With the widespread use of escalators in daily life, escalator-related injury factors are threatening public health. To secure escalator system, most of existing studies focus on post hoc statistics and trend to fix these deficiencies to reduce escalator-related potential risks. However, they are not designed for early-stage detection of impending escalator unsafe factors. To solve this problem, this paper proposes an improved Single Shot MultiBox Detector (SSD) algorithm for anomaly detection of passenger posture on escalators. Firstly, we replace the widely used VGG16 backbone of SSD network by simpler MobileNetV2 to accelerate model inference. Secondly, the distance intersection over Union (DIoU) loss function is introduced to further improve performance. Based on the characteristics of IoU and considering the shortcomings of GIoU, DIoU directly regresses the Euclidean distance between the center points of the two boxes to accelerate the convergence. The experimental results show that the improved SSD escalator passenger posture anomaly detection algorithm can efficiently identify the dangerous posture of escalator passengers and start relevant safety protection measures. According to inference of model, the escalator system can be controlled in practice to formulate the corresponding safety protection measures, and improve the safety performance of the escalator operation. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper proposes a straw coverage rate calculation method based on single-image processing. This method uses a convolutional neural network (CNN) to extract features from images of fields covered with straw, classifies the image based on the features, and then uses an image binarization method to distinguish the straw and the land parts in the image and calculate the straw coverage rate based on the proportion of the straw part. This method has been applied in the land classification project in a particular region. These results demonstrate that this method effectively calculates straw coverage rates and can be used in other fields of precision agriculture. © 2023 IEEE.

The surveillance videos captured by cameras deployed in large-scale places can provide help for path planning of crowd evacuation in emergencies. However, most surveillance videos are not allowed to be shared in order to avoid privacy disclosure. Thus, it is difficult to obtain the video data of the whole scenario for path planning which greatly reduces effectiveness of path planning. How to provide global path planning for crowd evacuation while ensuring privacy protection is a challenging problem. To solve this problem, we propose a federated learning based path planning method for crowd evacuation. In this method, the potential field model are introduced into the federated learning framework to provide the privacy protection since only the potential field information is aggregated between the camera terminal and the central server, instead of the surveillance videos. First, we construct the local potential field for the surveillance scene of each camera by extracting the scene information and the crowds information. Second, the central server periodically performs the global potential field information aggregation and integrates these information to plan the optimal global path dynamically for crowd evacuation. Finally, we implemente a simulation platform to simulate the process of crowd movement and visualize the dynamic change of the potential energy field. Experimental results prove that the proposed method can provide privacy-preserving path planning for multi-camera evacuation scenarios. © 2022 IEEE.

Event-driven asynchronous circuits are gaining attention because of their low power consumption and robustness. Among asynchronous circuits, the Bundled data (BD) circuit used by Loihi has attracted attention because it can obtain a similar area as a synchronous circuit. Click circuit is a mainstream BD circuit, but due to the lack of DFT (Design For Test) architecture, the Click-based asynchronous circuit cannot be widely used. This paper proposes a DFT architecture suitable for BD circuits, which can be accomplished using traditional EDA tools rather than developing new ones. This paper verifies the proposed DFT architecture on a five-stage pipeline processor based on the RISC-V instruction set. The result is 99.62% coverage for stuck-at faults, 1.8398% area overhead, and 6.2259% power overhead. © 2022 IEEE.

