Mixed microalgae-food waste cake for feeding of Hermetia illucens larvae in characterizing the produced biodiesel

The industrial use of insects, their products, interactions, or activities has been known as industrial entomology. The current study focused on evaluating the effect of mixing the organic food waste with its half percentage of microalgae on the biodiesel production and characterization. The black soldier fly larvae (BSFL) were reared on the organic waste (OW) (fruits, vegetables, and kitchen) only and OW mixed with microalgae, Chlorella vulgaris. Additionally, the levels of oxidants and antioxidants in the biodiesel, after the antioxidants incorporation (ascorbic acid, alpha-tocopherol, and catechin), were evaluated. The BSFLBD was produced from lipid extraction of BSFL biomass by chloroform/methanol mixture, followed by acid catalyzed esterification and alkaline catalyzed transesterification. The biodiesel yield from the larvae fed on mixed OW-microalgae for 14 days was enhanced by 1.4 folds than the yield of OW group. The unsaturated oleic acid has the most dominant pattern in the fatty acid profile of BSFBD, even in different cases. Lauric (12:0) and myristic (14:0) acids constitute the majority of the methyl ester component of the biodiesel, with amounts of 25.6 and 7.1 for larvae fed on OW, and 25.9 and 7.7 for those fed on OW-microalgae. Following the antioxidants addition, the oxidant's concentration decreased in the biodiesel especially in the insects fed on mixed OW-microalgae. The microalgae added to the organic food waste enhanced the biodiesel quality and quantity of BSFL biomass. Also, the introduction of antioxidants didn't only improve the efficiency of the biodiesel, but also helped in the management of the stress parameters.

In this paper, we study some generalized contraction conditions for three self-mappings on generalized b-metric spaces to prove the existence of some unique common fixed-point results. To unify our results, we establish a supportive example for three self-mappings to show the uniqueness of a common fixed point for a generalized contraction in the said space. In addition, we present a supportive application of nonlinear integral equations for the validation of our work. The concept presented in this paper will play an important role in the theory of fixed points in the context of generalized metric spaces with applications.

This paper proposes a Hardware-in-the-Loop simulation (HiLs) tested via square Helmholtz coils as a relative magnetic field generator. In technical terms, the HiLs is an indispensable tool for engineering design during rapid proto-typing of attitude determination and control algorithms for the turning parameters that control the attitude of the satellite, since most of the satellite's mission relies on its attitude, making this system one of the most essential to the satellite's operation. Moreover, performing controlled experiments with the parameters for developing adaptive control algorithms improves the overall efficiency of the satellite's kinematic system. The conceptual design of a proposed system architecture can be composed of the electrical currents of 2.4-meter square Helmholtz coils produced by a low-level microcontroller equipped with a DC-motor driver by a pulse-width modulation (PWM) signal through real-time connection to an orbit propagator using a high-level computer. This research focuses on the attitude dynamic of satellites through the interaction between the Earth's magnetic field (EMF) and the magnetotorque in the satellite. To apply this phenomenon, the intensity and the direction of the magnetic field must be identified through Biot-Savart's law. Along with the EMF, the reference position is calculated using the standard general perturbations satellite orbit model (SGP4), and the intensity is modeled based on coefficients from the 13th edition of the International Geomagnetic Reference Field (IGRF). Therefore, this paper presents a detailed development of a HiLs testbed for distributed attitude determination and control systems (hardware and software co-design, protocol, and control theory). Background and Objective. Humans communicate with one another using language systems such as written words or body language (movements), hand motions, head gestures, facial expressions, lip motion, and many more. Comprehending sign language is just as crucial as learning a natural language. Sign language is the primary mode of communication for those who have a deaf or mute impairment or are disabled. Without a translator, people with auditory difficulties have difficulty speaking with other individuals. Studies in automatic recognition of sign language identification utilizing machine learning techniques have recently shown exceptional success and made significant progress. The primary objective of this research is to conduct a literature review on all the work completed on the recognition of Urdu Sign Language through machine learning classifiers to date. Materials and methods. All the studies have been extracted from databases, i.e., PubMed, IEEE, Science Direct, and Google Scholar, using a structured set of keywords. Each study has gone through proper screening criteria, i.e., exclusion and inclusion criteria. PRISMA guidelines have been followed and implemented adequately throughout this literature review. Results. This literature review comprised 20 research articles that fulfilled the eligibility requirements. Only those articles were chosen for additional full-text screening that follows eligibility requirements for peer-reviewed and research articles and studies issued in credible journals and conference proceedings until July 2021. After other screenings, only studies based on Urdu Sign language were included. The results of this screening are divided into two parts;(1) a summary of all the datasets available on Urdu Sign Language. The objective of this research is to create and conceptualize an integrative approach based on project management philosophies, systems, technologies, and tools. Some of the major issues that construction companies face with projects are finding design and construction mistakes before implementation;understanding details, processes, change orders, and requests for information;and lack of collaboration among project stakeholders. This paper aims to address these gaps, using a project delivery method that incorporates early stakeholder engagement. It is organized as follows: first, to define the status of this research area, the paper provides a concise review of the most recent papers about BIM, Lean, MR, BIM-Lean, and BIM-MR technologies that have appeared in peer-reviewed journals and international conference proceedings. Second, to guide the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry, the paper presents a BIM/MR-Lean-based project delivery management model that is based on flowchart and integrated definition function modeling (IDEF0) language. Finally, the paper highlights the advantages and challenges of the system under discussion. This paper provides a roadmap for future efforts toward implementing a BIM/MR-Lean-based management system in all stages of the construction industry. Such a management system provides significant opportunities to improve the quality of planning, understanding, and also performance of construction projects.

