In the last years business process mining has become a wide research area. However, existing process mining techniques encounter challenges while dealing with event logs stemming from highly flexible environments because such logs contain a large amount of different behaviors. As a result, inaccurate and wrong analysis results might be obtained. In this paper we propose a case (a case is an instance of the business process) classification technique which is able to combine domain experts knowledge for classifying cases so that each group is calculated containing the cases with similar behaviors. By applying existing process mining techniques on the cases for each group, more meaningful and accurate analysis results can be obtained.

During the commissioning phase of production systems the identification and correction of malfunctions is a tedious task mainly done manually by commissioning engineers. This task is of high importance because missed malfunctions may result in hazardous behavior during operation phase. At this point, regardless of the engineers expertise a systematic support can drastically decrease the risk of missed malfunctions. A promising systematic approach is to use engineering artifacts of the system design phase as an information source to identify unexpected behavior regarding the specification. This paper proposes such a systematic approach based on model-based testing resulting in automatic test case generation and execution which allows to support engineers with learned models representing the expected transient system behavior. Subsequently, the obtained models are used for detection of unexpected behavior during commissioning. The unexpected behavior is presented to a commissioning engineer who decides if the behavior (1) is correct and will be added to the models or (2) represents an identified system malfunction. The approach is evaluated on a demonstration plant.

In this paper, we present PDP, a distributed polling protocol that enables a set of participants to gather their opinion on a common interest without revealing their point of view. PDP does not rely on any centralized authority or on heavyweight cryptography. PDP is an overlay-based protocol where a subset of participants may use a simple sharing scheme to express their votes. In a system of M participants arranged in groups of size N where at least 2k-1 participants are honest, PDP bounds the probability for a given participant to have its vote recovered with certainty by a coalition of B dishonest participants by π(B/N) (k+1) , where π is the proportion of participants splitting their votes, and k a privacy parameter. PDP bounds the impact of dishonest participants on the global outcome by 2(kα + BN), where represents the number of dishonest nodes using the sharing scheme.

A number of popular engineering processes and methodologies emerged over the past years which attracted interest in research and industry. For process enactment, enterprises have to match requirements of engineering processes with existing resources. Therefore, it has to be analyzed if employees have sufficient skills or if infrastructure has sufficient capabilities to match the requirements of a situational process. Both, maintaining a skill and resource database and matching requirements against this database are an enormously challenging and time-consuming task. Additionally, this matching has to be carried out regularly as employees join and leave the company and skills change over time. Based upon a formal, logical base, we present an approach that combines ontological and metamodeling technical spaces and enables an automatic analysis of engineering processes regarding the existence of necessary resources.
