This paper aims to develop a holistic evaluation method for piano sound quality to assist in purchasing decisions. Unlike previous studies that focused on the effect of piano performance techniques on sound quality, this study evaluates the inherent sound quality of different pianos. To derive quality evaluation systems, the study uses subjective questionnaires based on a piano sound quality dataset. The method selects the optimal piano classification models by comparing the fine-tuning results of different pre-training models of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN). To improve the interpretability of the models, the study applies Equivalent Rectangular Bandwidth (ERB) analysis. The results reveal that musically trained individuals are better able to distinguish between the sound quality differences of different pianos. The best fine-tuned CNN pre-trained backbone achieves a high accuracy of 98.3% as the piano classifier. However, the dataset is limited, and the audio is sliced to increase its quantity, resulting in a lack of diversity and balance, so we use focal loss to reduce the impact of data imbalance. To optimize the method, the dataset will be expanded, or few-shot learning techniques will be employed in future research. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

To delve into the characterization of growth disorders in different crops, it is important to support the model with a large amount of image data that includes a variety of disease types and disease levels to capture the typical and subtle differences of various diseases on plant leaves. However, the actual process of gathering data is challenging, sample coverage is challenging to accomplish, data capture is impeded, and the quality of the data is subpar. This work aims to address the issue of data shortages by employing technical methods. In particular, we creatively investigated the UAE-GAN approach, which naturally combines CycleGAN, U-Net, Variational Autoencoder VAE, and Autoencoder to increase the data. Among these, U-Net can precisely extract the small details of disease locations in crop photos and provide a strong basis for further processing thanks to its special codec architectural benefits. The Variational Autoencoder (VAE) significantly enhances the diversity of data by mapping the image to the latent space and sampling based on a certain probability distribution, so producing new image samples that are distinct from the original image yet inherently connected. Learning the coding and decoding of the original image is the foundation of autoencoders. If a mild disruption is introduced into the coding process, it can achieve data augmentation in another dimension and create a sequence of new images with just little modifications to the original image. The aforementioned models are closely linked with CycleGAN to efficiently map and convert in a variety of picture domains and to fully leverage CycleGAN's remarkable unsupervised image conversion capabilities. Ciphertext-Policy Attribute-Based Encryption (CP-ABE) enables fine-grained access control on ciphertexts, making it a promising approach for managing data stored in the cloud-enabled Internet of Things. But existing schemes often suffer from privacy breaches due to explicit attachment of access policies or partial hiding of critical attribute content. Additionally, resource-constrained IoT devices, especially those adopting wireless communication, frequently encounter affordability issues regarding decryption costs. In this paper, we propose an efficient and fine-grained access control scheme with fully hidden policies (named FHAC). FHAC conceals all attributes in the policy and utilizes bloom filters to efficiently locate them. A test phase before decryption is applied to assist authorized users in finding matches between their attributes and the access policy. Dictionary attacks are thwarted by providing unauthorized users with invalid values. The heavy computational overhead of both the test phase and most of the decryption phase is outsourced to two cloud servers. Additionally, users can verify the correctness of multiple outsourced decryption results simultaneously. Security analysis and performance comparisons demonstrate FHAC's effectiveness in protecting policy privacy and achieving efficient decryption. © 2024 Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications

Dual-branch adjacent connection and channel mixing network for video crowd counting