LSU-NET: LIGHTWEIGHT AUTOMATIC ORGANS SEGMENTATION NETWORK FOR MEDICAL IMAGES

UNet and its variants have widespread applications in medical image segmentation. However, the substantial number of parameters and computational complexity of these models make them less suitable for use in clinical settings with limited computational resources. To address this limitation, we propose a novel Lightweight Shift U-Net (LSU-Net). We integrate the Light Conv Block and the Tokenized Shift Block in a lightweight manner, combining them with a dynamic weight multi-loss design for efficient dynamic weight allocation. The Light Conv Block effectively captures features with a low parameter count by combining standard convolutions with depthwise separable convolutions. The Tokenized Shift Block optimizes feature representation by shifting and capturing deep features through a combination of the Spatial Shift Block and depthwise separable convolutions. Dynamic adjustment of the loss weights at each layer approaches the optimal solution and enhances training stability. We validated LSU-Net on the UWMGI and MSD Colon datasets, and experimental results demonstrate that LSU-Net outperforms most state-of-the-art segmentation architectures. With the continuous urban expansion, the safety of public places has attracted more and more attention. Once an accident occurs and people distrust their surroundings, it will cause congestion, trampling and other events. Individual trust value is particularly important in crowd evacuation. However, it is very difficult to evaluate the individual credibility with existing methods. We propose a blockchain-based crowd-sensing trust management mechanism (B-CSTM) to address this problem. First, we provide a message credibility evaluation mechanism that can evaluate the credibility of messages sent by individuals on spot. Second, we developed a trust calculation method that uses a distributed Evacuation Perception Unit (EPU) to calculate individuals' trust values by perception scores. Finally, we build a blockchain-based trust management mechanism model that uses blockchain to store and query trust values. Through experimental analysis, we visualize the trust results in the evacuation scenario. It is shown that the mechanism is feasible for the management of trust values (collection, calculation and storage, etc.) in crowd evacuation. © 2022 IEEE.

Diffusion models (DMs) have recently gained attention with state-of-the-art performance in text-to-image synthesis. Abiding by the tradition in deep learning, DMs are trained and evaluated on the images with fixed sizes. However, users are demanding for various images with specific sizes and various aspect ratio. This paper focuses on adapting text-to-image diffusion models to handle such variety while maintaining visual fidelity. First we observe that, during the synthesis, lower resolution images suffer from incomplete object portrayal, while higher resolution images exhibit repetitively disordered presentation. Next, we establish a statistical relationship indicating that attention entropy changes with token quantity, suggesting that models aggregate spatial information in proportion to image resolution. The subsequent interpretation on our observations is that objects are incompletely depicted due to limited spatial information for low resolutions, while repetitively disorganized presentation arises from redundant spatial information for high resolutions. From this perspective, we propose a scaling factor to alleviate the change of attention entropy and mitigate the defective pattern observed. Extensive experimental results validate the efficacy of the proposed scaling factor, enabling models to achieve better visual effects, image quality, and text alignment. Notably, these improvements are achieved without additional training or fine-tuning techniques.

Neural Radiance Fields (NeRF) has been widely used in computer vision and graphics, achieving impressive results in novel view synthesis and multi-view 3D reconstruction. However, despite its excellent performance under ideal conditions, NeRF struggles in challenging environments such as hazy, foggy, and underwater scenes, primarily due to the difficulty in decoupling objects from the scattering medium. To mitigate this limitation, we proposed a novel approach for NeRF in scenes with scattering media. Specifically, we leverage pseudo-labels during the early stage of training to guide NeRF in decoupling the densities of objects and the scattering medium, guiding the model toward a more appropriate search space. Furthermore, we introduce a Cyclical Progressive Dimensional Optimization Strategy (CPDOS) that focuses on optimizing a single or a few variables during specific periods. Experimental results demonstrate that our method can effectively simulate hazy and underwater scenes, accurately decouple the scattering medium from objects, estimate atmospheric parameters, and outperform existing methods in novel view synthesis and image restoration tasks. Intellectual property transactions have shown a strong growth momentum in recent years, but the patent transaction market has been plagued by the matching degree of consumers and sellers, resulting in frequent problems such as low patent transformation efficiency and poor transaction quality. This paper proposes a method of recommending patents to consumers by experts to improve the environment of patent transactions. Through the analysis of the past transaction information of the patent, the effective path information of the target is extracted. The graph neural network is used to describe the characteristics and semantics among experts, patents and consumers, and then capture the potential weight among them through the common attention mechanism, and then dynamically integrate them to predict the occurrence of recommendation behavior. The paper makes reasonable use of social information and expert information in the transaction, which significantly improves the rationality and accuracy of expert recommendation. © 2023 IEEE.
