Early childhood education is a critical stage of education because it may establish the foundation for an individual’s intelligence. Students of this age group are generally unable to remain seated and study for long periods of time because they get bored easily. They are more likely to be attracted to visual information and enjoy interactive activities. This condition challenges the world of education to keep developing learning methods that are able to help students to learn the materials. The combination of Augmented Reality technology and hologram special effects is a promising solution because it allows students to see an immersive world and allows them to interact with real-life physical objects while learning. Augmented Reality immersive world solution with hologram special effects in early childhood education has successfully been tested and implemented by using two smartphones, one acts as an input-camera and the other acts as an output to display the hologram. COVID-19 pandemic makes home-based learning a common thing and has been implemented all over the world. Learning through Augmented Reality (AR) technology can help students understand learning materials in a more creative way than the traditional way. AR can make learning fun, memorable, and interactive. Developing AR software is a hard task, usually made by order (custom made), requires a technical person to develop it, and costs a lot of money. This tends to be a problem and the implementation of AR in the world especially in education field becomes quite challenging. To solve this problem, researchers propose a Bee AR Teacher framework to let developer create the AR system. Bee AR Teacher provides the contribution in AR framework, and it consists of three components: technologies, operations, and human resources. If developer can develop the AR system successfully, teachers may use the system and can independently build AR solutions that can support teaching and learning activities without the need for technical knowledge. One of the special features of AR solution is the teachers can share or navigate material from their devices and students can see the material (virtual object) directly on their smartphones and can interactively manipulate it with their fingers. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2023.

A novel approach for oil/water separation: Integrating nano-ZnO with graphene oxide membranes via dopamine and KH550

Graphene oxide-based membranes, known for unique permeability and selectivity in oil/water separation, face limitations due to low flux and weak anti-fouling performance. To overcome these challenges, a series of GO@ZnO membranes were synthesized in a one-pot process, doping different amounts of nano-ZnO into GO with the aid of polydopamine (PDA) and 3-triethoxysilylpropylamine (KH550). This study found that evenly distributed nano-ZnO within the GO layers acted as hydrophilic intercalators, creating continuous rough nanochannels and increased interlayer spacing for effective water transport. The membrane M-5 demonstrated a significant increase in water permeability, reaching 5718 +/- 151 L m- 2 h-1 bar- 1 , nearly 20 times higher than the control group (M-0) without ZnO doping. Anti-fouling tests, using four different oil/water emulsions, showed that M-5 consistently achieved oil rejection rates above 99.7 %. Furthermore, M-5 exhibited a flux recovery rate (FRR) of 95.5 %, surpassing M-0 by 34.6 %. Regeneration experiments confirmed that M-5 maintained an impressive oil rejection rate of 99.2 % after 30 recycling cycles. These results indicate that nano-ZnO enhances surface roughness and hydration layers, significantly improving water permeability without compromising rejection rate and anti-fouling performance. The study presents a straightforward approach to creating continuous nanochannels and hydrophilic layers in two-dimensional laminar GO membranes, highlighting the potential of GO@ZnO membranes in oil-water treatment applications.

Attending to Unbuilding The One Tree Project

This interdisciplinary design studio organized itself around the razing of an historic oak allee at Washington University in St. Louis, and used the imminent removal of forty-three 100-year-old oaks as a catalyst for project-based investigations into the greater cultural meaning of trees-and their loss. The One Tree Project took the territory of the tree as its classroom, with the oaks serving as site, subject, and platform for public research. Pedagogically, this project identifies attention and unbuilding as fundamental design competencies, and worked with a single tree-in our durational research and ritual felling-as a tool to participate in this transformation.

Ondel-ondel is a folk entertainment that developed by the Betawi community since the 1970s. Until now, Ondel-ondel still survives and has even become an icon of the capital city of DKI Jakarta. However, the existence of Ondel-ondel is even more threatened, especially after the implementation of a regional regulation of DKI Jakarta Province which prohibits Ondel-ondel as a means of busking. This condition is ironic considering that historically Ondel-ondel was used by the Betawi community as a means of entertainment and became a form of art and culture for the Betawi community. Thus, this study raised Ondel-ondel as a research topic. The research was conducted to examine the visual appearance of Ondel-ondel with iconography and iconology theory approach of Erwin Panofsky. The iconography review emphasizes the theme and concept of Ondel-ondel's visual appearance which is personification of ancestors. Meanwhile, the interpretation of iconology is the result of the search for the meaning behind the visual appearance of Ondel-ondel which is form of balance of power between anger and kindness and courage and holiness.

