Lock-unlock landslides have thick sliding zones that store a lot of *** makes them start quickly,happen suddenly,and have serious ***,it becomes urgent to study the deformation and failure mechanisms of such landslides and develop rational predictive *** the Jiuxianping landslide as an example,this study investigates the regularity of landslide displacement changes using multi-source data,focusing on the abrupt displacement patterns in the unlock ***,employing Transient Release and Inhalation Method tests combined with Geo-Studio’s SEEP/W and SIGMA/W modules for fluid-solid coupled simulation calculations,the evolution process of landslide failure mechanisms and deformation characteristics is analyzed and ***,utilizing data mining analysis of multi-source data,a hybrid optimized machine learning predictive model is established for model prediction *** study reveals that:(1)The rise in infiltration line elevates pore water pressure,affecting the stability of the sliding zone,leading to“unlock effects”and step-like displacement deformation;(2)Simulation shows that YY208 is closer to the actual situation,located at the far bank position,while YY210 is greatly influenced by the“buoyancy effect”,resulting in a slowdown in deformation velocity;(3)After data preprocessing,overall actual displacement prediction performs better than simulation displacement prediction in terms of Mean Absolute Error,Mean Squared Error and Correlation Coefficient,but noise reduction processing can improve the periodic prediction effect of simulation displacement.

Impact of drivers'attributes on children injury severities in traffic crashes

Every year,a substantial number of children sustain injuries and fatalities in motor vehicle crashes in *** the factors contributing to child injury is crucial for the development of appropriate mitigation measures that aid in alleviating the severity of such *** this study,a hierarchical Bayesian binary logit regression model was developed to investigate the factors that contribute to children’s injuries resulting from crashes while accounting for possible intra-class correlation effects(those of unobserved factors common to children involved in the same crash).A strong correlation among crashes justified the use of the hierarchical Bayesian logit *** per the modeling results,the children’s ages,safety restraint types,vehicle types,drivers’ages,alcohol/drug involvement,drivers’seat belt use habits,drivers’actions,manners of collision and environmental conditions contributed to child injury *** child’s age was found to be inversely related to the risk of ***,among safety restraint types,rear-facing car seats and forward-facing car seats were found to reduce injury likelihoods in *** it comes to the drivers’characteristics,the probability of incurring injuries among the child population increased in the presence of young,unbuckled and impaired ***,improper driving actions,such as running off the road,raised the risk of incurring injuries to *** findings of this study may be beneficial to authorities regarding developing and implementing road safety programs aimed at ameliorating child injury concerns.

Preparation of Salt-Storage Aggregate using Magnesium Oxychloride Cement and Investigation on Salt-Release Performance

To investigate the salt-release performance of salt-storage aggregates, salt-storage aggregates were prepared using magnesium oxychloride cement as a carrier through the addition of chloride salts and sustained-release agents. The different types of salt-storage aggregates were compared and selected through compressive strength and immersion conductivity tests. In addition, the salt-release performance of salt-storage asphalt mixtures was investigated by immersion conductivity tests and simulated rain erosion tests. The results indicate that as a sustained-release agent, polyethylene glycol has a certain adverse effect on the compressive strength of salt-storage aggregates, whereas glycerol has an enhancing influence during 28 days of standard curing conditions. The salt-storage aggregates with sustained-release agents show a good sustained-release effect and a relatively stable conductivity growth. Compared with polyethylene glycol, glycerol attains a better sustained-release effect on salt-storage aggregates with CaCl2 as a snow-melting agent. Under short-term immersion conditions, the conductivity of salt-storage asphalt mixture specimens increases rapidly with prolonged immersion. Under long-term immersion conditions, the conductivity changes under different replacement rates show two stages, namely, the early stage featuring a rapid increase and the later stage showing a gradual trend. The salt-dissolved regularity of salt-storage asphalt mixture conforms to the logarithmic model. After 5 years of equivalent rainwater erosion, the salt-storage asphalt mixture can still release salt. The study provides a good reference for the production and application of salt-storage aggregate in road maintenance. © 2024 School of Science, IHU. All rights reserved.

The stable protection of the walls of high-temperature geothermal wells is a challenging issue for sustainably exploiting geothermal ***,the cement stone filling layer of the cemented portion of the well deteriorates gradually during geothermal mining due to the dry-wet cycles of the saline geothermal water,reducing the service life of the geothermal *** this,this paper presented five groups of cement stone cylinders with salt contents of 0%,1%,6%,and 11%,which were subjected to heating to 300C and 1e5 dry-wet *** magnetic resonance(NMR)and nonmetallic detection were used to test and analyze the porosity and wave ***,the damage evolution induced by dry-wet cycles was captured based on acoustic emission(AE)*** experimental results indicated that the heating process primarily resulted in mineral and salt crystal expansion,which in turn caused *** damage threshold due to the salt content was found to be 6%.The sudden increase in the thermal stress caused by cooling and deterioration of the tensile strength of the cement column were the key factors in the damage during the cooling *** the number of cycles increased,the accumulated AE energy moved forward and backward,with decreasing and increasing temperature,*** threshold of signal mutation in the heating process is 200C,and the accumulated AE energy decreases by 11.7%.When the salt content was 0%,1%,6%and 11%,the wave velocity decreased by 19%,27.3%,35.5%and 35.9%,*** study also proposed a damage model,which could provide theoretical support for long-term health monitoring and safety protection of geothermal wells.

