In real-world scenarios, multi-view data comprises heterogeneous features, with each feature corresponding to a specific view. The objective of multi-view semi-supervised classification is to enhance classification performance by leveraging the inherent complementary and consistent information present within diverse views. Nevertheless, many existing frameworks primarily focus on assigning suitable weights to different views while neglecting the importance of consistent information. In this paper, a multi-view semi-supervised classification framework called joint diversity and consistency graph convolutional network (JDC-GCN) is proposed. Firstly, the structure of graph convolutional network is introduced to the multi-view semi-supervised classification, capable of propagating the label information over the topological structure of multi-view data. Secondly, the proposed JDC-GCN captures the complementary and consistent information from multiple views through two indispensable sub-modules, Diversity-GCN and Consistency-GCN, respectively. Finally, the attention mechanism is leveraged to dynamically adjust the weights of various views, allowing us to measure the significance of heterogeneous features and the consistent graph without introducing additional parameters. Comprehensive experiments on eight multi-view datasets are conducted to validate the effectiveness of the JDC-GCN algorithm. Video object segmentation aims to extract 2D object masks by segmenting video frames into multiple objects, which is crucial in various practical applications such as medical imaging, etc.. However, traditional video object segmentation methods produce 2D masks, which are not suitable for 3D scenarios where depth information is essential, such as in robotic grasping, virtual reality, and autonomous driving, etc.. In this paper, we present a comprehensive review of 3D human mesh reconstruction (HMR) as an extension beyond 2D video object segmentation. We begin by reviewing the mainstream video object segmentation methods, then transition from 2D video object segmentation to 3D HMR. We further categorize recent HMR methods based on key characteristics that define this research field, including the type of model input and the use of statistical models. A numerical magnitude aware multi-channel hierarchical encoding network for math word problem solving

Math word problem (MWP) represents a critical research area within reading comprehension, where accurate comprehension of math problem text is crucial for generating math expressions. However, current approaches still grapple with unresolved challenges in grasping the sensitivity of math problem text and delineating distinct roles across various clause types, and enhancing numerical representation. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a Numerical Magnitude Aware Multi-Channel Hierarchical Encoding Network (NMA-MHEA) for math expression generation. Firstly, NMA-MHEA implements a multi-channel hierarchical context encoding module to learn context representations at three different channels: intra-clause channel, inter-clause channel, and context-question interaction channel. NMA-MHEA constructs hierarchical constituent-dependency graphs for different levels of sentences and employs a Hierarchical Graph Attention Neural Network (HGAT) to learn syntactic and semantic information within these graphs at the intra-clause and inter-clause channels. NMA-MHEA then refines context clauses using question information at the context-question interaction channel. Secondly, NMA-MHEA designs a number encoding module to enhance the relative magnitude information among numerical values and type information of numerical values. Experimental results on two public benchmark datasets demonstrate that NMA-MHEA outperforms other state-of-the-art models. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2024.

Towards Adaptive Masked Structural Learning for Graph-Level Clustering

Graph data presents a vast landscape for real-world applications. Current graph-level clustering approaches predominantly utilize graph neural networks to capture the intricate structural information for graph data. However, a significant challenge arises in effectively integrate structural and feature information under the prevalent noise in the real-world scenario. The advent of masking strategies has marked significant strides in boosting model robustness, accommodating incomplete data, and enhancing generalization capabilities. Yet, research attention on leveraging mask strategy for facilitating graph-level clustering is still limited. In this paper, we introduce a novel graph-level clustering method, towards adaptive masked structural learning for graph-level clustering. The method performs adaptive masking through reconstruction loss, and jointly adaptive mask representation learning and clustering in an end-to-end unsupervised framework. The mutual information between maximized the entire graph and substructure representations is also utilized to learn to generate cluster-oriented graph-level representations. Extensive experiments on eight real graph-level benchmark datasets demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed method. © 2013 IEEE.

Strong noise is one of the biggest challenges in controlled-source electromagnetic (CSEM) exploration, which severely affects the quality of the recorded signal. We develop a novel and effective CSEM noise attenuation method that integrates a deep convolutional neural network (DCNN) with a high-quality sounding curve screening mechanism. This method first uses a DCNN to learn the large-scale noise characteristics of CSEM measured data and build a DCNN denoising model for attenuating the noise. Because some impulse noise remains after DCNN denoising, the high-quality sounding curve screening mechanism is innovatively applied to optimize the DCNN denoised data. The core of this method is the smoothness value (SV), which quantitatively evaluates the smoothness of the sounding curve (apparent resistivity curve). In effect, the mechanism segments the overall DCNN denoised data and calculates the corresponding sounding curve and its SV for each segment. The highest-quality sounding curve can be screened out by comparing the SVs of all curves as well as obtaining the highest-quality data segment present in the overall DCNN denoised data. Finally, our method is validated with synthetic and field data, demonstrating its feasibility and effectiveness in attenuating large-scale CSEM noise. The quality of CSEM data, which is heavily affected by noise, is significantly improved after processing by our method. © 2025 Society of Exploration Geophysicists. All rights reserved.

