This paper investigates an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-assisted semantic communication network. The energy-limited ground users (GUs) provide semantic services to periodically generated raw data and a UAV relays the extracted semantic information to a base station (BS). Semantic extraction enhances data responsiveness and reduces the age-of-information (AoI) by transmitting only the most essential information. However, more complex semantic extraction increases energy consumption, making it easier for the GUs to deplete their energy. Therefore, we introduce a novel energy-efficient AoI (EAoI) metric to capture both information freshness and energy consumption of the GUs. We formulate a time-averaged EAoI minimization problem by jointly optimizing the GUs' scheduling, pre-extraction strategy, semantic control, computing resource allocation, and the UAV's trajectory. We further propose a semantic-aware joint pre-extraction and trajectory planning (Sem-JPT) algorithm to decompose the complex optimization problem into three subproblems, which are solved by a series of approximation methods. Simulation results demonstrate that semantic communication can reduce the overall EAoI by more than 18% compared with conventional bit-based communication. Moreover, the proposed Sem-JPT algorithm can maintain information freshness and prolong the GUs' lifetimes, outperforming existing baselines.

In recent years, research has illuminated the potency of implicit data processing in enhancing user preferences. Nevertheless, barriers remain in breaking through the constraints of implicit information. This study aims to bridge this gap by firstly constructing a triangular stable node network model, tailored to manage implicit information with precision. Recognizing the challenge of pinpointing novel structures within large-scale graphs, we propose SLTSNN-a triangular stable node network based on self-supervised learning for personalized prediction. SLTSNN innovates by maximizing mutual information between graph-level and patch-level representations, while augmenting graph representations through extended enhanced representations. Additionally, it incorporates triangular data associations and introduces a triangular allocation attention network, which emphasizes strongly correlated preference features among similar users. Furthermore, SLTSNN employs contrastive learning to maximize mutual information between graph vectors and hidden representations, distinguishing between high-order global and local representations. The model's effectiveness in enhancing user preferences and capturing new graph structures is evidenced by its performance on hit rate and normalized discounted cumulative gain metrics across three datasets. © 2025 IEEE.

Fence Theorem: Towards Dual-Objective Semantic-Structure Isolation in Preprocessing Phase for 3D Anomaly Detection

3D anomaly detection (AD) is prominent but difficult due to lacking a unified theoretical foundation for preprocessing design. We establish the Fence Theorem, formalizing preprocessing as a dual-objective semantic isolator: (1) mitigating cross-semantic interference to the greatest extent feasible and (2) confining anomaly judgements to aligned semantic spaces wherever viable, thereby establishing intra-semantic comparability. Any preprocessing approach achieves this goal through a two-stage process of Semantic-Division and Spatial-Constraints stage. Through systematic deconstruction, we theoretically and experimentally subsume existing preprocessing methods under this theorem via tripartite evidence: qualitative analyses, quantitative studies, and mathematical proofs. Guided by the Fence Theorem, we implement Patch3D, consisting of Patch-Cutting and Patch-Matching modules, to segment semantic spaces and consolidate similar ones while independently modeling normal features within each space. Experiments on Anomaly-ShapeNet and Real3D-AD with different settings demonstrate that progressively finer-grained semantic alignment in preprocessing directly enhances point-level AD accuracy, providing inverse validation of the theorem’s causal logic. RGS-Sketch: An Accurate, Invertible, and Mergeable Sketch for Online Super Spreader Detection in High-Speed data Streams

Super spreader detection in high-speed data streams is crucial for numerous applications. Although many methods have emerged, existing works can hardly concurrently achieve high memory efficiency, support online detection, enable merging data from different measurement points/periods, and offer invertibility. This makes them unable to satisfy flexible application requirements. This paper proposes RGS-Sketch, a novel sketch designed to address this problem. The core of RGS-Sketch lies in a new mergeable memory sharing design called register group sharing. This design organizes registers into groups as basic memory sharing units, accommodating the high skewness of real-world data streams and offering high memory efficiency. Besides, it enables online detection through the real-time acquisition of a group's state, which also facilitates invertibility. To enhance detection accuracy further, we propose a limited register update strategy. It blocks small flows from updating registers, thereby reducing memory overhead and estimation noises. Extensive experimental results based on four real-world datasets show that RGS-Sketch significantly outperforms the most accurate baselines in accuracy while maintaining a high throughput. Specifically, it improves the F1 scores by up to 0.643 for measurements at a single point/period and up to 0.472 across multiple points/periods.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is rapidly permeating all aspects of human life, involving a network of devices that share sensitive data. A notable application is the e-healthcare systems, which employ connected sensors, medical servers, and wearable devices. However, the public nature of communication in e-healthcare systems poses challenges such as security, privacy, and authentication of participating entities. Recently, many authentication protocols have been introduced to address these challenges. However, most of these protocols remain vulnerable to various security attacks, including device or medical server impersonation, denial of service, physical or cloning, and de-synchronization attacks. Therefore, we introduce an authenticated key-management protocol utilizing hash functions and Cipher-Block Chaining-Advanced Encryption Standard encryption (CBC-AES) encryption. The proposed protocol also employs the Physical Unclonable Function (PUF), which makes it more robust and efficient in resisting physical or cloning attacks. Additionally, the proposed scheme resists various security threats, including impersonation, session key leakage, ephemeral secret leakage, and de-synchronization attacks. We analyze the scheme’s security and reliability through formal and informal analysis. The informal analysis demonstrates that the scheme encompasses crucial security features, while the formal analysis substantiates. Moreover, performance analysis of the proposed protocol with various competing results indicates that our protocol achieves an average reduction in communication and computation overheads by 36.03.% and 41.79%, respectively. © 2014 IEEE.

