The methods of nonlinear adaptation based on an analytical design of aggregated regulators and modal control are discussed for solving the problem of nonlinear control over a robotic arm operating under the conditions of nonrandom noise. A comparative analysis of control is performed under different types of noise variables. It is shown that both control systems are adaptive and robust, while their transient process quality characteristics differ. The results of numerical modeling support the method of nonlinear adaptation as far as the value of overshoot is concerned in the case of nonrandom noise and evidence in favor of the method of modal control identifying the noise for off-design conditions (random high level noise).

The term Research Software Engineer, or RSE, emerged a little over 10 years ago as a way to represent individuals working in the research community but focusing on software development. The term has been widely adopted and there are a number of high-level definitions of what an RSE is. However, the roles of RSEs vary depending on the institutional context they work in. At one end of the spectrum, RSE roles may look similar to a traditional research role. At the other extreme, they resemble that of a software engineer in industry. Most RSE roles inhabit the space between these two extremes. Therefore, providing a straightforward, comprehensive definition of what an RSE does and what experience, skills and competencies are required to become one is challenging. In this community paper we define the broad notion of what an RSE is, explore the different types of work they undertake, and define a list of foundational competencies as well as values that outline the general profile of an RSE. Further research and training can build upon this foundation of skills and focus on various aspects in greater detail. We expect that graduates and practitioners will have a larger and more diverse set of skills than outlined here. On this basis, we elaborate on the progression of these skills along different dimensions. We look at specific types of RSE roles, propose recommendations for organisations, and give examples of future specialisations. An overview of existing urban software mobile applications of the transport and economic direction is given. A model of a functional rationalizer of consumer behavior is being built. The software model of the functional rationalizer of consumer behavior (SM FRCB) was developed for the first time. PMFRCB allows the user to expand the number of his preferred needs (occupations, activities) during the daily cycle through intelligent recommendations. Also, SM FRCB allows you to optimize needs (activities, activities) at the cost and rate of their use. The SM FRCB is made in Python_3 using the libraries matplotlib, collections, numpy, pyplot, mplot3d. The analysis of consumer behavior before and after using the functional rationalizer model is carried out. The graphical results of a structural analysis of the costs of old and new consumer behavior, analysis of consumer behavior within the boundaries of the theory of possibilities and the model of transport behavior of a resident before and after applying the functional rationalizer model are presented. The prospects of further improving the SM FRCB are considered. © 2020 IEEE.

Federated Learning (FL) allows multiple clients to collaboratively train machine learning models without the need to share their local private data. As a result, it can effectively address the issue of data fragmentation. Nevertheless, insufficient evaluation of individual contributions and the lack of protections for both the intellectual property rights (IPR) of models and client privacy can greatly reduce clients' motivations in federated training. To address these challenges, this paper introduces the Traceable Contribution Evaluation and Model Ownership Protection (TraCemop) framework for federated learning, which allows each client to swiftly assess the contributions of others in each round, with integrated support for the traceability of evaluation results. To safeguard the intellectual property of models, a collective watermark is embedded in the global model. Additionally, a secure mechanism for verifying model ownership is also available in case of disputes. Security analysis indicates that TraCemop is capable of resisting data reconstruction attacks as well as various types of model copyright infringements. Finally, we evaluate the proposed framework using two commonly-used datasets, and the experimental results show a significant improvement in the efficiency of contribution evaluation compared to existing methods. Meanwhile, IPR infringement tests on TraCemop reveal that the proposed framework is resilient against malicious efforts to monopolize model ownership. © 2002-2012 IEEE.

In software-defined networks(SDNs),controller placement is a critical factor in the design and planning for the future Internet of Things(IoT),telecommunication,and satellite communication *** research has concentrated largely on factors such as reliability,latency,controller capacity,propagation delay,and energy ***,SDNs are vulnerable to distributed denial of service(DDoS)attacks that interfere with legitimate use of the *** ever-increasing frequency of DDoS attacks has made it necessary to consider them in network design,especially in critical applications such as military,health care,and financial services networks requiring high *** propose a mathematical model for planning the deployment of SDN smart backup controllers(SBCs)to preserve service in the presence of DDoS *** a number of input parameters,our model has two distinct ***,it determines the optimal number of primary controllers to place at specific locations or nodes under normal operating ***,it recommends an optimal number of smart backup controllers for use with different levels of DDoS *** goal of the model is to improve resistance to DDoS attacks while optimizing the overall cost based on the *** simulated results demonstrate that the model is useful in planning for SDN reliability in the presence of DDoS attacks while managing the overall cost.

