Since the initial launch of 5G networks in 2018, 5G technology has rapidly expanded to cover about 40% of the world's population, offering higher bandwidth, faster connectivity, and lower latency than 4G. However, due to its higher frequency operation, 5G necessitates more frequent handovers, making efficient handover performance crucial. This research focuses on enhancing handover efficiency by predicting user movement using Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) models for multi-step-ahead prediction. The model created will utilize 60 seconds of historical data to predict 10 seconds ahead, with a target to achieve an average prediction accuracy of less than 20 meters with a latency under 100 ms. The study employs TensorFlow for model training, leveraging the Grab-Posisi dataset, and utilizes Plotly and TensorBoard for result visualization. Six model variations were trained, with the 16-unit model trained for 3106 epochs performing best, achieving 16.99 meters accuracy and 31 ms latency. The findings suggest that LSTM is effective for predicting user movement in 5G networks, with potential accuracy improvements through extended training epochs. © 2024 IEEE.

This work aims to present and analyze clutter loss propagation measurements in 3.7 and 4.9 GHz, which are bands of interest for communications and next-generation networks. The clutter loss model has been widely debated in the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) due to its importance for coexistence studies, and its applicability for bands below 10 GHz in different environments, is currently being discussed. In this work, a narrowband signal measurements campaigns were carried out in dense urban and suburban environments in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to calculate the path loss propagation with the aim of clutter loss characterization in these scenarios and evaluate the applicability of the clutter model and its limitations. This information will be useful for the regulatory process, including the evaluation of the prediction models used in Anatel’s coexistence studies.

In unmanned logistics end distribution, task distribution is a problem that must be solved. In this paper, we calculate the distribution range that can be covered by multiple UAVs, and make distributed interconnection communication and calculation between multiple intelligent bodies, i.e., between multiple UAVs and ground platforms. In the process of executing the task, the distribution result is adjusted by real-time replanning, so that the total distance in the distribution result is minimized. After the UAV takes off and starts to execute the distribution task, the objective function model is established based on the real-time location of the UAV, the location of the end point of the movement, the length of the path of the task execution, and the time collaboration of the multi-UAV execution task as constraints, and solved using the Improved Genetic Algorithm. Through the results of simulation experiments, we can see that the task allocation strategy used in this paper can perform resource calculation more efficiently and get optimized allocation results. © 2022 SPIE.

Vanadium Redox Flow Batteries (VRFB) are promising for large-scale energy storage due to their long life and environmental benefits. Accurate temperature prediction is key to optimizing VRFB performance and longevity. This study compares the performance of four machine learning models, i.e., 1D CNN, Particle Swarm Optimization - Support Vector Regressor (PSO-SVR), Decision Tree (DT), and K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), using a publicly available dataset. Results show that KNN achieves the best results with test Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) of 0.0424 (average) and test R2 of 0.9746 (average), demonstrating strong predictive accuracy. 1D CNN, however, shows poor generalization. These findings suggest that non-parametric models like KNN and DT are highly effective for VRFB temperature prediction. © The Institution of engineering & Technology 2024.

Biomedical image processing is a hot research topic which helps to majorly assist the disease diagnostic *** the same time,breast cancer becomes the deadliest disease among women and can be detected by the use of different imaging *** mammograms can be used for the earlier identification and diagnostic of breast cancer to minimize the death *** the proper identification of breast cancer has mainly relied on the mammography findings and results to increased false *** resolving the issues of false positives of breast cancer diagnosis,this paper presents an automated deep learning based breast cancer diagnosis(ADL-BCD)model using digital *** goal of the ADL-BCD technique is to properly detect the existence of breast lesions using digital *** proposed model involves Gaussian filter based pre-processing and Tsallis entropy based image *** addition,Deep Convolutional Neural Network based Residual Network(ResNet 34)is applied for feature extraction ***,a hyper parameter tuning process using chimp optimization algorithm(COA)is applied to tune the parameters involved in ResNet 34 *** wavelet neural network(WNN)is used for the classification of digital mammograms for the detection of breast *** ADL-BCD method is evaluated using a benchmark dataset and the results are analyzed under several performance *** simulation outcome indicated that the ADL-BCD model outperforms the state of art methods in terms of different measures.

Versatile Video Coding (H.266/VVC) is the newest video coding standard jointly developed by the Joint Video Experts Team (JVET), which is organized by the ITU-T Video Coding Experts Group (VCEG) and the ISO/IEC Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG). H.266/VVC provides about 40% bitrate reduction compared with High Efficiency Video Coding (H.265/HEVC) for the same visual quality. This paper introduces in detail the core structure of H.266/VVC by highlighting its features within block partitioning structure, intra/inter prediction, transform, quantization, and in-loop filtering, compared to its predecessor (H.265/HEVC). H.266/VVC yields significantly improved the coding performance, but it increased the computational complexity, particularly for the encoder side, which remains a problem to be tackled for successful commercialization in the future. This paper examined the statistical performance of H.266/VVC coding tools from the bitstreams encoded by the VVC test model (VTM12.0) encoder through rate-distortion optimization under the JVET common test conditions. In addition, the complexity and performance analyses are conducted on the block partitioning structure and group of picture structure. It is expected that an optimized H.266/VVC encoder can be designed and developed by minimizing the coding loss based on the analysis data. © 2023 Institute of Electronics and Information Engineers. This paper presents a modified Vivaldi antipodal antenna using air-filled RSIW technology for UWB applications. The structure has a triangular slot edge, extending the bandwidth and increasing the gain. A prototype of the modified antenna was simulated and fabricated. The measured results show reasonable agreement with simulations, validating the design procedure. The proposed antenna offers a low-cost, easy-to-manufacture and compact solution. Additionally, improvements in performance were observed, including a 1 GHz increase in bandwidth and an additional 1.58 dB in gain, compared to the antenna using only the RSIW technology. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper aims to analyze passenger needs for network connectivity on the ship during traveling at the shipping line of Indonesian XYZ Company. The current connectivity infrastructure on board is supported by VSAT technology, but limited only for the ship's crew. Meanwhile, the passengers have difficulty to connect mobile cellular services while sailing. Therefore, providing the service over such a connectivity to the passengers can be an added values for the XYZ Company. This study uses Kano Model of the 11 attributes, and collect a primary data from 138 passengers sailing at PQR ship. It results recommendations portraying the passenger's need for shipping telecommunications during the sailing trip. © 2021 IEEE.

Smart mobility is a crucial aspect of smart cities, and its performance can be further improved by exploiting Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) communication available on Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and autonomous vehicles. V2X communication has the potential to improve traffic in smart cities drastically, but it plays a crucial role in terms of safety and the environment. The V2X communication can be completely impaired due to cyberattacks, including radio jamming, where the electromagnetic spectrum is interfered or blocked. In this paper, we propose three frameworks to deal with radio jamming in V2X applications. First, we present a batch framework, then a recursive framework, and finally, a subspace tracking framework. We validate the proposed frameworks considering the left turn assist driving use case, and we compare their performances.