The process of new construction and reconstruction projects in the petrochemical industry is complicated, and the construction accidents have a domino effect. construction permit-to-work management is an important part of petrochemical engineering, mainly to ensure the identity of workers entering the construction area and permit-to-work qualification. The previous research on permit-to-work management mainly focused on the standardization of the permit-to-work issuing process and the precision of the implementation process rather than specific and implementable technological means. However, with the increase of new construction and reconstruction projects in the petrochemical industry, the traditional and paper-based work permit management model cannot effectively prevent people without working qualifications from entering the construction site at the source, and these solutions do not take into account the compliance, feasibility, and timeliness of the use of qualified permit-to-work. Therefore, from the perspective of brand-new management theory, this study organizes the elements of petrochemical construction permit-to-work management into three levels of product, organization, and process (POP). Then the permit-to-work management system of petrochemical construction based on the POP model is proposed. The face recognition technology is used to realize the real-time dynamic control of the system. The results show that the validity of the petrochemical construction permit-to-work management system based on the POP model in the actual project can realize the transformation permit-to-work from paper to electronic. In addition, it can effectively and quickly verify the permit-to-work qualification of the entry personnel and prevent the retired personnel from returning to the site.

The energy consumption of large airport terminal buildings is twice or even higher than that of general large public buildings. The energy consumption prediction can obtain the energy operation law of the building in advance. Furthermore, the unreasonable behavior of using energy of buildings can be interfered in advance to save energy. This study takes a large airport terminal in Beijing (China) as the object. According to the power consumption characteristics of its main electrical equipment system, combined with Pearson correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis and neural network methods, the influence of passenger number and outdoor meteorological parameters on the power consumption and their correlation characteristics are studied. The results show that: (1) The number of passengers and outdoor temperature are the key factors affecting the power consumption characteristics of airport terminals;(2) Compared with the regression analysis model and the BP-GA neural network model, the prediction accuracy of LSTM neural network model is higher. Its RMSE is 1917.0072, MAPE is 0.49 %, R2 is 0.99;(3) LSTM neural network model is more suitable for the learning and training of the power consumption law of airport terminals. © 2024 18th Conference of the International Society of Indoor Air Quality and Climate, INDOOR AIR 2024 - Conference Program and Proceedings. This paper complements the breakthrough study by Aumann and Maschler on resolution of the conundrum from the Tractate of Kethuboth. The conundrum deals with the bankruptcy problem of the resources' allocation to the creditors when claims exceed the estate. The Mishnah and Talmud deal with three cases. Two of which did not raise questions, but the third case has perplexed Talmudic commentators over centuries. Aumann and Maschler provided the game theoretic framework for resolution of the asset distribution along with providing a rule, which leads to the numbers listed in the Mishnah. The paper series of Aumann and Maschler show the validity of Rabbi Nathan's argument who provided the ruling about the distribution. This study summarizes findings of previous studies on this subject and based on Kaminski's hydraulic rationing methodology - presents a closed-form solution for the resolution of the Talmudic conundrum, which also applies to an arbitrary number of creditors. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2023.

The paper investigates the 7-day, 28-day and 56-day compressive & splitting tensile strength of thirty geopolymer concrete specimens using the dry mixing method. The cementitious material content, sand ratio, along with the water binder ratio were chosen as the variables. Influences of the parameters on the mechanical behavior of the dry mixing geopolymer concrete are discussed in the paper. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The cone penetration test(CPT)contributes to the design and analysis of piles regarding geometry,installation effect,and pile capacity(shaft and toe resistance).MiniCone,as an alternative to CPT sounding,has been used to carry outﬁeld and laboratory investigations by physical *** tests can be practically carried out through light equipment and small soil mass,involving fewer errors caused by boundary ***,it can be used for in situ testing,such as quality control,assessment of ground improvement,and subgrade characterization.A database comprising MiniCone and CPT records inﬁeld and physical modeling is proposed with a variety of cone *** case study records in the database have been obtained from 140 tests compiled from data from 26 *** sources include the results of 20 physical modelings andﬁeld data from six sites in 10 *** data comprise MiniCone and CPT cone tip resistance(qc),and sleeve friction(fs).The different cones are used in sandy,silty sand,and clayey soils via simple chambers(1 g),calibration chambers,and frustum conﬁning *** addition,correlations were found in penetration records in terms of physical modeling types,cone diameters,penetration rates,and soil ***,qc and fs are related to capacities of pile toes and shafts using proper correlation coefﬁcients less than unity,*** and dominant factors in geotechnical practice between MiniCone,CPT,and pile have been reviewed and discussed.
