed extract (DPSE) reached 1100 ppm, showcasing peak inhibitory effects of 95.8% and 97.8% through potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy techniques, respectively. Additionally, an analysis using X-ray diffraction (XRD) was conducted to scrutinize the chemical composition of the mild steel's surface. The adsorption data were evaluated using adsorption isotherms, revealing that DPSE adhered to the Langmuir adsorption isotherm on the mild steel surface. The Langmuir model exhibited the highest linear regression coefficient value and a slope close to unity. The Gibbs free energy () values suggested that the protection afforded by DPSE involved physical and spontaneous absorption. Examination of the results pertaining to the highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) and lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) indicated that the carboxyl (COOH) group and the C=C bond were the principal regions exhibiting elevated electron acceptance activity. These components were found to be crucial in the adsorption process on the surface of iron (Fe). © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.
