Customer Life Time Value (CLTV) is a vital customer analytics metric that is intended to inform companies on the right investment in customer acquisition, retention, and engagement. Conventional CLTV models are heavily dependent on purchase frequency and money-value transaction information, but not customer satisfaction measurements like ratings. This paper proposes a general framework for incorporating ratings into machine learning models for CLTV prediction. Taking advantage of the merits of ensemble learning methods, the paper uses both transactional and satisfaction data to uncover the complex customer behavior dynamics. Our experimental finding indicates the better predictive performance of satisfaction-based models, providing companies with a sound basis to enhance customer analytics activities.

This paper provides visions of what we mean by climate science centered learning, principles for fostering climate science learning, and guidance for capacity-building to achieve systemic implementation of climate science learning.

In 2010 Pakistan experienced the worst floods recorded in its history;millions of people were affected and thousands lost their lives. Nutrition assessment surveys led by UNICEF were conducted in flood-affected areas of Punjab and Sindh provinces to assess the nutrition status of children between 659 months while Aga Khan University (AKU) undertook a parallel assessment including micronutrient status in their project areas within Balochistan, Sindh and Punjab. Standardised Monitoring and Assessment of Relief and Transition (SMART) methodology was used. 881 children from Sindh, 1,143 from Punjab and 817 from AKU project areas were measured for anthropometry and their households were interviewed. The findings indicated that while immediate life-saving interventions were essential, there was also an urgent need to address chronic malnutrition. Through high-level dissemination of the survey results, treatment and prevention of malnutrition has become a priority for the provincial and federal government in Pakistan and for donors.

Modern manufacturing processes are constantly under observation to improve efficiency and reduce costs. In many cases new materials like CFK need a different approach to check part tolerances which in general increase the effort. Based on these facts a 6DoF Laser Tracker System could become one solution to reduce costs and improve measurement quality especially in the direction of automation. The following paper describes a Laser Tracker with a machine control probe (T-Mac) for online measurements of machines or robots. Measurements to analyse static and dynamic robot performance and different methods to calibrate or improve absolute accuracy of robots are shown. Meanwhile online corrections for a robot or a machine can be realized with an update-rate of 10 Hz, but activities to establish a 1000 Hz real-time interface are planned. With the 6DoF capability this Laser Tracker system provides significant enhancements for measurement assisted assembly or for automated part inspection directly. Recently started developments for further sensor enhancements with respect to automated part inspection will open additional fields of robot and machine applications. DRUG TESTING FOR YOUTHFUL OFFENDERS ON PAROLE: AN EXPERIMENTAL EVALUATION*

Research interests focus on the characteristics of juvenile offenders committed to the CYA and their prognosis once released. He is currently principal investigator of a large-scale study of mental health status and institutional adjustment of 1000 wards in the CYA Rual (Lee) Britton is a Research Specialist with the California Youth Authority where he has been involved with research on the drug testing of parolees the assessment of the mental health needs of juvenile offenders and the evaluation of treatment programs. His research interests include jury behavior juvenile correctional programming mental heath issues with juvenile offenders and the long-term criminal careers of serious juvenile offenders

Research Summary: The present experimental study examined parole outcomes and arrests for 1,958 California Youth Authority parolees, randomly assigned to levels of routine drug testing ranging from “no testing” to two tests per month. Results showed no improved outcomes from more frequent drug testing. Early positive drug tests, however, indicated increased risk of recidivism. Policy Implications: Although limited in its scope, this study provided experimental evidence that little crime-reduction benefit of routine drug testing above a minimum level exists for regular parolees. However, drug testing may serve as a relatively straightforward risk assessment procedure for future criminal behavior.

Some of the significant factors that need to be considered to detect and prevent programmable integrated circuits (IC) defects, are discussed. The failure analysis of ICs can detect the cause of failure of a board on a SMT line. An IC can be damaged by internal lot-sensitive defects and external packaging or handling defects. The internal defects need to be detected by programming before placing it on the board. Defects can caused by humidity, temperature, vibration, or any mechanical disturbances. The external forces responsible for defects are moisture penetration, mechanical stress cracks, improper bonding, crystal defects, and fabrication faults. A X-ray test can be used to detect poor bonding interfaces, wire sweep, voids in the die attach, and voids in the molding compounds. programming before placement can reduce the scrap and re-work.

