Task Prioritization in Multiagent Environments: A Novel Approach Using Nash Q-Learning

—With the rapid proliferation of smartphones and various terminal devices, edge computing has gained increasing importance in overcoming computational limitations and enhancing service quality through task offloading. However, most existing approaches handle tasks on a first-come, first-served basis, neglecting task prioritization, which is critical in real-world scenarios where tasks have different levels of urgency and resource requirements. This paper addresses the challenge of effective task prioritization in multi-agent task offloading by proposing a Nash Q-learning-based strategy. Our methodology involves optimizing task allocation decisions using Nash Q-learning to integrate Nash equilibrium principles, thereby enhancing adaptability and dynamic decision-making capabilities within a multi-agent environment. The proposed algorithm is evaluated through extensive simulations, comparing total delay, resource utilization, and task success rates across various task offloading strategies. The results demonstrate that our Nash Q-learning approach outperforms conventional techniques by dramatically lowering overall latency, optimizing resource allocation, and maintaining high task success rates. This work demonstrates the efficacy of Nash Q-learning for dynamically setting priorities for tasks in multi-agent edge computing environments, providing a robust framework for effective resource management and collaborative task completion. And also highlight the potential of Nash Q-learning in advancing intelligent task management in edge computing, suggesting its applicability in real-world, resource-constrained environments. © 2025 IEEE. Object detection has been an important research branch in the field of computer vision. The single-shot-detection (SSD) is an object detection model based on deep learning, which can achieve a good balance between the detection accuracy and the detection speed, but has the problem of poor recognition accuracy for small objects. To address this limitation , this paper improves the structure of the SSD feature pyramid and upsamples the shallow feature map with small object information and fuses it with the upper feature map, thus enhancing the ability of the shallow feature map to represent detailed information. In this way, not only the overall detection accuracy of the SSD is improved, but also a relatively high detection speed is maintained. The proposed model is verified by experiments on two common datasets, the Pascal VOC and MS COCO datasets. On the PASCAL VOC07+12, MS COCO14, and VOC07+12 + COCO datasets, the improved model achieves the mean average precision values of 80.1% (+3.3% compared with the conventional model), 49.9% (+6.8%), and 82.1% (+3.0%), respectively. Meanwhile, the proposed model can achieve the detection speed of 42.2 frames per second. © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

SS4Rec: Continuous-Time Sequential Recommendation with State Space Models

Sequential recommendation is a key area in the field of recommender systems aiming to model user interest based on historical interaction sequences with irregular intervals. While previous recurrent neural network-based and attention-based approaches have achieved significant results, they have limitations in capturing system continuity due to the discrete characteristics. In the context of continuous-time modeling, state space model (SSM) offers a potential solution, as it can effectively capture the dynamic evolution of user interest over time. However, existing SSM-based approaches ignore the impact of irregular time intervals within historical user interactions, making it difficult to model complexed user-item transitions in sequences. To address this issue, we propose a hybrid SSM-based model called SS4Rec for continuous-time sequential recommendation. SS4Rec integrates a time-aware SSM to handle irregular time intervals and a relation-aware SSM to model contextual dependencies, enabling it to infer user interest from both temporal and sequential perspectives. In the training process, the time-aware SSM and the relation-aware SSM are discretized by variable stepsizes according to user interaction time intervals and input data, respectively. This helps capture the continuous dependency from irregular time intervals and provides time-specific personalized recommendations. Experimental studies on five benchmark datasets demonstrate the superiority and effectiveness of SS4Rec. Copyright © 2025, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Pseudogenes are important resources for investigation of genome evolution and genomic diversity because they are nonfunctional but have regulatory effects that influence plant adaptation and ***,few systematic comparative analyses of pseudogenes in closely related species have been ***,we present a turnip(Brassica rapa ***)genome sequence and characterize pseudogenes among diploid Brassica species/*** results revealed that the number of pseudogenes was greatest in Brassica oleracea(CC genome),followed by ***(AA genome)and then Brassica nigra(BB genome),implying that pseudogene differences emerged after species *** Brassica AA genomes,pseudogenes were distributed asymmetrically on chromosomes because of numerous chromosomal insertions/rearrangements,which contributed to the diversity among *** differences among subspecies were reflected in the flavor-related glucosinolate(GSL)***,turnip had the highest content of pungent substances,probably because of expansion of the methylthioalkylmalate synthase-encoding gene family in turnips;these genes were converted into pseudogenes in *** ***(Chiifu).RNA interference-based silencing of the gene encoding 2-oxoglutarate-dependent dioxygenase 2,which is also associated with flavor and anticancer substances in the GSL pathway,resulted in increased abundance of anticancer compounds and decreased pungency of turnip and *** findings revealed that pseudogene differences between turnip and Chiifu influenced the evolution of flavor-associated GSL metabolism-related genes,ultimately resulting in the different flavors of turnip and Chiifu.

In this work, an Enhanced-Precision Bandgap Reference Incorporating Temperature-Compensation was proposed. Unlike traditional bandgap references, the reference voltage output of 0.701 V is realized by combining reference current and resistor. Meanwhile, an innovative Linear-piecewise current compensation was proposed, which aimed at optimizing the temperature drift of the bandgap reference. The simulation results shows that the proposed curvature-compensation technique improves the TC from 24.96 to 2.14 $\text{ppm}/^{\circ}\mathrm{C}$ in the temperature range of $-40 \ {}^{\circ}\mathrm{C}$ to $120 \ {}^{\circ}\mathrm{C}$ ; the PSRR of Enhanced-Precision Bandgap Reference at low frequency is 72.40 dB; the line regulation is about 0.08 %/V for input voltages between 3.2 and 3.7 V in standard 0.18 μm 1P6M CMOS process. The proposal of this new circuit provides a new idea for the realization of high- performance integrated circuits in the future.

Smart Grids (SG) rely on Home Area Networks (HAN) and Neighborhood Area Networks (NAN) to ensure efficient power distribution, real-time monitoring, and seamless communication between smart devices. Despite these advantages, the use of public communication channels in HAN and NAN networks introduces critical challenges, such as vulnerability to impersonation, physical tampering, and scalability issues in resource-constrained environments. These issues compromise the stability, reliability, and security of SG environments. Existing protocols often fail to adequately address these challenges, particularly in ensuring resistance to physical tampering of supply lines and impersonation attacks. Additionally, they struggle to minimize the computation, communication, and energy costs associated with securing a resource-constrained SG environment. Therefore, we propose a robust key exchange and tamper-resistant protocol for HAN and NAN networks to address these limitations. The proposed protocol leverages the Physical Unclonable Function (PUF) mechanism to offer physical tampering resistance to smart meters. We validate our protocol formally using the Random or Real (RoR) model, which confirms its security robustness. Additionally, our informal security analysis highlights the protocol's resilience against impersonation, physical tampering attacks, etc. We analyze and compare the performance of the proposed protocol, which further demonstrates our protocol's effectiveness and security compared to competing protocols. Moreover, the proposed protocol achieves resource efficiency with 45.99% and 58.85% substantial reductions in computation overhead and energy overhead, respectively, compared to competing protocols. These results showcase the protocol's enhanced security and practicality for resource-constrained SG environments. © 2014 IEEE.
