dual attention autoencoder for all-weather outdoor lighting estimation

Accurate outdoor illumination estimation is not easy due to extremely complicated sky appearance and the mutual interference of the sun and sky. In view of these challenges, we present a new deep approach for the estimation of all-weather outdoor illumination. The key to our approach is a novel dual attention autoencoder(dAA) with two independent branches to compress the sun and sky lighting information from an input Hdr panorama, respectively. This enables more accurate lighting estimation as evidenced by our experiments since the mutual interference between the sun and sky can be precluded effectively. In dAA,we design the adaptive feature pyramid and the attention module to promote its accuracy in *** further develop a sun-sky predictor, a masked network, to learn the sun and sky lighting conditions from an Fo V-limited image. Comprehensive qualitative and quantitative experiments verify the effectiveness of our proposed approach and show its superiority over the state of the arts.

The AT&T Network Systems Silver Bullet Project, launched in August 1990, represents a major breakthrough in software engineering, It optimizes and accelerates the software development process by incrementally improving business, organizational, and technical processes used by the Operations Systems (OS) Business Unit. In July 1991 OS opened the Advanced software Construction center (ASCC) to define and implement an organizational and business model based on the Silver Bullet processes and to expose the model to the stresses of developing products for OS, Since then, the ASCC has developed more than 14 products, achieved International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001 certification, and reduced its average product interval from 25 to 15 weeks. It has also been evaluated as one of the top three software organizations in AT&T, based on software process assessments, All this was achieved while keeping its costs one-third lower than the rest of the business unit, The application of the Silver Bullet processes to the OneOS Change Program-an AT&T initiative to create an integrated set of OS assets that can be delivered as an integrated product offering-illustrates the applicability of these processes to larger, more complex systems and organizations, This paper traces the evolution of the ASCC, describes how it operates today, and provides current measures of the interval and quality of ASCC software development.

A new class of three-variable orthogonal polynomials and their recurrences relations

A new class of three-variable orthogonal polynomials, defined as eigenfunctions of a second order PdE operator, is studied. These polynomials are orthogonal over a curved tetrahedron region, which can be seen as a mapping from a traditional tetrahedron, and can be taken as an extension of the 2-d Steiner domain. The polynomials can be viewed as Jacobi polynomials on such a domain. Three-term relations are derived explicitly. The number of the individual terms, involved in the recurrences relations, are shown to be independent on the total degree of the polynomials. The numbers now are determined to be five and seven, with respect to two conjugate variables z, $ \bar z $ and a real variable r, respectively. Three examples are discussed in details, which can be regarded as the analogues of the Chebyshev polynomials of the first and the second kinds, and Legendre polynomials.

Personalized Service System Based on Hybrid Filtering for digital Library

Personalized service systems are an effective way to help users obtain recommendations for unseen items, within the enormous volume of information available based on their preferences. The most commonly used personalized service system methods are collaborative filtering, content-based filtering, and hybrid filtering. Unfortunately, each method has its drawbacks. This paper proposes a new method which unified partition-based collaborative filtering and meta-information filtering. In partition-based collaborative filtering the user-item rating matrix can be partitioned into low-dimensional dense matrices using a matrix clustering algorithm. recommendations are generated based on these low-dimensional matrices. Additionally, the very low ratings problem can be solved using meta-information filtering. The unified method is applied to a digital resource management system. The experimental results show the high efficiency and good performance of the new approach.

In this paper some factors affecting the performance of numerical parallel computing are analyzed. For a distributed parallel computer system, it includes the effective library utilization, parallel algorithm design, and selection of message passing functions. For a shared memory multiprocessor system, the affect of the parallel compiler is discussed. From an analysis and experiment of parallel computing of linear algebra problems, the above mentioned facts are found to be very important in improving the performance of numerical parallel computation. The scalability of a parallel program is also discussed. The numerical testing is performed on dawning 1000, dawning 2000, Sr2201, T3E and Power Challenge. © 2000 IEEE.