Visual Place Recognition (VPR) is aimed at predicting the location of a query image by referencing a database of geotagged images. For VPR task, often fewer discriminative local regions in an image produce important effects while mundane background regions do not contribute or even cause perceptual aliasing because of easy overlap. However, existing methods lack precisely modeling and full exploitation of these discriminative regions. In this paper, we propose the Focus on Local (FoL) approach to stimulate the performance of image retrieval and re-ranking in VPR simultaneously by mining and exploiting reliable discriminative local regions in images and introducing pseudo-correlation supervision. First, we design two losses, Extraction-Aggregation Spatial Alignment Loss (SAL) and Foreground-Background Contrast Enhancement Loss (CEL), to explicitly model reliable discriminative local regions and use them to guide the generation of global representations and efficient re-ranking. Second, we introduce a weakly-supervised local feature training strategy based on pseudo-correspondences obtained from aggregating global features to alleviate the lack of local correspondences ground truth for the VPR task. Third, we suggest an efficient re-ranking pipeline that is efficiently and precisely based on discriminative region guidance. Finally, experimental results show that our FoL achieves the state-of-the-art on multiple VPR benchmarks in both image retrieval and re-ranking stages and also significantly outperforms existing two-stage VPR methods in terms of computational efficiency. Surface reconstruction of dynamic scenes from single view videos is a challenging task due to the highly ill-posed and under-constrained nature. Existing single view reconstruction methods suffer from severe quality issues, such as surface distortion and mesh adherison. In this paper, we propose an efficient dynamic representation network, PD-SDF, which consists of a 4D motion field and a 3D geometry field. The explicit disentanglement of motion and geometry based on planar factorization guarantees the mesh consistency across frames. Specifically, to address the mesh adhesion problem, we design a depth-guided sampling strategy to focus on optimizing the SDF field near the object surface. Due to insufficient geometric cues, we design various regularization strategies to constrain smoothness and topological correcness of the scene geometry. Extensive experiments show that our method outperforms existing methods in both appearance and geometry reconstruction. The project page: https://***/

In recent years, against the backdrop of smart grids, vehicle-to-grid (V2G) interaction has become a hot topic. With the increasing number of new energy vehicles, handling massive amounts of electricity transaction data has become an urgent problem in need of resolution. Ensuring the security of the vast quantities of electricity transaction data has emerged as a significant challenge. Therefore, two data aggregation schemes are proposed in this paper, both supporting batch verification and privacy protection in centralized and distributed scenarios, respectively. Firstly, an improved Paillier cryptosystem is utilized to achieve lightweight encryption in the proposed schemes. In addition, a novel distributed data aggregation structure that combines a large number of geographically distributed fog nodes with centralized cloud servers is introduced. This structure not only meets the requirements of lightweight encryption and resistance against single point failures but also reduces the communication complexity of distributed data aggregation to O(n). According to the security proofs and experimental analysis, it can be demonstrated that both proposed schemes are effective and secure, meeting the lightweight requirements of modern smart grid systems. © 2025 IEEE. Multimodal dialogue emotion recognition integrates data from multiple modalities to accurately identify emotional states in conversations. However, differences in expression and information density across modalities complicate the fusion of features. Traditional methods may introduce redundant information from other utterances, reducing the accuracy of emotion recognition. Existing one-hot labels often fail to capture the full range of emotional expressions, leading to biased results. To address these issues, we propose a model that fuses different modalities within the same utterance to avoid redundancy. It employs a progressive classification process, refining emotion recognition from coarse to fine granularity. Additionally, we use emotion polarity probabilities as weights for fine-grained classification and introduce a multimodal information-rich label that considers both the data and their interactions. Experiments on IEMOCAP and MELD datasets demonstrate the model’s effectiveness, significantly improving dialog emotion recognition accuracy. Our code is available at https://***/r/LOCG-188E.

Asymptotic solution of a wide moving jam to a class of higher-order viscous traffic flow models

The boundary-layer method is used to study a wide moving jam to a class of higher-order viscous models. The equations for characteristic parameters are derived to determine the asymptotic solution. The sufficient and essential conditions for the wide moving jam formation are discussed in detail, respectively, and then used to prove or disprove the existence of the wide moving jam solutions to many well-known higher-order models. It is shown that the numerical results agree with the analytical results.