The advancement of the Industry 5.0 in information technology has led to increased interest in integrating edge-cloud cooperation with Internet of Things (IoT) and cyber-physical system (CPS) designs. This integration effectively reduces service delays and provides real-time analysis feedback to physical spaces, attracting attention from both academia and industry. These advanced technologies enhance production system intelligence, their alignment with circular economy principles for promoting sustainability has been overlooked. To address this gap, this article proposes an intelligent sustainability evaluation strategy driven by edge-cloud cooperation, IoT, and CPS. The proposed approach aims to enhance production sustainability and intelligence through circular economy perspectives. It introduces improved gray relation analysis and deep clustering network techniques to extract meaningful insights from diverse indicators within the evaluation system. By analyzing relationships between different equipment and workshops, it provides an analytical method that enhances production efficiency while reducing energy consumption and resource waste. To further validate the proposed method, an illustrative example using a partner company’s production data demonstrates its accuracy. © 2014 IEEE.

Federated Learning (FL) has progressed, providing a distributed mechanism where data need not be consolidated, thereby enhancing the privacy and security of sensitive healthcare data. Recent advancements in multimodal machine learning have empowered the development of accurate and robust AI systems in the medical domain, especially within centralized database systems. Multimodal federated learning (MFL) combines federated learning’s distributed nature with the flexibility to work with various data types. This capability is particularly relevant in medical contexts, where healthcare data can range from electronic health records (EHR) to radiology imaging, genomic data, and wearable device information. The key advantage of MFL in medical settings is the ability to create robust models without centralizing sensitive patient information. However, there are no existent research to comprehensively review the application status of MFL in smart healthcare systems from the modal-centric aspect. Motivated by this, we explore the systematization of knowledge about multimodal federated learning on medical data, find the challenges of this area and related solutions. Slot filling and intent detection are two highly correlated tasks in spoken language understanding (SLU). Recent SLU research attempts to explore zero-shot prompting techniques in large language models to alleviate the data scarcity problem. Nevertheless, the existing prompting work ignores the cross-task interaction information for SLU, which leads to sub-optimal performance. To solve this problem, we present the pioneering work of Cross-task Interactive Prompting (CroPrompt) for SLU, which enables the model to interactively leverage the information exchange across the correlated tasks in SLU. Additionally, we further introduce a multi-task self-consistency mechanism to mitigate the error propagation caused by the intent information injection. We conduct extensive experiments on the standard SLU benchmark and the results reveal that CroPrompt consistently outperforms the existing prompting approaches. In addition, the multi-task self-consistency mechanism can effectively ease the error propagation issue, thereby enhancing the performance. We hope this work can inspire more research on cross-task prompting for SLU. © 2025 IEEE.

In this paper, we investigate reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS)-assisted integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) systems for robust physical layer security (PLS) schemes. Traditionally, eavesdroppers (Eves) typically avoid interacting with the base station, making it challenging to obtain their relevant information, which limits the implementation of PLS. Fortunately, the sensing information obtained by ISAC can contribute to the design of PLS. Therefore, leveraging imperfect sensing estimation and employing dedicated radar signals as artificial noise, we formulate an RIS-assisted joint active and passive beamforming design problem to maximize the sum secrecy rate while satisfying the user’s quality of service constraints, the transmission power constraints, and the sensing signal strength requirements. To make the problem tractable, we first derive the bound for Eve’s channel state information uncertainty region based on security approximations. Subsequently, we employ the S-procedure and the symbolic-deterministic methods to transform the infinite number of inequalities. We then utilize the first-order Taylor expansion, the second-order cone methods, and the successive convex approximation to address the nonconvexity problem, leading to an efficient suboptimal solution obtained by an iterative algorithm. Finally, the simulation results demonstrate the significant potential of the sensing function in enhancing security and the effectiveness of the proposed robust scheme in flexibly balancing communication and sensing quality. © 2002-2012 IEEE.