Cynthia was director of the Mediation* Arbitration Center and a clinical law professor at the University of Denver College of Law from 1988-1996. Cynthia received her law degree from Harvard Law School in 1981 and her BA in psychology from the University of Michigan in 1975. Eileen Pruett program manager Dispute Resolution Programs Section of Judicial and Court Services Division of the Supreme Court of Ohio has been with the Court since 1992. She is a lawyer mediator and trainer. She has published and given numerous papers and presentations on issues related to alternative dispute resolution. She serves on the Board for the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC) and on the Editorial Board for Family Court Review. She is a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Law and Indiana University. She has been involved with dispute resolution programming since 1980.

Over the past 27 years, since the concept of the multidoor courthouse was first introduced, methods for resolving family issues have increasingly focused on less adversarial and more collaborative approaches. Infrastructures have developed in a variety of ways in different states to initiate, support, and promote these approaches, and pilot projects have provided an invaluable avenue for testing and implementing changes. This article will describe some of the current statewide initiatives to develop infrastructure and implement change through creative pilot projects and will propose strategies to sustain these changes.

Acoustic wave sensor for real-time monitoring of volatile organic compounds

Mr. Modell has extensive experience in process control systems (PLCs PCs distributed control systems and SCADA systems) and sensors used in the environmental and remedial engineering processes and operations. Mr. Modell has further experience with software and hardware configuration programming implementation and total quality management techniques. He has received master's degrees in environmental engineering and chemical engineering from The Johns Hopkins University and Case Western Reserve University. Mr. Modell also has an M.B.A. in finance from Case Western Reserve University. He is active in The American Industrial Hygiene Association the American Institute of Chemical Engineers the International Society of Measurement and Control the Sociely of American Military Engineers and is an officer in the National and Maryland Society of Professional Engineers. He serves as a director and advisor to the legdative board fm the Maryland Engineering Society Joint Council.

On-line real-time monitoring of marine and operational exhaust stacks and process streams can play a critical role in providing safe, environmentally sound operation of marine and industrial processes using volatile organic species. Monitoring systems are needed that are inexpensive and powerful to be effective. It has been demonstrated that two independent responses, wave velocity and wave attenuation can be obtained from surface acoustic wave devices coated with viscoelastic polymers. This output technique enables identification and concentration determination of isolated species with a single sensor. This paper discusses the development of the sensor devices and the basis of portable acoustic wave sensor systems (which are being used) to monitor volatile organic compounds from marine and industrial chemical processes. Furthermore, on-line monitoring of spray cleaning processes has been effective in quantifying how emissions can be decreased based on substituting solvents, optimizing worker protocols, and utilizing new spray nozzle configurations.

作者： FAIRHEAD, DL HALL, CC Since graduating from Cleveland State University in 1965 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics he has worked for the Navy at Annapolis participating in several different automation efforts ranging from design aids to surface ship bridge control. Mr. Fairhead has completed graduate work in Computer Science at the University of Maryland has a certificate in Computer Programming holds a patent and is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). Upon graduation from Morgan State in 1962 Mr. Hall was employed as a physicist at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division Annapolis until 1994. During that time period he served as program technical manager for propulsion technology and as senior project scientist for several automation projects including the Automated Ships Bridge project. Mr. Hall also served as a member of the initial Technical Director's Technology Application Team and of the Autonomic Ship Innovation Center Team. Mr. Hall is a member of the American Institute of Physics and Sigma Pi Sigma (National Physics Honor Society).

A growing concern about the shrinking size of the U.S. Navy budget and the pool from which selections will be made to ''man'' U. S. Navy shipboard systems has led to investigations on achieving improvements in affordability and operational effectiveness. One such investigation has resulted in the development of the Standard Monitoring and Control System (SMCS), a modular, open architecture control system which includes the control system components for propulsion, electric plant, auxiliaries, and damage control. The first major technology upgrade to SMCS will entail the insertion of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies into HM&E monitoring and control applications. The Intelligent Machinery Control Integration Task (IMCI) was established to provide a structural approach for this major technology upgrade. As part of the first phase of IMCI, an identification of intelligent control requirements, an assessment of AI technologies, and a survey of intelligent control applications were performed. This paper lists those HM&E-related shipboard operational requirements from which intelligent machinery control requirements will be identified. Also, there is an initial assessment of AI-related reasoning and the following AI technologies, knowledge-based systems, fuzzy logic, neural nets, and genetic algorithms. The survey provided some insight into applying AI technologies to SMCS shipboard operational requirements.