This paper focuses on the problem of video crowd counting, which usually uses the spatial and temporal correlations of the consecutive frames to achieve better performance than the single-image crowd counting methods. However, most of the current video crowd counting methods either use only two or three frames for optical flow or frame-difference feature extraction or construct a single-branch network to extract spatiotemporal correlated features. The interactions of features for multiple adjacent frames, which can effectively prevent disturbances caused by background noise, are mostly overlooked. Considering the above problems, we propose a dual-branch adjacent connection and channel mixing network for multi-frame video crowd counting. For the upper branch, an adjacent layer connection method is proposed to capture the multi-scaled spatiotemporal correlations among multiple consecutive frames instead of the traditional dense connections in decomposed 3D convolutional blocks. It achieves better performance and low computation cost. For the lower branch, adaptive temporal channel mixing blocks are proposed to exchange partial channel information among the adjacent frames for feature interaction. The partial channel transpose operation is first proposed to exchange information. It is parameter-free and flexible to achieve interactions among features of any number of consecutive frames. The proposed method outperforms the current image-based and video-based crowd counting models, achieving state-of-the-art performance on six publicly available datasets. A Stronger Leakage Model Based on Conditional Generative Adversarial Networks for Correlation Power Analysis

Deep learning-based side-channel attacks (DL-SCA) have attracted widespread attention in recent years, and most of the researchers are devoted to finding the optimal DL-SCA method. At the same time, traditional SCA methods have lost their luster. However, traditional attacks still have certain advantages. Compared with the DL-SCA method, they do not require cumbersome engineering of tuning DL models and hyperparameters, making them easier to implement. Correlation power analysis (CPA), as a traditional SCA method, is still widely used in various analysis scenarios and plays an important role. In CPA, the leakage model is the key to simulating the power consumption, and it decides the attack efficiency. However, the existing leakage models are designed based on theory but ignore the actual attack scene. We found that conditional generative adversarial networks (CGAN) can ideally learn the target device's leakage characteristics and real power consumption. We let CGAN pre-learn the leakage of the target device, and then make the generator as the leakage model (Formula presented.). The (Formula presented.) leakage model can characterize the leakages of the device and consider the presence of noise in the actual scenario. It can map the power consumption more realistically and accurately, which can lead to a more powerful CPA attack. In this work, three kinds of (Formula presented.) leakage models ((Formula presented.) 1, (Formula presented.) 2, and (Formula presented.) 3 leakage models) corresponding to the labels least significant bit (LSB), hamming weight (HW), and identity (ID) of CGAN are discussed. The experimental results show that the (Formula presented.) 3 leakage model has better attack performance. Compared with the ordinary HW leakage model, the number of traces needed to recover the key on the ASCAD and SAKURA-AES datasets reduced by about 38.9% and 85.9%, respectively. © 2025 John Wiley & Sons Ltd.

Multipath signal recognition is crucial to the ability to provide high-precision absolute-position services by the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System(BDS).However,most existing approaches to this issue involve supervised machine learning(ML)methods,and it is difficult to move to unsupervised multipath signal recognition because of the limitations in signal *** by an autoencoder with powerful unsupervised feature extraction,we propose a new deep learning(DL)model for BDS signal recognition that places a long short-term memory(LSTM)module in series with a convolutional sparse autoencoder to create a new autoencoder ***,we propose to capture the temporal correlations in long-duration BeiDou satellite time-series signals by using the LSTM module to mine the temporal change patterns in the time ***,we develop a convolutional sparse autoencoder method that learns a compressed representation of the input data,which then enables downscaled and unsupervised feature extraction from long-duration BeiDou satellite series ***,we add an l_(1/2) regularizer to the objective function of our DL model to remove redundant neurons from the neural network while ensuring recognition *** tested our proposed approach on a real urban canyon dataset,and the results demonstrated that our algorithm could achieve better classification performance than two ML-based methods(e.g.,11%better than a support vector machine)and two existing DL-based methods(e.g.,7.26%better than convolutional neural networks).

