Liver cancer is one of the most common causes of death, and cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) is the second most common type, usually treated with surgical resection;however, the resectable area is often small, leading to high recurrence. Balloon catheter insertion has been used to alleviate primary CCA symptoms. However, current drug-eluting balloon catheters are unable to provide continuous drug release, resulting in short-term effects and insufficient tumor suppression. Therefore, drug delivery systems and mucoadhesive polymers in drug-eluting balloon catheters have been proposed as alternatives. In this study, we developed paclitaxel (PTX)-loaded, poloxamer-stabilized PLA microparticles (PTX@PPMP) with high drug-loading capacity. We then created a PTX@PPMP-coated balloon catheter using mucoadhesive chitosan (PBCC) through spraying. PTX@PPMP particles were micron sized (1000–1400 nm), exhibited good colloidal stability, and enabled sustained pH-dependent drug release. In CCA cancer cell lines, PPMP did not exhibit significant cytotoxicity, and PTX@PPMP demonstrated an anticancer effect comparable to PTX, even though it had a 16-fold lower efficacy compared to PTX dose. Furthermore, in a xenograft model, the PBCC membrane dose-dependently inhibited the tumor volume without causing acute toxicity. These results indicate that the PBCC, as a novel drug-coated balloon catheter, can improve CCA chemotherapy and have further roles in balloon catheters applications. © 2025 The Korean Society of Industrial and engineering Chemistry

Open-world object detection (OWOd), as a more general and challenging goal, requires the model trained from data on known objects to detect both known and unknown objects and incrementally learn to identify these unknown objects. The existing works which employ standard detection framework and fixed pseudo-labelling mechanism $(PLM)$ have the following problems: (i) The inclusion of detecting unknown objects substantially reduces the model's ability to detect known ones. (ii) The $PLM$ does not adequately utilize the priori knowledge of inputs. (iii) The fixed selection manner of $PLM$ cannot guarantee that the model is trained in the right direction. We observe that humans subconsciously prefer to focus on all foreground objects and then identify each one in detail, rather than localize and identify a single object simultaneously, for alleviating the confusion. This motivates us to propose a novel solution called CAT: LoCalization and IdentificAtion Cascade detection Transformer which decouples the detection process via the shared decoder in the cascade decoding way. In the meanwhile, we propose the self-adaptive pseudo-labelling mechanism which combines the model-driven with input-driven $PLM$ and self-adaptively generates robust pseudo-labels for unknown objects, significantly improving the ability of CAT to retrieve unknown objects. Experiments on two benchmarks, i.e., MS-COCO and PASCAL VOC, show that our model outperforms the state-of-the-art methods. The code is publicly available at https://***/xiaomabufei/CAT.

Numerous adaptive protection schemes (APS) have been developed to tackle the issue of changing fault current magnitudes and directions in a reconfigurable network. System-wide communication systems are the primary enablers in these proposed APS. However, these systems require expensive infrastructure and are prone to cyberattacks and communication errors. Therefore, a subclass of studies has proposed decentralized schemes to eliminate the downsides of communicative systems. However, these studies rely on fault parameters to determine the correct relay settings in their proposed APS and applies for a limited number of network topologies only. In contrast, this paper combines the use of local load flow information and the customary fault parameters to realize a comms-less adaptive protection scheme that maintains OCr coordination after service restoration in highly reconfigurable network topologies. relay settings are selected from setting groups optimized using k-means clustering and linear programming. A locally deployed artificial neural network determines the appropriate setting group by referring to the fault location estimates and load flow measurements. The scheme produced promising results in most overcurrent relay settings selections when demonstrated on the IEEE 33-bus test distribution system under various fault and loading conditions. © 2023, The Authors. Gold (Au) nano-island arrays were deposited on the glass substrate to fabricate surface-enhanced raman scattering (SErS) substrates by in-situ thermal evaporation (deposited and annealed samples at the same time). The optimal SErS intensity deposited by various thicknesses and in-situ annealing temperatures of Au nano-island arrays would be investigated. The biomolecules (adenine) were dropped on the well-designed SErS substrate for precise and quantitative SErS detection. The characterization of Au nano-island arrays SErS substrate would be evaluated by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and raman spectroscopy. The results showed that the optimal deposition thickness and annealing temperature of Au nano-island arrays SErS substrate is about 14 nm and 200 °C respectively, which can construct the smallest interparticle spacing (W)/ particle diameter (d) ratio and the lowest reflection (%) and transmittance (%) to form the strongest SErS intensity. Moreover, finite-difference time-domain (FdTd) simulation of the electromagnetic field distributions on Au nano-island arrays displays the similar trend with the experimental results. The 14 nm deposition with 200 °C in-situ annealing temperature would display the highest density of hot-spots by FdTd simulation. The reproducible Au nano-island arrays SErS substrates with tunable surface roughness, W/d ratio, and lower reflection and transmittance show promising potential for SErS detection of biomolecules, bacteria, and viruses. © 2023