In the context of smart cities, real-time vehicle speed detection is a research area that can be examined under the categories of traditional and hybrid methods. Traditional methods encompass existing radar and Lidar studies, while hybrid methods can be explored within the framework of artificial intelligence-supported systems. In this study, we propose a hybrid method that combines various vehicle speed detection techniques available in the literature. Our proposed method for determining road capacity and individual vehicle speeds in smart cities comprises three stages. In the first stage, we employ the YOLOv7 algorithm for vehicle detection, and in the second stage, we use the Centroid Tracker for tracking the detected vehicles. In the final stage, we calculate the displacement of each tracked vehicle within the frame through depth estimation, utilizing the Adabins algorithm. Additionally, we apply the 'Triangle Method' from the literature to find the displacement of each tracked vehicle one second after depth estimation. To evaluate our approach, we conducted sequential experiments using a data set of 6000 images, which were subdivided into training (85%), validation (10%), and testing (5%) sets. Our trained model recognizes two classes: 'car' and 'truck,' achieving precision rates exceeding 90% for each class. © 2023 IEEE.

In this study, an alternative data sampling method is proposed for deep learning models. In the suggested method, 3-stage sampling is done by using sequential frames. In the sampling process, a 5-minute 30 fps video is re-sampled to 5 fps and a total of 1500 frames are obtained. Optical flow and random sampling operations are performed sequentially on the frames obtained. In optical flow methods, 4 different thresholds are used while determining the magnitude vector. When performing random sampling, a total of 4 different data sets were created with 3 different sample rates. As a result of experiments with different sample rates and thresholds, a maximum of 1459 and a minimum of 757 frames are obtained from 1500 frames. The number of data obtained for each sub-data set is different. Obtained sub-data sets can be used for model generalization according to the needs of the environment in which the deep learning model will be used. To evaluate the performance of a deep learning model from different perspectives, experiments were carried out with the obtained data sets. As a result of the experiments, it was seen that the learning model cannot be directly associated with the number of data. According to different evaluation metrics, it has been evaluated which data set is more suitable for various environments. © 2023 IEEE.

Accurate segmentation of pulmonary structures is crucial in clinical diagnosis, disease study, and treatment planning. Significant progress has been made in deep learning-based segmentation techniques, but most require much labeled data for training. Consequently, developing precise segmentation methods that demand fewer labeled datasets is paramount in medical image analysis. The emergence of pre-trained vision-language foundation models, such as CLIP, recently opened the door for universal computer vision tasks. Exploiting the generalization ability of these pre-trained foundation models on downstream tasks, such as segmentation, leads to unexpected performance with a relatively small amount of labeled data. However, exploring these models for pulmonary artery-vein segmentation is still limited. This paper proposes a novel framework called Language-guided self-adaptive Cross-Attention Fusion Framework. Our method adopts pre-trained CLIP as a strong feature extractor for generating the segmentation of 3d CT scans, while adaptively aggregating the cross-modality of text and image representations. We propose a s pecially designed adapter module to fine-tune pre-trained CLIP with a self-adaptive learning strategy to effectively fuse the two modalities of embeddings. We extensively validate our method on a local dataset, which is the largest pulmonary artery-vein CT dataset to date and consists of 718 labeled data in total. The experiments show that our method outperformed other state-of-the-art methods by a large margin. Our data and code will be made publicly available upon acceptance. Copyright © 2025, The Authors. In this study, various experiments were carried out for fire and smoke detection by using YOLOv5 and YOLOv7 pre-trained weights. As a result of the experiments, the performances of the models were evaluated separately and compared with each other. A total of 7 weights, including small, medium and large, were used for pre-trained models. In the experiments with YOLOv5, the model with the best mAP.5 score was yolov5m with 0.79, while the model with the best mAP.5 score in the YOLOv7 models was yolov7 with 0.78. Since the YOLOv7 model performed worse than expected, a hyper-parameter search was performed for yolov7 using Genetic Algorithm (GA). After hyper-parameter search with yolov7, the precision and mAP.5 value of the model increased by 0.01, while the recall value increased by 0.02. It has been observed that tuned hyper-parameters strong claim the default hyper-parameters for fire-smoke detection. © 2023 IEEE.
