Aiming at the problem of signal reconstruction with unknown sparsity in compressed sensing, an improved iterative greedy algorithm is proposed to signal reconstruction from low sampling rate. Firstly, a sparsity estimation strategy is used to estimate the sparsity and the true support set of target signal, and then the residual is initialized with the estimated value. In order to optimize the estimated value, it is necessary to determine the direction of the iteration before the iteration begins. The proposed algorithm is associated with the ideas of adaptive, backtracking and greedy choice to iteratively refine. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm performs better than that of OMP, CoSaMP and SAMP algorithms for both one-dimensional signal and two-dimensional image signal, and the algorithm has better practical application value.

A kind of haze removal algorithm is proposed, so as to improve the visibility of degraded image with only single image. Firstly, the raw atmospheric transmission map is obtained using the dark channel prior. Then, Fields of Experts model with guided filtering is integrated to get the priors from the degraded image, so as to amend the raw atmosphere transmission map. Finally, the scene albedo is restored based on the atmosphere scattering model. Results on a variety of outdoor haze images show the feasibility and validity of our algorithm. Moreover, a comparative study is also proposed with several other state-of-the-art algorithms demonstrate that our algorithm has similar or even better haze removal results.

We present a novel constraint on light dark matter utilizing 1.54 metric ton/year of data acquired from the PandaX-4T dual-phase xenon time projection chamber. This constraint is derived through detecting electronic recoil signals resulting from the interaction with solar-enhanced dark matter flux. Low-mass dark matter particles, lighter than a few MeV/c2, can scatter with the thermal electrons in the Sun. Consequently, with higher kinetic energy, the boosted dark matter component becomes detectable via contact scattering with xenon electrons, resulting in a few keV energy deposition that exceeds the threshold of PandaX-4T. We calculate the expected recoil energy in PandaX-4T considering the Sun’s acceleration with heavy mediators and the detection capabilities of the xenon detector. The first experimental search results using the xenon detector yield the most stringent upper limits cross section of 3.51×10−39 cm2 at 0.08 MeV/c2 for a solar boosted dark matter mass ranging from 0.02 to 10 MeV/c2, achieving a 23-fold improvement compared with earlier experimental studies.

To overcome image degradation under the conditions of haze,and fog,a method using conditional generative adversarial defogging algorithm based on polarization characteristic is *** original images with different polarization angles were obtained from the original image,and then the polarization images were characterized using Stokes *** the relationship between Stokes vector and polarization image,each polarization image with different angles is input into the same network to extract *** the same time,the enhanced network is used to extract the characteristics of the fog area in the polarization image,and the polarization information is extracted by layer jump connection,which is fused with the image features of different *** constructing the loss function and obtaining the optimal solution,the fog-free image is finally *** results show that a clear image can be reconstructed in fog situations by using conditional generative adversarial network-based on polarization characteristics,and the structural similarity is improved by about 10%,the peak signal to noise ratio is increased by about 0.5.

Polynucleotide kinase (PNK) plays a crucial role in maintaining the genomic stability of cells and is becoming a potential target in the radio-therapeutic treatment of cancers. The fluorescent method is usually used to measure the PNK activity, but it is impossible to obtain the real-time monitoring without the employment of the labeled DNA probes. Here, we report a label-free bioluminescent sensor for PNK activity assay through real-time monitoring of the phosphorylation-dependent DNA ligation reaction. In this bioluminescent sensor, two hairpin DNA probes with 5′-protruding terminal are designed as the phosphate acceptor, and the widely used phosphate donor of ATP is substituted by dCTP. In the absence of PNK, the ligation reaction cannot be triggered due to the lack of 5′-phosphoryl groups in the probes, and the background signal is negligible. With the addition of PNK, the phosphorylation-ligation reaction of the probes is initiated with the release of AMP, and the subsequent conversion of AMP to ATP leads to the generation of distinct bioluminescence signal. The PNK activity assay can be performed in real time by continuously monitoring the bioluminescence signal. This bioluminescent sensor is much simpler, label-free, cost-effective, and free from the autofluorescence interference of biological matrix, and can be further used for quantitative, kinetic, and inhibition assay. © 2014 American Chemical Society.

