With the recent surge in interest surrounding the metaverse environment, the significance of effective copyright license management has grown considerably. While systematic copyright management is crucial, the limitations of existing copyright identification systems pose challenges to maintaining proper control. To address these issues, this paper proposes an integrated model combining Unique Content Identifier (UCI) and Extended Integrated Copyright Number (EICN) to develop a robust copyright identification system that safeguards the rights of copyright holders. © 2023 IEEE.

The coronavirus pandemic, which first began in December 2019, has completely changed our daily lives. In particular, daily online digital content consumption over the world has soared since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. For preventing illegal digital content distribution, various technologies have been applied, but current copyright protection technologies are still lacking to provide secure digital content distribution while preserving privacy. In this article, we introduce a new digital content distribution system, which utilizes blockchain-based decentralized identifier and format-preserving encryption to enable user privacy preserved digital content tracking. We present the system architecture with detailed message flows of the proposal and provide its analysis result in terms of security and overhead. © 2022 John Wiley & Sons Ltd.

In this paper, we address the growing challenges arising from the rapid expansion of the global digital content market, fueled by COVID-19-induced digital transformation and increased reliance on online streaming services. While this trend has many positive implications, it has also led to persistent concerns surrounding copyright infringement and unfair distribution of copyright fees, negatively impacting copyright holders. To tackle these issues, we propose a new copyright distribution management system utilizing holographic multi-channel QR codes, which aims to safeguard the rights of copyright holders and ensure a fair distribution of royalties. © 2023 IEEE.

The Data Act’s ‘Mandatory Smart Contract Kill Switch’, officially enforced by the EU fromJanuary 11, 2024, is sparking significant debate across Europe and within the cryptocurrency community. The primaryconcern is that this mandate could potentially render existing deployed smart contracts illegal and undermine the decentralization and immutability that are fundamental to DeFi. Analysis so far indicates that the biggest issue isthe lack of clear guidelines and scope regarding the implementation of the smart contract kill switch in the DataAct. In response, this paper proposes a private blockchain-based software transaction system to address the persistentissues in the software transaction process. The proposed system aims to construct a reliable software transaction environment by presenting methods and measures for applying smart contract kill switch that can address security incidents and license violations. This is achieved through the distribution of profits based on developer contributions, calculated using blockchain technology and peer evaluation, ensuring transparency, fairness, and decentralization.

After Release 15, the first standard related to 5G mobile communication, was completed in 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) in 2018, 5G mobile communication services began to be commercialized worldwide. Since then, research/development has been underway around the world to satisfy the requirements of 5G: ultra-high speed, ultra-low latency, and ultra-connectivity. In this regard, what has recently become a hot topic is technology related to 5G-Advanced mobile communication, a transitional technology between 5G and 6G, which has been attracting worldwide attention since 3GPP promoted Release 18 standardization in 2022. In 5G-Advanced, research is being conducted to create efficient mobile communication services by developing Multi-Access Edge Computing (MEC) technology, network slicing technology, and O-RAN technology, as well as efforts to internalize security. Despite these efforts, security threats targeting containers continue to occur, and the resulting damage continues to increase. Accordingly, in this paper, we show that a safe container environment can be created by diagnosing the vulnerabilities of Docker images based on Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) and proposing a system that can respond to vulnerable Docker images. © 2023 Copyright held by the owner/author(s). As the demand and diversity of digital content continue to grow, so does its accessibility and utilization. With this shift, Over-The-Top (OTT) services have emerged, allowing users to conveniently access various digital content. However, due to the ongoing issues of illegal copying and distribution of digital content, this paper proposes a framework for managing copyrights in OTT services by using Open Digital Rights Language (ODRL) within the Hyperledger Fabric environment. This system utilizes ODRL and chaincode to automatically verify usage rights of digital content, ensuring that digital content provided aligns with these rights. Moreover, the system aims to construct an OTT service that ensures the rights of copyright holders by allowing transparent verification of copyright royalties settled and distributed based on ODRL. © 2023 Copyright held by the owner/author(s). Modern developers typically run their workloads through cloud-native environments such as Docker and Kubernetes. Docker is a platform that runs and manages containers. With the birth of Docker, interest in containers and technology has grown. As one of the container orchestration tools that control and manage containers running on multiple hosts, Kubernetes has a very large share and is used by many cloud companies, making it the standard for practical container orchestration tools. Therefore, in this paper, by analyzing the Kubernetes event timeline, we present the future direction of Kubernetes and Docker, which are key tools in the cloud-native environment.

Recently, the manufacturing industry is changing into a smart manufacturing era with the development of 5G, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing technologies. As a result, Operational Technology (OT), which controls and operates factories, has been digitized and used together with Information Technology (IT). Security is indispensable in the smart manu-facturing industry as a problem with equipment, facilities, and operations in charge of manufacturing can cause factory shutdown or damage. In particular, security is required in smart factories because they implement automation in the manufacturing industry by monitoring the surrounding environment and collecting meaningful information through Industrial IoT (IIoT). Therefore, in this paper, IIoT security proposed in 2022 and recent technology trends are analyzed and explained in order to understand the current status of IIoT security technology in a smart factory environment.
