This study aims to discuss the existence and uniqueness of solution of fuzzy Volterra integral equations with piecewise continuous kernels. These types of problems are often encountered in balancing issues for systems with hereditary dynamics,such as electric load leveling. The method of successive approximations is applied and the main theorems are proved based on the method. Some examples are discussed and the results are presented for different values of μ by plotting several graphs. In order to show the accuracy of the method, the results have compared with the homotopy analysis method.

The polynomial spline collocation method is proposed for solution of Volterra integral equations of the first kind with special piecewise continuous kernels. The Gauss-type quadrature formula is used to approximate integrals during the discretization of the proposed projection method. The estimate of accuracy of approximate solution is obtained. Stochastic arithmetics is also used based on the Contrôle et Estimation Stochastique des Arrondis de Calculs (CESTAC) method and the Control of Accuracy and Debugging for Numerical Applications (CADNA) library. Applying this approach it is possible to find optimal parameters of the projective method. —The mathematical model for many problems is arising in different industries of natural science, basically formulated using differential, integral and integro-differential equations. The investigation of these equations is conducted with the help of numerical integration theory. It is commonly known that a class of problems can be solved by applying numerical integration. The construction of the quadrature formula has a direct relation with the computation of definite integrals. The theory of definite integrals is used in geometry, physics, mechanics and in other related subjects of science. In this work, the existence and uniqueness of the solution of above-mentioned equations are investigated. By this way, the domain has been defined in which the solution of these problems is equivalent. All proposed four problems can be solved using one and the same methods. We define some domains in which the solution of one of these problems is also the solution of the other problems. Some stable methods with the degree p © 2021, North Atlantic University Union NAUN. In the last years, Virtual Reality (VR) has been established itself as a highly promising media technology for reconstruction and presentation of cultural heritage sites to a wide audience. Virtual Reality enables not only an exploration of a single artefact but of many virtual objects spatially and temporally arranged into a single scene. The users enter an artificially created space and get a feeling of being a part of it. They can perceive and interact with the objects in the virtual environment in natural way. In this paper we propose a conceptual model of the VR module for the “Virtual Plaza for Immersive Representation of Bulgarian Cultural Heritage Sites”. It contains an analysis of the possible input data and the developed workflows to help experts from the cultural heritage domain to implement various scenarios for presentation of single artefacts and complete scene par of cultural heritage site using the benefits of Virtual Reality as visualization medium.

Revealing academic web interlinking motives through webometrics and statistical techniques: Nigerian university websites as a case study

The websites of the universities of Africa's most populous country Nigeria were examined. The goal was to unearth the reasons why external hyperlinks are placed on these sites and identify any peculiarities by geographical location. Academic website interlinking motivations were formulated. Over 6,000 hyperlinks placed on the websites of 86 Nigerian universities were categorised under these interlinking motivations. Categorising the motivations by examining the source and target pages of each hyperlink was an arduous task. Statistical analysis offered a clearer picture of the interlinking motives. A chi-squared test revealed distinctive features, which are characteristic of specific geographical regions of Nigeria. The study serves as a route to further research on feasibility of findings in other developing countries. Results obtained could be of great importance for academic webpage developers and authors. The results could modify their work towards improving the use of hyperlinks as a major communication tool on the web. Copyright © 2016 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.

A hardware/software co-designed processor transparently supports a ubiquitous ISA (e.g. ×86) with diversified and innovative microarchitectural implementations. It leverages co-designed HW features and dynamic binary translation (DBT) SW to morph existing binary programs to scale performance and save power. On such systems, the portable bytecode of modern dynamic languages (e.g. Java, JavaScript, etc.) is first translated into the code in the architecture ISA by the just-in-time (JIT) compilation in the bytecode virtual machine, and then into the code in the internal implementation ISA by the DBT. This not only incurs the translation overheads twice, but also brings significant emulation inefficiency as the DBT does not have the high level bytecode information. In this paper, we present AccelDroid, which accelerates the Android Dalvik bytecode execution on the HW/SW co-designed processor through direct bytecode translation in the DBT. Our experiments on a HW/SW co-designed Transmeta Efficeon machine show that AccelDroid can improve performance by 78% and save energy by 40% for the CaffeineMark 3.0 benchmark suite.

