This paper presents a novel method on coloring the grayscale images. For this purpose, a combination of artificial neural networks and some image processing algorithms was developed to transfer colors from a user-selected source image to a target grayscale image. According to the results of this combining method, a survey where volunteers were asked to rate the plausibility of the colorings generated automatically was performed for individual images. In most cases automatically-colored images were rated either as totally or mostly acceptable.

In the conditions of industrial production many processes of polymerisation are nonstationary. By processes optimization with the regard for such features as basic data it is necessary to use adaptive algorithms of identification, allowing mathematical model of process continuously to be adapted for changing conditions of operation. Use of such algorithms for process optimization demands periodic recalculation of optimum technological modes of process. Polymer reaction engineering is a discipline that deals with various problems concerning the fundamental nature of chemical and physical phenomena in polymerization processes. Mathematical modeling is a powerful tool for the development of process understanding and advanced reactor technology in the polymer industry. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

The axiom system ACP of [BEK84a] was extended to cliscrete time in [BAB95]. Here we proceed to define the silent step in this theory in branching bisimulation semantics [GLW91, BAW90] rather than weak bisimulation semantics [MIL89, BEK85]. We present versions based on relative timing and on absolute timing. Both approaches are integrated using parametric timing. The time free ACP theory is embedded in the discrete time theory. Cancer victims, particularly those with lung cancer, are more susceptible and at higher danger of COVID-19 and associated consequences as a result of their compromised immune systems, which makes them particularly sensitive. Because of a variety of circumstances, cancer patients' diagnosis, treatment, and aftercare are very complicated and time-consuming during an epidemic. In such circumstances, advances in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning algorithms (ML) offer the capacity to boost cancer sufferer diagnosis, therapy, and care via the use of cutting technologies. For example, using clinical and imaging data combined with machine learning methods, the researchers may be able to distinguish among lung alterations induced by corona virus and those produced by immunotherapy and radiation. During this epidemic, artificial intelligence (AI) may be utilized to guarantee that the appropriate individuals are recruited in cancer clinical trials more quickly and effectively than in the past, which was done in a conventional and complicated manner. In order to better care for cancer patients and find novel and more effective therapies, It is critical that we move beyond traditional research methods and use artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to update our research (ML). Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) are being utilised to help with several aspects of the COVID-19 epidemic, such as epidemiology, molecular research and medication development, medical diagnosis and treatment, and socioeconomics. The use of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) in the diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19 patients is also being investigated. In this paper, intellectual technology is applied with the device of fuzzy logic as the basis of a developed system of learning and testing. This system is used to automate the process of teaching and control of knowledge of students in higher education institutions. The quality of the intellectual learn learning system directly depends on the accuracy of the definition of the student's current level of knowledge, as well as the choice of a learning strategy. It can be a transition to teaching new material, review of old material, or the learning completion.

