Modeling and Path Generation Approaches for Crowd Simulation Based on Computational Intelligence

Modeling and simulating group behaviours have been an active research topic in the field of computer animation and game. This paper presents some novel approaches for supporting entity modeling and path generation in crowd simulation. It analyses related work about crowd simulation first. Then, an entity modeling approach based on CGA (Cellular genetic algorithm) and NURBS (Non uniform relational B splines) technologies is presented. Next, following the analysis to PSO (Particle swarm optimization) and ABC (Artificial bee colony) algorithms, a crowd path generative approach based on ABC- PSO is put forward. After that, a simulating example of crowd cohesion and performance comparison are exhibited for showing the efficiency of the algorithms. Finally, the current work is summarized and an outlook for the future work is given.

BIG-MOE: BYPASS ISOLATED GATING MOE FOR GENERALIZED MULTIMODAL FACE ANTI-SPOOFING

In the domain of facial recognition security, multimodal Face Anti-Spoofing (FAS) is essential for countering presentation attacks. However, existing technologies encounter challenges due to modality biases and imbalances, as well as domain shifts. Our research introduces a Mixture of Experts (MoE) model to address these issues effectively. We identified three limitations in traditional MoE approaches to multimodal FAS: (1) Coarse-grained experts’ inability to capture nuanced spoofing indicators;(2) Gated networks’ susceptibility to input noise affecting decision-making;(3) MoE’s sensitivity to prompt tokens leading to overfitting with conventional learning methods. To mitigate these, we propose the Bypass Isolated Gating MoE (BIG-MoE) framework, featuring: (1) Fine-grained experts for enhanced detection of subtle spoofing cues;(2) An isolation gating mechanism to counteract input noise;(3) A novel differential convolutional prompt bypass enriching the gating network with critical local features, thereby improving perceptual capabilities. Extensive experiments on four benchmark datasets demonstrate significant generalization performance improvement in multimodal FAS task. The code is released at https://***/murInJ/BIGMoE. Smart contracts, due to their immutability and transparency upon deployment, entail significant economic and systemic risks from any vulnerabilities present. Traditional vulnerability detection methods suffer from low automation and high false positive rates, while existing deep learning-based approaches inadequately extract contract features, thereby limiting detection accuracy. To address these issues, this paper proposes FEMD: a feature-enhanced aided multimodal feature fusion method for smart contract vulnerability detection. Building on the foundation of addressing the low automation of traditional detection tools, our method improves the model's feature extraction performance and detection capabilities. Specifically, we construct a contract graph through Comprehensive Expert-Graph Fusion, combining multi-modal feature fusion using a multi-head attention mechanism with expert patterns to ensure the capture and effective preservation of all critical information during the fusion process. To delve deeper into potential information within smart contract graphs, we employ a Feature Enhancer that leverages transpose operations on feature matrices to extract complex interaction patterns across different dimensions. Our approach is validated through batches of experiments on the Ethereum open dataset focusing on reentrancy and timestamp dependency vulnerabilities, demonstrating significant improvements in detection accuracy and robustness. © 2024 IEEE.

DEGSTalk: Decomposed Per-Embedding Gaussian Fields for Hair-Preserving Talking Face Synthesis

Accurately synthesizing talking face videos and capturing fine facial features for individuals with long hair presents a significant challenge. To tackle these challenges in existing methods, we propose a decomposed per-embedding Gaussian fields (DEGSTalk), a 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS)-based talking face synthesis method for generating realistic talking faces with long hairs. Our DEGSTalk employs Deformable Pre-Embedding Gaussian Fields, which dynamically adjust pre-embedding Gaussian primitives using implicit expression coefficients. This enables precise capture of dynamic facial regions and subtle expressions. Additionally, we propose a Dynamic Hair-Preserving Portrait Rendering technique to enhance the realism of long hair motions in the synthesized videos. Results show that DEGSTalk achieves improved realism and synthesis quality compared to existing approaches, particularly in handling complex facial dynamics and hair preservation. RGBT tracking via reliable feature configuration

