Task-oriented point cloud sampling methods have attracted considerable attention for their ability to adaptively select important point sets based on downstream tasks, achieving an excellent balance between data simplification and task performance. However, existing task-oriented sampling models, primarily based on single-branch designs, struggle to fully extract features from input point clouds that comprehensively reflect multi-dimensional key information, thus limiting their sampling performance. In this paper, we introduce a dual-branch sampling network, named DBS-NET, which conducts crucial point sampling from both the global and local importance perspectives separately before merging them, thereby preserving multi-dimensional key information of the input data during the sampling process. Qualitative and quantitative experimental results demonstrate the competitive performance of DBS-NET on the classification benchmark task. © 2024 IEEE.

Aim: In order to realize the position of acupoints on the back of humans, a new acupoints positioning approach combined with machine vision technology is proposed in this paper. Background: The acupuncture point (acupoint) is an important reference in the treatment of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). However, the traditional acupoints positioning method mainly depends on manpower, which has the disadvantages of low efficiency and relying on practical experience heavily. Objective: In order to realize the position of acupoints on the back of humans, a new acupoints positioning approach combined with machine vision technology is proposed in this paper. Methods: Firstly, the distribution of acupoints on the back of humans are determined according to the meridian theory, and the coordinate of each acupoint are established based on the approach of fingercun measurement, after review of previous literature and patents. Secondly, the principle of the proposed acupoints positioning method is introduced based on the skeleton model of humans. Finally, the effec-tiveness of the proposed approach is validated by experimental testing. Results: The value of emax is around 3.5mm and those of emae and erms are smaller than 0.25mm and 0.45mm, respectively. Conclusion: The experimental results prove that the proposed approach possesses the capability of good adaptive capability and high. © 2023 Bentham Science Publishers.

As a data-driven science, machine learning requires vast amounts of training data and computational resources. However, for highly privacy-sensitive data, it is crucial to protect the privacy of the data during both the training and utilization of machine learning models. In this paper, we propose a privacy-preserving machine learning approach using autoencoders and differential privacy mechanisms to safeguard data privacy while minimizing the impact on data availability. Specifically, we augment logistic regression and ResNet18 models with different architectures of autoencoders to perform data encryption? without compromising the machine learning tasks. Additionally, we employ differential privacy mechanisms to introduce gradient perturbations in the encoding part of the autoencoder, enhancing the algorithm’s security and further protecting data privacy. We also design the cosine similarity between the encoded and original data as a metric for evaluating data privacy, considering model performance, privacy budget, and data privacy collectively to balance data availability and privacy. Extensive experiments conducted on MNIST, CIFAR-10, PathMNIST, and BloodMNIST datasets demonstrate that for simple logistic regression models handling easily classifiable datasets, employing simple autoencoder structures can enhance classification accuracy, with significant performance impact after adding differential privacy. For ResNet18, utilizing convolutional autoencoders for data encryption generally has minimal impact on model classification performance and can even improve accuracy in most cases. Adding differential privacy has minor effects on model classification performance. Selecting appropriate model structures and privacy budgets for different usage scenarios can ensure both data availability and privacy. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Active disturbance-rejection methods are effective in estimating and rejecting disturbances in both transient and steady-state *** paper presents a deep observation on and a comparison between two of those methods:the generalized extended-state observer(GESO)and the equivalent input disturbance(EID)from assumptions,system configurations,stability conditions,system design,disturbance-rejection performance,and extensibility.A time-domain index is introduced to assess the disturbance-rejection performance.A detailed observation of disturbance-suppression mechanisms reveals the superiority of the EID approach over the GESO method.A comparison between these two methods shows that assumptions on disturbances are more practical and the adjustment of disturbance-rejection performance is easier for the EID approach than for the GESO method.

The agent-based financial market simulators serve as an important validation tool for trading strategies. For high-fidelity simulation, it is pivotal to calibrate the parameters of a simulator so that the generated simulation data resembles the observed real market data of interest. In traditional calibration methods, it is typical that the parameters of the simulator are set to be time-invariant. However, the dynamic nature of the real financial market introduces various variability into the behaviors of the market participants over different time intervals, posing in-herent limitations to the traditional methods. A more reasonable approach might involve employing a simulator with time-variant parameters. This suggests that the model parameters can be dynamically adjusted at different stages of the simulation to adapt to the evolving market. Consequently, the calibration problem of the financial market simulators can be treated as a dynamic optimization problem. To dynamically calibrate the simulators, we introduce an Evolutionary Dynamic Optimization (EDO) framework. By monitoring the changes of the best fitness, the whole simulation time interval is adaptively divided into multiple stages. Then the Negatively Correlated Search (NCS) algorithm is employed to effectively adjust the parameters at different simulation stages to better simulate the real financial market. Empirical results on both synthetic and real data verify that our dynamic calibration framework significantly outperforms traditional calibration methods that fixing a parameter for the whole simulation interval. The proposed strategy of detecting dynamic changes is also shown to be more reliable than the naive method of manually segmenting stages. In terms of calibration time, our proposed method significantly improves by nearly 93% compared to the fixed parameter setting, and approximately 61% compared to manual segmentation calibration. © 2024 IEEE.