The LS-STAG immersed boundary cut-cell method modification for viscoelastic flow computations is presented. Rate type viscoelastic flow models (linear and quasilinear) are considered. Rate type viscoelastic flow models (linear and quasilinear) are considered. The obtained numerical method is implemented in the LS-STAG software package developed by the author. This software allows to simulate viscous incompressible flows by using the LS-STAG method and it modifications. The LS-STAG-discretization of extra-stress equations for viscoelastic Maxwell, Jeffreys, upper-convected Maxwell, Maxwell-A, Oldroyd-B, Oldroyd-A, Johnson Segalman fluids was developed. Formulae for differential types of convected time derivatives (Oldroyd, Cotter-Rivlin, Jaumann-Zaremba-Noll derivatives) the LS-STAG discretization was obtained. Normal non-newtonian stresses are computed at the centers of base LS-STAG mesh cells and shear non-newtonian stresses are computed at the cell corners. Time-stepping algorithm is based on the first order predictor-corrector scheme. To validate developed numerical method the test problem about viscoelastic Oldroyd-B flow past a circular airfoil was used. Computational experiments were carried out at Weissenberg number in the range from 0 to 4. The computed values of the drag coefficients and the wake length are in good agreement with the experimental data. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Biocomputing and molecular biology are areas that change knowledge and skills for acquisition, storing, management, analysis, interpretation and dissemination of biological information. This requires the utilization of high performance computers and innovative software tools for management of the vast information, as well as deployment of innovative algorithmic techniques for analysis, interpretation and prognostication of data in order to get to insight of the design and validation of life-science experiments. Sequence alignment is an important method in DNA and protein analysis. The paper describes the computational challenges in biological sequence processing. The great challenges are to propose parallel computational models and parallel program implementations based on the algorithms for biological sequence alignment. An investigation of the efficiency of sequence alignment based on parallel multithreaded program implementation of Needleman-Wunsch algorithm is presented in this paper. Parallel computational model based on Needleman-Wunsch algorithm is designed. The proposed parallel model is verified by multithreaded parallel program implementation utilizing OpenMP. A number of experiments have been carried out for the case of various data sets and a various number of threads. Parallel performance parameters execution time and speedup are estimated experimentally. The performance estimation and scalability analyses show that the suggested model has good scalability both in respect to the workload and machine size.

Data poisoning attacks, where adversaries manipulate training data to degrade model performance, are an emerging threat as machine learning becomes widely deployed in sensitive applications. This paper provides a comprehensive overview of data poisoning including attack techniques, adversary incentives, impacts on security and reliability, detection methods, defenses, and key research gaps. We examine label flipping, instance injection, backdoors, and other attack categories that enable malicious outcomes ranging from IP theft to accidents in autonomous systems. Promising detection approaches include statistical tests, robust learning, and forensics. However, significant challenges remain in translating academic defenses like adversarial training and sanitization into practical tools ready for operational use. With safety and trustworthiness at stake, more research on benchmarking evaluations, adaptive attacks, fundamental tradeoffs, and real-world deployment of defenses is urgently needed. Understanding vulnerabilities and developing resilient machine learning pipelines will only grow in importance as data integrity is fundamental to developing safe artificial intelligence. © The Institution of Engineering & technology 2023.

Selection of insulation material and determination of its thickness are the two most important parameters that prevent heat loss. Too much thickness complicates the price and use. The low coefficient of thermal conductivity of the insulation material reduces heat loss and increases the cost. One of the most important factors when determining the material thickness and conductivity coefficient is the price. In this study, two cases were examined under certain conditions, independent of the price. In the first case, the insulation material is determined, whereas the material thickness is determined in the second case. Six different current metaheuristic algorithms were used to calculate the two cases. It has been observed that harris hawks optimization (HHO), salp swarm optimization (SSO), and whale optimization (WO) algorithms determine the global optimum point without any error in determining the targets of the problem while the processing times were short. Overall, it has been seen that all six algorithms can create solutions to heat transfer problems with very low errors. © 2022 IEEE.

Access control is a vital security mechanism in today's operating systems, and the security policies dictating the security relevant behaviors is lengthy and complex, for example in Security-Enhanced Linux (SELinux). It is extremely difficult to verify the consistency between the security policies and the security goals desired by applications. In this paper, we present how to predict whether the information flow security goal is violated or not during runtime, how to generate the corresponding control actions on-line when divergence is detected and how to apply these actions in time based on software active monitoring technique. The symbolic security information flow model of SElinux is generated from a formalization of the access control mechanism which can be used to generate the N-step ahead projection of the future behavior. Information flow security goals are expressed in linear temporal logic (LTL) which provides clear description of the objectives desired by applications. Anticipatory monitor is generated from LTL formula automatically. We consider an on-line scheme where after the occurrence of an event, the next control action is determined on the basis of the N-step ahead projection of the future behavior. This procedure is repeated after the occurrence of next security relevant event. Thus, a closed-loop system is generated that all behavior sequences will satisfy the security goals.