Pseudorange multipath error is one of the main error sources of Beidou Navigation Satellite System (BdS), all precise applications which use code measurements are severely affected. In view of the current situation that BdS lacks comprehensive assessment of multipath error characteristics, this paper analyzes time and frequency domain characteristics of multipath error and its relationship with elevation angle, following with its performance under different signal modulation systems, correlator intervals and rF bandwidths. By way of tri-frequency pseudorange and carrier phase combination method, the results demonstrate that three types (MEO, GEO, IGSO) of satellites’ multipath error all reflect low frequency characteristics, and the multipath error elevation-dependence of BdS-3 MEO satellites is significantly lower than that of BdS-2. Compared with signal B1I with 4 M modulating bandwidth, the multipath error fluctuation of B2I, B3I and B2a (single sideband reception) with 10 M bandwidth are smaller. For the new system broadband modulation system, signal using TMBOC(6, 1, 4/33) modulating method has better anti-multipath performance than BOC(1, 1). In addition, increasing rF bandwidth or reducing correlator interval can both impair multipath error. Here， we aimed to study the changes in proteome of golden pompano fillets during post-mortem storage. TMT-labeled quantitative proteomic strategy was applied to investigate the relationships between protein changes and quality characteristics of modified atmosphere packaging （MAP） fillets during superchilling （-3 ℃） storage. Scanning electron microscopy was used to show that the muscle histology microstructure of fillets was damaged to varying degrees， and low-field nuclear magnetic resonance was used to find that the immobile water and free water in the muscle of fillets changed significantly. Total sulfhydryl content， TCA-soluble peptides and Ca2+-ATPase activity also showed that the fillet protein had a deterioration by oxidation and denaturation. The Fresh （FS）， MAP， and air packaging （AP） groups were set. Total of 150 proteins were identified as differential abundant proteins （dAPs） in MAP/FS， while 209 dAPs were in AP/FS group. The KEGG pathway analysis indicated that most dAPs were involved in binding proteins and protein turnover. Correlation analysis found that 52 dAPs were correlated with quality traits. Among them， 8 highly correlated dAPs are expected to be used as potential quality markers for protein oxidation and water-holding capacity. These results provide a further understanding of the muscle deterioration mechanism of packaging golden pompano fillets during superchilling.

Continuous Facilitated Transport Pathway Constructed by In-Situ Interlinkage of Mobile Aniline with Fixed Carriers distributing Along Nanofibers for Carbon Capture