In this paper, we present PDP, a distributed polling protocol that enables a set of participants to gather their opinion on a common interest without revealing their point of view. PDP does not rely on any centralized authority or on heavyweight cryptography. PDP is an overlay-based protocol where a subset of participants may use a simple sharing scheme to express their votes. In a system of M participants arranged in groups of size N where at least 2k-1 participants are honest, PDP bounds the probability for a given participant to have its vote recovered with certainty by a coalition of B dishonest participants by π(B/N) (k+1) , where π is the proportion of participants splitting their votes, and k a privacy parameter. PDP bounds the impact of dishonest participants on the global outcome by 2(kα + BN), where represents the number of dishonest nodes using the sharing scheme.

Traditional alias analysis is expensive and ineffective for dynamic optimizations. In practice, dynamic optimization systems perform memory optimizations speculatively, and rely on hardware, such as alias registers, to detect memory aliases at runtime. Existing hardware alias detection schemes either cannot scale up to a large number of alias registers or may introduce false positives. Order-based alias detection overcomes the limitations. However, it brings considerable challenges as how software can efficiently manage the alias register queue and impose restrictions on optimizations. In this paper, we present SMARQ, a Software-Managed Alias Register Queue, which manages the alias register queue efficiently and supports more aggressive speculative optimizations. We conducted experiments with a dynamic optimization system on a VLIW processor that has 64 alias registers. The experiments on a suite of SPECFP2000 benchmarks show that SMARQ improves the overall performance by 39% as compared to the case without hardware alias detection. By scaling up to a large number (from 16 to 64) of alias registers, SMARQ improves performance by 10%. Compared to a technique with false positives (similar to Itanium), SMARQ improves performance by 13%. To reduce the chance of alias register overflow, the novel alias register allocation algorithm in SMARQ reduces the alias register working set by 74% as compared to a straightforward alias register allocation based on program order.

Program optimization on multi-core systems must preserve the program memory consistency. This paper studies TSO-preserving binary optimization. We introduce a novel approach to formally model TSO-preserving binary optimization based on the formal TSO memory model. The major contribution of the modeling is a sound and complete algorithm to verify TSO-preserving binary optimization with O(N 2 ) complexity. We also developed a dynamic binary optimization system to evaluate the performance impact of TSO-preserving optimization. We show in our experiments that, dynamic binary optimization without memory optimizations can improve performance by 8.1%. TSO-preserving optimizations can further improve the performance by 4.8% to a total 12.9%. Without considering the restriction for TSO-preserving optimizations, the dynamic binary optimization can improve the overall performance to 20.4%.

HW/SW Co-designed systems rely on dynamic binary translation and optimizations for efficient execution of binary code. Due to memory ordering properties and other architectural constraints, most binary optimizations are applied to regions of code that are atomically executed. To ensure that the underlying hardware has enough speculative resources to execute the whole atomic region, these systems typically form short atomic regions, with only 20 to 30 instructions. However, the shorter is the atomic region the smaller is the scope for optimizations. We present LAR-CC, a novel technique that enables HW/SW co-designed systems to optimize large atomic regions and dynamically fit them into the available speculative hardware resources by means of conditional commits. The LAR-CC technique consists of two major components: 1) conditional branch instructions to conditionally skip commit operations; 2) code transformations that replace commit operations by conditional commits and enable optimizations to be applied on the large atomic regions. Our experiments show that LAR-CC can effectively achieve dynamic atomic region sizes larger than 1000 instructions, providing sufficiently large scope to apply many advanced optimizations on HW/SW co-designed systems.