There is an increasing interest in RGBT tracking recently because of the complementary benefits of RGB and thermal infrared data. However, the reliability of each modality will change over time quite possibly, and the modality with bad reliability will disturb tracking performance. Thus, we propose a novel reliability-based feature configuration approach in the correlation filter framework for robust RGBT tracking. Specifically, we configure a feature set based on RGB, thermal, and RGBT data. To measure the reliabilities of different feature configurations, we equip each feature configuration with a tracker and design a guideline judging whether the tracker is reliable. We use the tracker with the best reliability for *** results show that the proposed tracker achieves promising performance against other RGBT tracking methods.

Low-light Image Enhancement through Learning a Simplified Inverse Rendering Model

It remains to be extremely difficult to capture high quality photographs of low-light scenes. Low light causes the low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) problem which makes the image noisy. Such scenes almost always have the high dynamic range (HDR) problem caused by uneven lighting where a small area surrounding the light source is very bright while the rest of the scene is very dark, making it very difficult to simultaneously obtain high quality signals in both the dark and bright areas. This paper presents a new image restoration method for tackling the problems in low-light scenes. Fundamentally differing from existing approaches, the new method borrows ideas from inverse graphics rendering and re-renders the image with a canonical light source thus correcting the image from first principle. A deep learning based simplified inverse rendering model (SIRM) featuring implicit regularization is first developed for correcting uneven lighting and then an end-to-end convolutional neural network is constructed for reducing noise. Extensive experimental results are presented to demonstrate that the new method outperforms state-of-the-art methods, and is capable of effectively brightening up dark image regions while at the same time preserving details and color consistency. Prostate cancer is a prevalent form of cancer among men, with a high rate of occurrence but relatively lower mortality compared to other types of cancer. Early detection is crucial because it allows for earlier intervention, potentially preventing progression to more severe stages, and improving patient outcomes. However, human diagnosis is time-consuming and inefficient, an autonomous early detection system is essential for saving lives. To address this challenge, we propose a novel MoE-MRIViT framework that uses advanced machine learning and computer vision techniques to analyze MRI images and identify features indicative of prostate cancer. The system processes the data using a vision transformer to extract precise prostate cancer features from MRI scans, and uses attention mechanisms to focus on significant areas. Through the MoE-MRIViT intervention in two stages, we have achieved superior results compared to the state-of-the-art (SOTA) methods. Experimental results demonstrate that our model achieves an impressive accuracy of 94.84%, outperforming the ResNet-101 and the basic ViT models, which achieve accuracies of 89.4% and 92.31%, respectively. © 2024 IEEE.

The connected autonomous vehicles (CAVs) are a key component of intelligent transportation systems (ITS) where vehicles communicate with each other to exchange sensing data from on-board sensors (e.g., high-definition cameras and lidar). For the sake of the category and location privacy leakage of sensing images shared by CAVs and computational inefficiency of privacy-preserving object detection framework in edge computing environment, we propose a lightweight and privacy-preserving detection framework (PPDF) to support secure extraction, classification and detection of image features, and achieve the goal of data transmission and computing security under the collaborative detection process of edge nodes. Particularly, we design a secure clustering prediction protocol of object anchors, a secure object classification and regression protocol, secure object upsampling and secure feature fusion protocols. Finally, PPDF based on edge-cooperation was constructed and two non-collusive edge servers were used to perform PPDF. Theoretical analysis of correctness, security and complexity indicate that PPDF can not only realize correctness of object detection, but also let category and location privacy of images are protected effectively and have excellent accuracy. Actual performance evaluation shows that PPDF can achieve the same detection accuracy as original YOLOv3-SPP model. At the same time, compared with homomorphic encryption and multi-round iterative calculation schemes, PPDF has obvious advantages in terms of computational cost and communication overhead. © 2022 IEEE.