Since the low resolution of infrared focal plane arrays may degrade the performance of polarization imaging significantly, it is necessary to study the super-resolution reconstruction method for superior image resolution and contrast. Four typical single-frame image reconstruction methods are studied in this paper, and the comparison of reconstruction result of these methods is conducted by using subjective and objective evaluation. The experiments show that the reconstruction method based on generative adversarial network performs poorly in the evaluation indexes such as peak signal-to-noise ratio and structural similarity, but its reconstructed image has good visual effects, rich texture and details, and has a strong ability to suppress background noise, and using the reconstructed images for polarization information parsing can significantly improve the accuracy of polarization information parsing and the effect of polarization image fusion. © 2022 SPIE

Multi-modal Understanding and Generation for Object Tracking

Vision-Language Tracking (VLT) aims to predict the target state in video sequences using two types of heterogeneous information: 1) the static text description detailing main characteristics of the tracked object, and 2) the dynamic image patches containing the target and its surroundings. However, as the tracking proceeds, inconsistencies may arise between the linguistic information embedded in the text description and the visual representations stored in the search images. In such cases, the direct fusion of vision and language could result in conflicts. To tackle this issue, we propose MugTracker, which integrates image-to-text generation into the VLT framework and attempts a generative updating way to mitigate the effects of inconsistencies. Specifically, we design two branch tasks: multi-modal understanding for reasoning and multi-modal generation for updating. We develop a dynamic text generator based on the hybrid architecture of the pre-trained foundation model BLIP and adaptively update the text reference as the context varies for more accurate target modeling. The semantically consistent visual and linguistic representations are then aligned and associated by the reasoning branch built on the BLIP dual-encoder to infer the target state. To better transfer the foundation model to build a strong tracker, we introduce the proposed TE-Adapter in the visual components for target enhancement and Text-Adapter in the linguistic components to strengthen the learning of discriminative semantics. Our MugTracker has been extensively evaluated on three datasets, and the superior performance compared to the state-of-the-arts demonstrates its effectiveness. © 1991-2012 IEEE.

Due to the lack of object semantic information, existing salient region detection models using visual stimulus cues and prior knowledge are diffcult to detect some complicated salient regions with heterogeneity, low contrast or large scale. We construct a semantic salient region detection network using the fully convolutional structure in this letter. After training effectively, the proposed network can effectively extract the semantic salient regions. Aiming to the defect of inaccurate boundary of the detected semantic salient regions, we further introduce the superpixel segmentation and color appearance model to generate the superpixel-level foreground ***, we propose a new optimization model to fuse the foreground and background probability information and semantic information to derive more accurate salient region map. The experiments comparing with 11 state-of-the-art models demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed model.

In view of the problem of attenuation or polarization state change caused by atmospheric radiation transmission in the long-distance path transmission of target polarization information, the atmospheric polarization characteristics based on atmospheric vector radiative transmission are studied, and the polarization characteristic modeling is completed. First using rough sea surface Cox-Munk model and Fresnel reflection law to simulate the real sea surface radiation state, determine the environmental data needed for the simulation, then based on radiation transmission simulation tools analysis of atmospheric Rayleigh scattering and aerosol scattering influence on the polarization radiation state, finally with the sea surface radiation state coupling get atmospheric top polarization radiation state. In order to verify the correctness of the proposed modeling method, the modeling results of this method are compared with the data actually obtained by the polarization detector of DPC. The results show that the overall trend and consistency of the observed and simulated values are good. This method can effectively simulate the polarization characteristics of the sea atmosphere in sunny and cloudy weather, and provide good data support for the offshore polarization detection in sunny and cloudy weather conditions. © 2023 SPIE.