Dataset search in biodiversity research: Do metadata in data repositories reflect scholarly information needs?

The increasing amount of publicly available research data provides the opportunity to link and integrate data in order to create and prove novel hypotheses, to repeat experiments or to compare recent data to data collected at a different time or place. However, recent studies have shown that retrieving relevant data for data reuse is a time-consuming task in daily research practice. In this study, we explore what hampers dataset retrieval in biodiversity research, a field that produces a large amount of heterogeneous data. We analyze the primary source in dataset search - metadata - and determine if they reflect scholarly search interests. We examine if metadata standards provide elements corresponding to search interests, we inspect if selected data repositories use metadata standards representing scholarly interests, and we determine how many fields of the metadata standards used are filled. To determine search interests in biodiversity research, we gathered 169 questions that researchers aimed to answer with the help of retrieved data, identified biological entities and grouped them into 13 categories. The categories were evaluated with nine biodiversity scholars who assigned one of the types to pre-labeled biological entities in the questions. Our findings indicate that environments, materials and chemicals, species, biological and chemical processes, locations, data parameters and data types are important search interests in biodiversity research. The comparison with existing metadata standards shows that domain-specific standards cover search interests quite well, whereas general standards do not explicitly contain elements that reflect search interests. We inspect metadata from five large data repositories. Our results confirm that metadata currently poorly reflect search interests in biodiversity research. From these findings, we derive recommendations for researchers and data repositories how to bridge the gap between search interest and metadata provided.

Recent trends towards autonomous driving are complemented by vehicular networking solutions, leading to what we now call cooperative autonomous driving systems. This trend is quite visible to the public in the automotive domain;however, only few know about the massive technological progress in the agricultural world. Here, autonomous driving, i.e., automated harvesting, etc, is already standard and early approaches to cooperative maneuvers have been brought to market already. The open question is how to internetwork all heavy machinery. We address exactly this issue and study the feasibility of wireless communication protocol stacks, in particular IEEE 802.11p, developed for use on the road - now for in-field operation. We performed an extensive measurement study, which brings up several quite interesting findings that need to be taken care of when adopting these protocol stacks to agricultural applications. © 2018 IEEE.

—The mathematical model for many problems is arising in different industries of natural science, basically formulated using differential, integral and integro-differential equations. The investigation of these equations is conducted with the help of numerical integration theory. It is commonly known that a class of problems can be solved by applying numerical integration. The construction of the quadrature formula has a direct relation with the computation of definite integrals. The theory of definite integrals is used in geometry, physics, mechanics and in other related subjects of science. In this work, the existence and uniqueness of the solution of above-mentioned equations are investigated. By this way, the domain has been defined in which the solution of these problems is equivalent. All proposed four problems can be solved using one and the same methods. Indoor energy consumption can be understood by breaking overall power consumption down into individual components and appliance activations. The classification of components of energy usage is known as load disaggregation or appliance recognition. Most of the previous efforts address the separation of devices with high energy demands. In many contexts though, such as an office, the devices to separate are numerous, heterogeneous, and have low consumptions. The disaggregation problem becomes then more challenging and, at the same time, crucial for understanding the user context. In fact, from the disaggregation one can deduce the number of people in an office room, their activities, and current energy needs. In this paper, we review the characteristics of office appliances load disaggregation efforts. We then illustrate a proposal for a classification model based on Recurrent Neural Network (RNN). RNN is used to infer device activation from aggregated energy consumptions. The approach shows promising results in recognizing 14 classes of 5 different devices being operated in our office, reaching 99.4% of Cohen's Kappa measure. © 2018 The authors and IOS Press. In recent years, Raft has overtaken Paxos as the consensus algorithm of choice. [53] While many have pointed out similarities between the two protocols, no one has formally mapped out their relationships. In this paper, we show how Raft and Paxos are formally related despite their surface differences. Based on the formal mapping between the two protocols, we show how to automatically port a certain class of optimizations from Paxos to Raft with guaranteed correctness. As case studies, we port and evaluate two optimizations, Mencius and Paxos Quorum Lease to Raft. Copyright © 2019, The Authors. All rights reserved.
