Pattern Matching for Feasible and Efficient Physical design Verification of Cell Libraries

This study introduces a pattern-matching method to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of physical verification of cell libraries. The pattern-matching method swiftly compares layouts of all I/O units within a specific area, identifying significantly different I/O units. Utilizing random sampling or full permutation can improve the efficiency of verification of I/O cell libraries. All permutations within an 11-unit I/O unit library can produce 39,916,800 I/O units (11!), far exceeding the capacity of current IC layout software. However, the proposed algorithm generates the layout file within 1 second and significantly reduces the DRC verification time from infinite duration to 63 seconds executing 415 DRC rules. This approach effectively improves the potential to detect layer density errors in I/O libraries. While conventional processes detect layer density and DRC issues only when adjacent I/O cells are placed due to layout size and machine constraints, in this work, the proposed algorithm selectively generates multiple distinct combinations of I/O cells for verification, crucial for improving the accuracy of physical design.

With the advent of the post-quantum era, the most worrying issue is information security. Quantum computers have been able to crack common asymmetric cryptography, such as RSA, DSA, ECC, etc, by Shor's Algorithm. In terms of common symmetric-key algorithm, Grover's algorithm can reduce the difficulty of brute-force cracking from N attempt to √N [1], which decreases the security. In other words, the symmetric-key algorithm doubling the key size can effectively resist quantum attacks. Hence, AES-256 will be a worthwhile research topic in the future. © 2024 IEEE.

In this article, a complete 3-D integrated sensing system intended for practical applications was presented on a printed circuit board (PCB) board, starting with lead-free piezoelectric films deposited using an RF sputtering system, an MEMS structure design/simulation, device fabrication, and a signal processing chip design, including charge- to-voltage transformation, signal amplification, 60-Hz noise rejection, and low-power RF wireless transmission chip for remote monitoring. Both the signal processing chips and the RF wireless transmitter chips were manufactured using the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) CMOS process. The piezoelectric coefficient d33 was measured as 27.21 pm/V of the proposed ZnO:Li doped Mg (MLZO) films. To meet the frequency specifications of industrial applications, the ring-structure devices with a 7730-Hz resonance frequency were designed using ANSYS simulation software. There was only a 0.39% deviation compared to the simulation results with the actual experimental data. The measurement results of the proposed system showed that the acceleration detection range was approximately 137 mV/ g (p-p). The voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) adopted in the wireless transmitter chip had a four-leaf clover structure inductor with two symmetrical axes resulting in better suppression of magnetic field radiation. Finally, this system was applied to industrial spindles, and the normal and abnormal operation information of spindles was successfully and wirelessly monitored. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

Hybrid organic-inorganic FAPbI(3) has emerged as a highly promising material for near-infrared perovskite light-emitting diodes (NIR PeLEDs), with potential applications in biometric identification, biomedical imaging, and night vision technologies. However, FAPbI(3)-based flexible light-emitting diodes suffer from severe charge injection imbalance, where electron injection significantly exceeds hole injection, leading to exciton quenching and suboptimal device performance. To address this limitation, we propose a composite hole transport layer (HTL) to regulate charge injection and recombination dynamics. In this study, a composite HTL comprising Poly-TPD as the host matrix and 1,1-bis[4-[N,N'-bis(4-methylphenyl)amino]phenyl]cyclohexane (TAPC) as dopants at varying concentrations was employed. The optimized doping concentration resulted in a 34% enhancement in external quantum efficiency (EQE) compared to pristine poly-TPD. Furthermore, the integration of high-stability FAPbI(3) quantum dots with the composite HTL demonstrated remarkable advantages for flexible optoelectronics, yielding a maximum current density of 631.4 mA/cm(2), a peak EQE of 3.9%, and a maximum radiant flux of 13.7 W sr(-1) m(-2). Notably, the device retained 93% of its initial EQE even after 20 bending cycles, underscoring its mechanical robustness and potential for next-generation flexible display and sensing technologies.

In the contemporary era of rapid technological advancement, light-emitting diode (LED) technology has become indispensable in many fields, including lighting, display, and communication. Nevertheless, developing efficient light sources in the near-infrared (NIR) region presents a significant challenge. Perovskite materials have garnered considerable interest in this spectral range due to their exemplary optical properties. An efficient perovskite near-infrared light source was synthesized at room temperature by utilizing the small molecule amino acid D-4-tert-butylphenylalanine (D4TBP). This resulted in successfully synthesizing a highly stable D4TBP-FAPbI3 near-infrared perovskite quantum dot. The photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) increased from 40 % to 68 %, and the film's contact angle improved from 65.36° to 93.87°, significantly enhancing its environmental stability. © 2025

The present work analyzes a four-terminal Hall-plate device to determine the main sources of error and explain how current-spinning technique can be used to effectively reduce offset and noise. Based on this analysis, an improved magnetic sensor is designed using an eight terminal octagonal Hall plate and a chopped-based control circuit to implement the current-spinning technique. Since Hall plates are complete compatible with the CMOS manufacturing process, a monolithic chip which contains the sensor, switches, digital control and bias circuit were fabricated using a 0.6 mu m commercial CMOS process. These devices are used to test the offset cancellation methodology and compare if there are advantages related to the device orientation or switching sequence. Experimental results show a residual offset of 0.25 mT, a 99% reduction compared with the original offset level measured at Hall plate.

The paper presents the birth of the world first FPGA, called the XC2064. Xilinx and Seiko worked together to solve the whisker issue and a few others, and soon the XC2064, the world's first FPGA, was commercially available. It was the beginning of a fruitful relationship between the two companies. In addition to providing an additional revenue stream to Seiko, running FPGAs with their repetitive structures through the fabs helped Seiko debug subsequent generations of silicon processes and produce greater yields and lower costs for all devices it manufactured. This use of FPGAs as a "process driver" allowed Xilinx access to leading-edge manufacturing technology at Seiko and at other foundries.
