Low-light image enhancement algorithm using a residual network with semantic information

Aiming to solve the poor performance of low illumination enhancement algorithms on uneven illumination images,a low-light image enhancement(LIME)algorithm based on a residual network was *** algorithm constructs a deep network that uses residual modules to extract image feature information and semantic modules to extract image semantic information from different ***,a composite loss function was also designed for the process of low illumination image enhancement,which dynamically evaluated the loss of an enhanced image from three factors of color,structure,and *** ensures that the model can correctly enhance the image features according to the image semantics,so that the enhancement results are more in line with the human visual *** results show that compared with the state-of-the-art algorithms,the semantic-driven residual low-light network(SRLLN)can effectively improve the quality of low illumination images,and achieve better subjective and objective evaluation indexes on different types of images.

Two-dimensional (2-D) array sets with good 2-D correlation properties have received considerable attention in wireless communication systems. This paper focuses on 2-D Z-complementary array code sets (ZCACSs), which have ideal 2-D correlation properties within a rectangular zone around the origin. By developing a theory linking 2-D extended Boolean functions with 2-D arrays, we establish an efficient construction of 2-D ZCACSs. In contrast to previous work, the proposed construction is capable of producing 2-D ZCACSs with new flexible parameters. Constructions of three-dimensional (3-D) and higher-dimensional ZCACSs are further investigated. We remark that 2-D and higher-dimensional complete complementary codes (CCCs) can also be generated from the proposed constructions. © 1967-2012 IEEE.

Speaker conversion using kernel non-negative matrix factorization

Voice conversion （VC） based on Gaussian mixture model （GMM） is the most classic and common method which converts the source spectrum to target spectrum. However this method is prone to over-fitting because of its frame-by-frame conversion. The VC with non-negative matrix factorization （NMF） is presented in this paper, which can keep spectrum from over-fitting by adjusting the size of basis vector （dictionary）. In order to realize the non-linear mapping better, kernel NMF （KNMF） is adopted to achieve spectrum mapping. In addition, to increase the accuracy of conversion, KNMF combined with GMM （GKNMF） is also introduced into VC. In the end, KNMF, GKNMF, GMM, principal component regression （PCR）, PCR combined with GMM （GPCR）, partial least square regression （PLSR）, NMF correlation-based frequency warping （NMF-CFW） and deep neural network （DNN） methods are compared with each other. The proposed GKNMF gets better performance in both objective evaluation and subjective evaluation.

Conventional single-chip digital cameras use color filter arrays(CFA) to sample different spectral components. image demosaicing is a problem of interpolating these data to complete red, green, and blue values for each image pixel, to produce an RGB image. Many color demosaicing(CDM) methods assume that the high local spatial redundancy exists among the color samples. Such an assumption, however, may be fail for images with high color saturation and sharp color transitions. This paper presents an adaptive demosaicing algorithm by exploiting both the non-local similarity and the local correlation(NLS-LC) in the color filter array image. First, the most flattest nonlocal image patches are searched in the searching window centered on the estimated pixel. Second, the patch, which is the most similar to the current patch, is selected among the most smoothest nonlocal patches. Third, according to the similar degree and the local correlation degree, the obtained nonlocal image patch and the current patch are adaptively chosen to estimate the missing color samples. Experimental results indicate that the proposed method exhibits superior performance over many state-of-the-art color interpolation methods.

Influence of intramolecular π-π interaction on the luminescent properties of thermally activated delayed fluorescence（TADF） molecule（3, 5-bis（3,6-di-tert-butyl-9 H-carbazol-9-yl）-phenyl）（pyridin-4-yl） methanone（DTCBPY） is theoretically studied by using the density functional theory（DFT） and time-dependent density functional theory（TD-DFT）.Four conformations（named as A, B, C, and D） of the DTCBPY can be found by relax scanning, and the configuration C corresponds to the luminescent molecule detected experimentally. Besides, we calculate the proportion of each conformation by Boltzmann distribution, high configuration ratios（44% and 52%） can be found for C and D. Moreover, C and D are found to exist with an intramolecular π-π interaction between one donor and the acceptor; the intramolecular interaction brings a smaller Huang-Rhys factor and reduced reorganization energy. Our work presents a rational explanation for the experimental results and demonstrates the importance of the intramolecular π-π interaction to the photophysical properties of TADF molecules.

