The paper deals with abandoned former industrial buildings problem and buildings’ redevelopment possibilities with emphasis on sustainable development. A complex decision-making model for redevelopment of abandoned buildings, combining Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Multiple Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) techniques, is proposed. A case study of a former measurement equipment factory is presented. Ranking of possible redevelopment alternatives of the building using Weighted Aggregated Sum Product Assessment method with grey attributes scores (WASPAS-G) is proposed and the most rational projects are selected. While BIM techniques supports an effective selection process and allows implementation of full lifetime management strategy of a project and then of a real object.

Based on helical anchoring technology, spinning anchor bolts are a new type of recyclable full-feature bolts. They have continuous thin helical burr distributed on the bolt structure, and the anchoring force is supplied mainly by friction between the helical burr etched into the rock and the rock itself. A theoretical model for the load transfer mechanism of a spinning anchor bolt is established. At the same time, the force on the bolt at the helical section is simulated numerically with the FLAC3D software, and the force-damage characteristics of the whole anchoring system are analyzed. Finally, the theoretical model and the numerical simulations are validated by comparisons with data from field measurements. This provides a theoretical basis for the practical design of spinning anchor bolts.

The research development of rockfill materials (RFM) was investigated by a series of large-scale triaxial tests. It is observed that confining pressure and particle breakage play important roles in the mechanical property, dilatancy relation and constitutive model of RFM. In addition, it is observed that the conven- tional dilatancy relation and constitutive model are not suitable for RFM due to the complex mechanical behavior. Hence, it needs to propose a unified constitutive model of RFM, considering the statedependent and particle breakage behavior.

Sports fields can be considered as a type of sport facilities that must be built in the course of a construction project. The paper presents some results of a broader research on the problem of cost predicting for such objects supported by various mathematical tools. The Kohonen’s neural networks (also known as self-organizing map or self-organizing feature maps) are explored for the purpose of clustering data including characteristic parameters of sports fields built in Poland. Kohonen’s neural networks were applied to perform the transformation of n-dimensional input data space into a two dimensional in a map. In the course of the research, the data including characteristic parameters of sports fields was presented to the number of networks that varied in the configuration of an output layer. The two dimensional topologically ordered feature map of data clusters that describe groups of similar sports fields is proposed as a result of the analysis.

In modern conditions, ehe necessity to integrate the complex of managerial, technological and climatic factors in choosing solutions at all stages of the planning and management of construction production requires a re-evaluation of the existing approaches to reconstruction process. In this article the author considered the question of estimating the importance of factors influence on the total duration of the reconstruction of energy facilities. The purpose and objectives of the study were formed, based on the analysis of codes and standards in the construction sphere, as well as data about the objects of reconstruction. The studies of national and foreign scientists and specialists of the construction sphere, process simulation program and programs of federal and regional energy development were used for the methodological basis of the research. The study provides a multifactor analysis of the impact of labor efficiency depending on the work type on the duration of the reconstruction of objects. The quality of the model was checked with three formal criteria. The conclusions and results of the study allow us to conclude about the importance of certain factors in the total model and build the most qualitative model.

The construction industry is one of the most accident-prone sectors of the Polish economy. There are many causes of accidents and they result from the factors that occur in the working environment. These factors, in favourable circumstances, can significantly increase the probability of a hazard becoming operational and leading to an occupational accident. The article presents the most important factors affecting the development of accidents in the construction industry, which were identified on the basis of surveys. These factors are divided into three groups due to their location in the construction work environment and its surroundings. Mutual relations between the identified factors are graphically presented in the form of the cause and effect diagram of Ishikawa. The relation between the value of construction and assembly production and the accident rate in the construction industry was calculated using the correlation coefficient.

Refurbishment of the building façades of residential buildings, including insulation, is often considered as the most energy efficient renovation measure with the largest potential. One of the solutions to increase energy efficiency is the selection of the appropriate insulation materials of the external walls. The article proposes the approach for selection of the insulation material based on SAW multiple criteria assessment method. The proposed methodology is applied for the case of insulation material selection in refurbishment of 12-storey building in Vilnius, Lithuania. Research reveals that rock wool outperforms other materials by thermal conductivity, light weigh, water vapour diffusion resistance, highest flammability class, durability and lowest emission of CO2 and is an efficient insulation to be used for sustainable refurbishment solutions.

Due to the energy crisis in Ukraine, the problem of significant increase in the efficiency of production, transportation and use of energy is of particular importance. Considering the significant role in energy supply of the country, the issues of efficient use of heat energy in all areas of these systems are solved: generation for heating water or for steam generation; transportation to the consumer, as well as when using it by the consumer. On the heat exchange surfaces of the systems, scale occurs, which leads to deterioration of heat and mass transfer processes and heat energy indices [6]. This affects the overall performance of the process. In this paper, the question of determining the parameters of an electromagnetic field in the process of treatment of pure water is solved and physical models of the change of the structure of pure water after treatment in the electromagnetic field and the change in the nature of its interaction with different surfaces are developed. To improve the efficiency of the system perform preliminary cleaning and softening water before feeding it to the heat pump by the method of processing it in fields of constant current and in the field of permanent magnets. Next, filtration and water treatment in the field of electromagnets with certain parameters of high frequency of electric current and field induction are carried out. The scientific principles of changes in structural and thermophysical properties of water, ecological and technical technologies, which include the implementation of its basic principles, in which environmental and anthropogenic factors perform a functionally unifying role, are developed.

The study contributes to main conditions for ensuring the quality of construction production processes and products. The object of study is a maximum possible level of compliance of a human operator and the mobile environment of a technical vehicle cabin. The functional operator's condition is evaluated in accordance with his personal adaptive physiological and psychological norm. The mobile environment of the technical vehicle cabin is evaluated by the parameters specified in the Directive official regulations. The task of the study was to develop a method of the real functional operator's condition assessing in the course of his work in the mobile environment of the cabin of a vehicle. The method used in the study was a composite infographic parameter modeling of the 'man - technics - environment' system. Infographic modeling as a promising tool for research and comprehensive assessment of the mobile environment influence on the functional operator's condition. The conclusions of the study have shown that the 'star' multilayer infographic model gives good results in the complex evaluation of the functional state of the operator. As a tool for the development and application of such models, it is advisable to use the language R. The study has shown that the interaction of a human and the vehicle cabin mobile environment during construction works is ought to be considered not only as a socio-technical, but also as a cyber-physical system.