Facilitated transport membrane with fixed and mobile carriers is essential yet challenging to improve the CO2 capture. Herein, a facilitated transport membrane with continuous pathway was constructed by the in-situ interlinkage of mobile aniline with the fixed carriers distributing along electrospun polyacrylonitrile nanofibers (HPAN). In this membrane, fixed amine carriers are introduced through the alkalinous hydrolysis of PAN fibers, and are distributed along the HPAN fibers to construct a long-range continuous transport pathway for CO2. The mobile aniline carriers are introduced into the interfibrous voids of the HPAN nanofibers mat (NFM) by in-situ polymerization of PEGdA, which interlink the fixed amine carriers to achieve the facilitated transport pathway continuous completely. And the fixed amine and mobile aniline carriers are demonstrated co-existing in the An/PEO@HPAN membrane (NFCM) by the FTIr and XPS results. Meanwhile, the Xrd and dSC results indicate that the introduction of aniline increases the free volume of PEO matrix, which is beneficial for enhancing CO2 permeation. Therefore, the 10 wt.% An/PEO@HPAN-3h NFCM present 90.81% and 13.15% increases in CO2 permeability and CO2/N2 selectivity under mixed gas at 0.3 MPa in contrast with the membrane without mobile aniline carriers. Under mixed gas conditions, this NFCM exhibits CO2 permeability of 202.93 Barrer and CO2/N2 selectivity of 83.89 at 0.1 MPa, reaching the 2019 Mckeown upper bound. © 2023, The Authors. Purpose: To improve the reliability and performance of Large Language Models (LLMs) in extracting structured data from radiology reports, particularly in domains with complex and non-English texts (e.g., Hebrew), by incorporating agent-based uncertainty-awareness method to achieve trustworthy predictions in medical applications. Materials and Methods: This retrospective study analyzed 9,683 Hebrew radiology reports from Crohn’s disease patients (2010–2023) across three medical centers. A subset of 512 reports was manually annotated for six gastrointestinal organs and 15 pathological findings, while the remaining data was automatically annotated using the HSMP-BErT model. Structured data extraction used Llama 3.1 (Llama 3-8b-instruct), an open-source LLM, with Bayesian Prompt Ensembles (BayesPE) leveraging six semantically equivalent prompts for uncertainty estimation. An Agent-Based decision Model synthesized multiple prompt outputs into five confidence levels for calibrated uncertainty, compared against three entropy-based models. Performance was assessed via accuracy, F1 score, precision, recall, and Cohen’s Kappa, both before and after filtering high-uncertainty cases. results: The agent-based model outperformed the baseline across all metrics, achieving an F1 score of 0.3967, recall of 0.6437, and Cohen’s Kappa of 0.3006. After filtering high uncertainty cases (≥ 0.5), the F1 score increased to 0.4787 and Kappa to 0.4258. Uncertainty histograms showed clear separation between correct and incorrect predictions, with the agent-based model exhibiting the best-calibrated uncertainty predictions. Conclusion: Incorporating uncertainty-aware prompt ensembles and an agent-based decision model significantly enhances the performance and reliability of LLMs in structured data extraction from radiology reports, offering a calibrated and interpretable approach for high-stakes medical applications. © 2025, CC BY-NC-Nd.

The AC breakdown strength of epoxy/TiO 2 nanocomposites (NC) with agglomerate sizes smaller than 50 nm is higher than that of unfilled epoxy. However, the mechanism responsible for this breakdown strength enhancement has not been clarified. Observing the electroluminescence (EL) of these materials may provide insight into insulation deterioration in the early stages. This study investigated the EL characteristics of unfilled epoxy and NC to clarify the mechanism for the enhancement of the breakdown strength. We fabricated NCs with controlled agglomerate sizes using centrifugation. The EL of NC was measured under an AC ramp electric field. The number of EL pulses of the NC is found to be less than that of the unfilled epoxy. The EL inception and extinction electric fields of the NC are higher than those of the unfilled epoxy. These results indicate that the dispersed nanoparticles suppress EL generation.

Organic and composite thermoelectric(TE)materials have witnessed explosive developments in recent *** strategy of their flexible devices is vital to achieve high performance and suit various application ***,we propose a design strategy of annular flexible TE devices with integrated-module architecture,where the independent modules made up of alternatively connected p-n couples are connected in series,and then rounded head-to-tail into annular *** achieved devices can not only save plenty of space owing to their highly integrated structure design,but also be directly mounted on cylindrical objects(like pipes)to suit versatile *** importantly,the annular TE devices display excellent performances,superior to most previous work and the traditional serial single-layer film *** example,the annular device with eight modules consisting of three p-n couples reveals an output power of 12.37μW at a temperature gradient of 18 K,much higher than that of the corresponding single-layer film structure(1.74μW).The integration process is simple and easy to scale *** architecture design strategy will greatly speed up the TE applications and benefit the research of organic and composite TE materials.