This paper comments the process of creating a hybrid art installation, whose version, with the creative coding and interactive video, resulted in the artwork Tela Transeunte (2020). Therefore, it presents a brief reflection about the new media art and the hybrid art. Likewise, stands out the interdisciplinary, collaborative and shared mode of investigation, in addition to the use of open processes and codes, repositories and databases. Practices that operate between art, science and technology, also contributing to rupture the institutionalized systems and for reflection on artistic production.

Culture Strike: Art and Museums in an Age of Protestbegins with a vivid account of the circumstances that forced Laura Raicovich out of the directorship of the Queens Museum of Art, New York. When she took up the position in 2015 she inherited a not-for-profit art space that, under the previous director, Tom Finkelpearl, had pioneered responsiveness to local communities while remaining relevant to the wider region and to international visitors. This mission was not confined to an exhibition program known for landmarks such asGlobal Conceptualism: Points of Origin, 1950s–1970s(1999). Community organizers were appointed to the museum's staff. They worked directly with groups throughout one of the most diverse boroughs in the city, serving the various needs of those speaking 138 languages and dialects. Finkelpearl went on to pursue similar policies as commissioner of the New York Department of Cultural Affairs from 2014 to *** more broadly, these initiatives were instances within the wave of reforms that had for decades been sweeping through all kinds of museums as they strove to reconcile their traditional top-down educational missions with the diversity of their massively increasing numbers of interested visitors. Progressive reforms met much resistance, most insidiously the defunding of culture by neoliberal governments at all levels. Wake up all the builders: Fatigue and utopia in Washington Heights

This study explores community leaders' perceptions of the future of Washington Heights and Inwood, in New York City. Taking a modified ethnographic futures research approach, informants were asked to imagine utopian and dystopian futures of Washington Heights in 2050, eliciting their aspirations, fears, and expectations for the neighborhood. In addition, the author observed neighborhood events and Community Board meetings over two years from 2020 to 2022, while also reviewing historical analysis and social media discussions. Through this research, an ethnography of the future of the neighborhood emerged, illustrating informants' expansive visions for more just societies built on care, equity, and the celebration of new ways of being in the world. However, this research also makes clear that future visions cannot be understood independently of the troubled history of the neighborhood as well as its challenging present, which has been steeped in the fear and fatigue of the Covid-19 era and the abyss of inequality that the pandemic exposed. To act on informants' collective aspirations for the neighborhood in 2050 will require imagining the repair of injustices from the past, identifying the traces of repair that exist in the present, and carrying forward those traces toward an emancipatory future.

Parental executive functions and motivations unveil variations in young children's screen media use

Background The increased screen media use among children aged 3 to 5, particularly in the post-COVID era, is concerning. Despite several organizations' recommendation of a one-hour screen limit for young children, actual usage often exceeds this guideline. Objective: This study explored the influence of parental characteristics such as self-efficacy, motivation, socioeconomic status, and cognitive abilities on children's screen time *** Employing a feature selection model, 251 caregivers answered an online survey, presenting data from themselves and on-screen usage for 126 girls and 125 boys. We found that the caregiver's executive functions, including cognitive flexibility, initiation, task monitoring, and material organization, significantly impact children's screen time. Results: Our analysis highlighted the vital role of caregivers' self-efficacy in moderating children's screen usage. Family net income, children's age and gender, and motivations related to children's desires and behavioral control were also significant contributors to usage *** This study offers insights into interventions and effective parenting strategies in the digital age, highlighting the importance of addressing socio-demographic factors in understanding this complex issue.

The Renal Community Photo Initiative: A program Report in Ontario, Canada

Purpose of program: We initiated the Renal Community Photo Initiative to better understand why some hemodialysis users express significant capacities for resilience and hope, demonstrating outward-looking perspectives and enjoying a rich quality of life. Sources of Information: "Photovoice" is a participatory research methodology that encourages individuals to develop positive self-perceptions with photography. Photovoice empowers participants as informants within their communities. visual arts researchers surveyed existing Photovoice studies to identify gaps in knowledge to be addressed in this study, including challenges related to fostering participant agency and social action. Images and logs were collected and reviewed during organized, participant-led substudy groups. These meetings provided researchers with core study values and direction as to how the images and additional information should be used to raise awareness about living with chronic kidney disease. Methods: To address the complexity of the human condition, the Renal Community Photo Initiative offered participants an array of diverse and accessible image-making techniques. No narrative directives for image-making were provided. This qualitative, interdisciplinary, participant-centric study invited adult chronic hemodialysis patients in 4 dialysis units in London and Stratford, Ontario, to participate. The research team designed a selection of different, accessible photo technologies for participant use. Eligible participants were invited to select photographic technologies and given the additional option to write accompanying logs. Researchers organized substudy meetings for participant-led focus groups to discuss core study values and personal encounters with images and image-making. Participants directed how their generated images should be shared with the public and researchers.