The study utilized a human-centered perspective to research the financial markets, focusing on identifying variations in eye movement patterns between professional and non-professional traders as they analyze a series of stock charts. We use eye movement data as the analysis target because we hypothesize that it represents a behavioral phenotype indicative of stock analysts' cognitive processes during market analysis. Disparities were identified by conducting variance analysis and Wilcoxon signed-rank test on statistical metrics derived from eye fixations and saccades. We provided psychological and economic interpretations to understand the underlying reasons for these observed patterns. To showcase the practical application potential of the human-centered perspective, eye movement data and human visual characteristics were used to construct visual saliency prediction models of professional stock analysts. Leveraging this human-centered model, we developed two practical application demonstrations specifically designed to support and instruct novice traders. Based on the above demonstrations, we designed a training program that demonstrates how, with ongoing training, the non-professional traders' ability to observe stock charts improves progressively. Segmentation of the Ventricle Membranes in Short-Axis Sequences by Optical Flow Base on DLSRE Model

Recent studies have pointed out that the boundary of the extracted ventricle membranes is unsmooth, and the segmentation of the cardiac papillary muscle and trabecular muscle do inconformity the clinical requirements. To address these issues, this paper proposes an automatic segment algorithm for continuously extracting ventricle membranes boundary, which adopts optical flow field information and sequential images information. The images are cropped by frame difference method, which according to the continuity of adjacent slices of cardiac MRI images. The roughly boundary of epicardium is extracted by the Double level set region evolution(DLSRE) model, which combines image global information, local information and edge information. The ventricle endocardium and epicardial contours are tracked according to the optical flow field information between image sequences. The segmentation results are optimized by Delaunay triangulation algorithm. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can improve the accuracy of segmenting the ventricle endocardium and epicardium contours, and segment the contour of the smooth ventricle membrane edge that meets the clinical definition.

This paper proposes an improved image interpolation method based on the soft-decision adaptive interpolation (SAI) algorithm. Natural images often contain repeatable patterns and structures throughout the image, which is called non-local property. We can use this non-local strategy to improve the interpolation quality by better estimating the model parameters and Lagrangian multiplier. There are two steps in our method. In the first step, similar patches of the given block are found in the initialized high resolution image, and the model parameters can be determined properly using the expanded piecewise auto regression (PAR) model and non-local spatial constraint. In the second step, the self-similarity of patches across the high and low resolution images is exploited to solve the Lagrangian multiplier , thus to make the data estimation robust. Experiments indicate that the improved method can achieve good results both subjectively and objectively. © 2011 IEEE.

As the deadliest form of pollution, air pollution had a prolonged severe damage to the human health and life safety of nearly 99% of the world's population. Facing to the problem that billions of tons of pollutants discharged into the air per year by industrial activities, this paper proposed a novel image-based air pollution monitor (IAPM) by incorporating local and global information in the self-adaptive multiscale transform domain, so as to achieve the timely and effective leakage detection of typical air pollutants from a single image. To be specific, this paper first developed a screen-shaped module according to two significant findings in visual neuroscience, which include the high sensitivity of human eyes to horizontal and vertical stimuli and the center-surround inhibition, by designing and fusing the square module, horizontal strip module and vertical strip module parallelly for simulating the behaviour of human eyes to extract local features. Second, the learnable weights and proportional mapping were applied to incorporate the screen-shaped module and lightweight vision transformer as backbone, towards more richly exploiting and fusing local and global information just as the way a brain perceives external stimuli. Third, a new self-adaptive multiscale transform domain method was devised based on two motivations from the visual characteristics of multiscale perception and the brain characteristics of self-adaptive domain transform to modify the backbone by using the operations of pooling and pointwise convolution. Extensive experiments implemented on the datasets of carbon particulate matters and ethylene leakage confirmed the superior monitoring performance of the proposed IAPM model beyond the state-of-the-art (SOTA) peers by an accuracy gain of about 4%. Furthermore, the proposed IAPM model only required 0.089 GFLOPs and 0.15 million model parameters, remarkably outperforming SOTA competitors in computational efficiency and storage resources. © 1999-2