The goal of aspect-based multimodal sentiment analysis (ABMSA) is to classify the sentiment associated with aspect words in a given context. Most current ABMSA models focus only on general inter-modal information interactions without considering both intra-modal and inter-modal information interactions and ignoring image noise. To address these issues, this paper proposes an Interactive Attention Mechanism Fusion Network (IAMFN) model. The model first designs an image-text fusion module based on the attention, which applies the attention mechanism to a recurrent neural network to fuse text and images while filtering the noise in the images, and finally adds the fused information to the aspect information step by step to obtain the dynamic inter-modal representation. In addition, this paper proposes an aspect-text fusion module based on the attention, which learns the intra-modal contextual representation by calculating the weights of each aspect word in the context. Finally, this paper stitches the information obtained from the two modules and feeds it into the fully connected softmax layers to predict sentiment polarity. We have conducted extensive experiments on two benchmark datasets and the experimental results show that our model achieves state-of-the-art performance. © 2023 IEEE.

A Doherty Power Amplifier (DPA) has been designed and optimized specifically for compact mobile base station deployment, operating within a frequency range of 3.3 GHz to 3.6 GHz. The amplifier utilizes the proprietary DS10-2092 LDMOS transistors developed by the company for both the carrier and peak power amplifiers. Physical test results indicate that the DPA achieves saturated output power meeting the specified requirements, with a maximum saturated drain efficiency of 41%. The drain efficiency remains stable between 26.3% and 30.7% over a 6 dB power back-off range, demonstrating its superior performance in high-efficiency and broadband applications.

Pedestrian trajectory prediction plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of various applications, including autonomous vehicles and traffic management systems. This paper proposes a novel method for pedestrian trajectory prediction, called multi-stage goal-driven network (MGNet). Diverging from prior approaches relying on stepwise recursive prediction and the singular forecasting of a long-term goal, MGNet directs trajectory generation by forecasting intermediate stage goals, thereby reducing prediction errors. The network comprises three main components: a conditional variational autoencoder (CVAE), an attention module, and a multi-stage goal evaluator. Trajectories are encoded using conditional variational autoencoders to acquire knowledge about the approximate distribution of pedestrians' future trajectories, and combined with an attention mechanism to capture the temporal dependency between trajectory sequences. The pivotal module is the multi-stage goal evaluator, which utilizes the encoded feature vectors to predict intermediate goals, effectively minimizing cumulative errors in the recursive inference process. The effectiveness of MGNet is demonstrated through comprehensive experiments on the JAAD and PIE datasets. Comparative evaluations against state-of-the-art algorithms reveal significant performance improvements achieved by our proposed method. © 2024 IEEE.

Since the GPT-X models have made progress in generative tasks, a large number of large language models (LLMs) have sprung up. When the powerful features of LLMs have attracted the interest of numerous researchers, their misuse has also become a source of growing concern for human beings. In fact, LLMs have been used to generate fake news, fake academic papers, and fake patent application documents. Detecting whether content is generated by artificial intelligence (AI) has been a significant problem. Unfortunately, to our knowledge, there is currently no existing research focused on AI-generated patent text detection, nor are there any datasets tailored for patents publicly available. In this paper, to explore the differences between AI-generated and human-written patent texts, we generate a set of patent abstract texts by ChatGPT, in Chinese and English, from granted patent claims. Each generated patent abstract text corresponds to its original patent abstract. We analyze the linguistic characteristics of two types of patent texts by various comparison experiments. Segment-Adaptive Spread Spectrum Audio Watermarking Using NSGA-Ⅱ

In the field of robust audio watermarking,how to seek a good trade-off between robustness and imperceptibility is challenging. The existing studies use the same embedding parameter for each part of the audio signal, which ignores that different parts may have different requirements for embedding parameters. In this work, the constraints on imperceptibility are first ***, we present a segment multi-objective optimization model of the scaling parameter under the constrained Signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) in Spread spectrum(SS)audio watermarking. Additionally, we adopt the Nondominated sorting genetic algorithm Ⅱ(NSGA-Ⅱ) to solve the proposed model. Finally, we compare our algorithm(called SS-SNR-NSGA-Ⅱ) with the existing methods. The experimental results show that the proposed SS-SNRNSGA-Ⅱ not only provides flexible choices for different application demands but also achieves more and better trade-offs between imperceptibility and robustness.