project information management in architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) projects can be a challenging endeavor due to the complex nature of projects and the numerous sources and types of information required, including drawings, plans, specifications, and building information modeling (BIM), among others. AEC projects require stakeholders to develop temporary teams, develop work processes, and collaborate across organizational boundaries. Additionally, the numerous technologies used in information management, such as project management software, scheduling software, and BIM, require contractual agreements among project stakeholders to address these technologies' potential risks while still allowing stakeholder collaboration to benefit project execution and delivery. Contracts are used to define project requirements and can be used to define different aspects of project information management, like required deliverables or stakeholder roles and responsibilities. While recent research has evaluated the relationship between BIM and contracts, there is a gap in understanding the relationship between contracts and information management more holistically. The objectives of this research were to gain insight into how contracts impact information management, identify barriers that exist in contracts related to information management, and to develop potential contract-related strategies to improve information management on AEC projects. Researchers implemented a qualitative analysis approach through semistructured interviews with 38 AEC professionals and the application of a systematic and iterative qualitative coding process. This research found that contracts can be used as a tool to influence the development and execution of project information management strategies. Seagrasses have been entwined with human culture for millennia, constituting a natural resource that has supported humanity throughout this history. Understanding the societal value of seagrass fosters appreciation of these ecosystems, encouraging conservation and restoration actions to counteract historic and predicted losses. This study overviews the plethora of seagrass use in human history, ranging from spiritual and ceremonial roles, direct and indirect food resources, medicines and raw materials, dating back more than 180 000 years. While many past uses have been abandoned in modern societies, others have persisted or are being rediscovered, and new applications are emerging. As these uses of seagrasses depend on harvesting, we also underscore the need for sustainable practices to (re)generate positive interactions between seagrasses and society. Our review contributes to revalue seagrass societal ecosystem services, highlighting ancient and more recent human and seagrass relationships to incentivize conservation and restoration actions.

Humans and other primates harbour complex gut bacterial communities that influence health and disease, but the evolutionary histories of these symbioses remain unclear. This is partly due to limited information about the microbiota of ancestral primates. Here, using phylogenetic analyses of metagenome-assembled genomes (MAGs), we show that hundreds of gut bacterial clades diversified in parallel (that is, co-diversified) with primate species over millions of years, but that humans have experienced widespread losses of these ancestral symbionts. Analyses of 9,460 human and non-human primate MAGs, including newly generated MAGs from chimpanzees and bonobos, revealed significant co-diversification within ten gut bacterial phyla, including Firmicutes, Actinobacteriota and Bacteroidota. Strikingly, similar to 44% of the co-diversifying clades detected in African apes were absent from available metagenomic data from humans and similar to 54% were absent from industrialized human populations. In contrast, only similar to 3% of non-co-diversifying clades detected in African apes were absent from humans. Co-diversifying clades present in both humans and chimpanzees displayed consistent genomic signatures of natural selection between the two host species but differed in functional content from co-diversifying clades lost from humans, consistent with selection against certain functions. This study discovers host-species-specific bacterial symbionts that predate hominid diversification, many of which have undergone accelerated extinctions from human populations.

Prevalence of tuberculosis among mentally ill patients in conflict-stricken Afghanistan: A cross-sectional study

Objectives: Tuberculosis (TB) and mental illness share underlying factors such as poverty, malnutrition, and stress. This study's objective was to determine the prevalence of TB among mentally ill patients in Afghanistan. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in five public and one private health facility. All patients in those centers were screened for TB, and the diagnosis of TB was made with GeneXpert or made clinically by a physician. Results: Out of 8598 patients registered, 8324 (96.8%) were reached and 8073 (93.9%) were screened for TB, of whom 1703 (21.1%) were found to be presumptive TB patients. A total of 275 (16.7%) were diagnosed with all forms of TB, of whom 90.5% were women. Eighty-eight (32%) of them were bacteriologically confirmed and 187 (68%) were clinically diagnosed. The number needed to screen (NNS) was 29.3 and the number needed to test (NNT) was 6.1. The overall prevalence of TB among mentally ill patients was 3,567/100,000-20 times higher than the national incidence rate. TB was independently associated with married and widowed adults, young adults, females, and oral sleep drug users. Conclusions: TB among mentally ill patients is very high, and we recommend that TB care and prevention services be integrated into mental health centers. (C) 2019 The Authors. Investigating the Causes of Missing Field Detected Issues from BIM-Based Construction Coordination through Semistructured Interviews

Although the use of building information modeling (BIM) and automatic clash detection has improved the construction coordination process in construction projects, the industry still suffers from on-site fixes of issues, which can cause construction delays and cost over-runs. Several research studies have investigated the causes of constructability issues or rework but have not focused on how the issues are missed at the construction coordination stage, which is a mitigation strategy that can minimize field detected issues. This research, via expert interviews and utilizing the grounded theory approach, determined the underlying causes of not capturing field-detected issues during the BIM-based construction coordination process. Missing model elements, not considering operability or maintainability, and inaccurate as-built model updates were the most common causes. The research findings can benefit industry practitioners by providing the causes and preventive measures that can enhance the ability to capture issues before they occur in the field. Moreover, this research also provides future researchers with the critical causes that need to be tackled to improve BIM-based construction coordination.