With the development of communication technology, the Internet of Vehicles (IoV) is becoming increasingly important, enabling vehicle-to-everything communication for real-time information exchange and processing, thereby significantly enhancing traffic efficiency and safety. In this article, we consider a joint beamforming design problem in IoV, where the objective is to minimize transmission power, computation rate, and communication rate within the integrated sensing, communication, and computation (ISCC) framework. Moreover, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs) can provide additional spatial degrees of freedom to enhance the performance of ISCC systems in IoV within limited spectrum, energy resources, and complex interference management. To address the joint beamforming design problem, we present a cooperative beamforming algorithm called weight performance optimization (WPO), which explores three single-objective optimization problems in sensing, computation, and communication within the IoV context, using alternating optimization (AO) to simplify and solve these foundational elements of the WPO framework within limited resources and vehicle mobility, enhancing resource distribution while maintaining a balance between power efficiency and system performance. Numerical results demonstrate the efficiency and potential advantages of our proposed algorithms. Specifically, the results show that the sensing error of the WPO algorithm is reduced by up to 92.2% compared to existing popular algorithms, while the computation rate and communication rate are increased by more than 29.5% and 23.9%, respectively. © 2014 IEEE.

Adaptive Occlusion Face Recognition Feature Fusion Network Based on Precise Guidance Mask Extraction

The uncertainty in the position and size of occluding objects greatly affects the extraction of identity features in facial recognition, which is a challenge that existing methods fail to effectively address. To tackle this issue, this paper introduces a novel feature fusion network for occluded facial recognition that adaptively handles arbitrary occlusions and accurately extracts occlusion information masks. The network effectively mitigates the impact of occlusions on facial identity features through a feature fusion module. The proposed method employs an occlusion classification module and an occlusion classification loss to precisely guide the extraction of accurate occlusion masks. Subsequently, an occlusion-aware hybrid attention module is introduced, which focuses on the relationship between facial features and occlusion masks across channel and spatial dimensions. This fusion strategy enables the extraction of facial identity features that are resilient to occlusions. Experimental results indicate that the proposed method holds a significant advantage in handling facial recognition tasks with arbitrary occlusions. On the LFW and MF1 synthetic occlusion datasets, the average accuracy rates reached 93.19% and 72.57%, respectively, showing improvements of 1.7 and 2.39 percent points over mainstream methods. © Shanghai Jiao Tong University 2025.

Detection of Perfect Stealthy Attacks on Cyber-Physical Systems Subject to Measurement Quantizations: A Watermark-Based Strategy

In this paper, the attack detection problem is investigated for a class of closed-loop systems subjected to unknownbutbounded noises in the presence of stealthy attacks. The measurement outputs from the sensors are quantized before transmission.A specific type of perfect stealthy attack, which meets certain rather stringent conditions, is taken into account. Such attacks could be injected by adversaries into both the sensor-toestimator and controller-to-actuator channels, with the aim of disrupting the normal data flow. For the purpose of defending against these perfect stealthy attacks, a novel scheme based on watermarks is developed. This scheme includes the injection of watermarks(applied to data prior to quantization) and the recovery of data(implemented before the data reaches the estimator).The watermark-based scheme is designed to be both timevarying and hidden from adversaries through incorporating a time-varying and bounded watermark signal. Subsequently, a watermark-based attack detection strategy is proposed which thoroughly considers the characteristics of perfect stealthy attacks,thereby ensuring that an alarm is activated upon the occurrence of such attacks. An example is provided to demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed mechanism for detecting attacks.

Traffic congestion during ambulance travel can delay medical response times. With the growing availability of traffic data, computational methods for traffic flow prediction are attracting significant attention. However, current computational prediction models have the following shortcomings. Fully connected networks require extensive feature engineering yet struggle to capture local traffic flow features. Their high parameter count increases training time and overfitting risk, while varying traffic conditions hinder model generalization. Therefore, in this work, we propose a hybrid-feature-based autoencoder (HFAE) model to predict traffic flow and accelerate ambulance medical response time in Internet of Vehicles. Specifically, the HFAE model simultaneously considers local features from the convolutional neural network and global features from the fully connected neural network. Additionally, the HFAE model uses an autoencoder to reconstruct the original input, capturing the intrinsic structure of the traffic flow data. Specifically, the root mean-squared error and mean absolute error scores of the HFAE model are better than those of the three mainstream models. © 2014 IEEE.
