A new type electro-hydraulic variable valve actuation (VVA) system is developed to realize homogeneous charge compression ignition (HCCI) combustion with different exhaust gas recirculation (EGr) strategies on a low speed single cylinderresearch engine. Power supply pressures and hydraulic piston geometries of the VVA system were firstly determined. Main orifice diameters for fluid charge anddischarge were numerically studied with AMEsim software to figure out their optimal values. A damper system and a multi-discharge-orifice mechanism were designed to provide better solutions for actuator braking and for valve seating velocity reduction, respectively. Bench tests indicated that this system was capable to achieve flexible valve motions, such as variable valve timing, duration and lift, with dramatically improved valve lift overshoot and effectively reduced valve seating velocity at the full range of research engine speed. Experiment results revealed that this VVA system could be used to realize robust HCCI combustion by means of different EGr strategies.

To solve the rubber tearing problem at the rubber-metal interface of some vehicle engine rubber mount, the mount's finite element (FE) model was built. The simulation was carried out by ABAQUS. Material constants were gained from stress-strain test data. CATIA and Hypermesh were also appliedduring modeling process. The simulationresults were consistent well with the test data on vertical stiffness. The results show that: most rubber stress extrema appear nearrubber-metal interfaces; especially stress-raisers were at corners of supporting faces. Various improved structures of the mount model were carried out. It's found that increasing taper angle enhances the strength of rubber mount, while thickness influences its strength, too. The scheme with better stress state as well as meeting the stiffness and layout requirements was choozen as resolution. It has certain reference significance forresearch anddevelopment of the same kindrubber mount.

Lightning is a destructive natural phenomenon. The interaction of lightning with an aircraft brings out intense current on aircraft surface and induces peak current in the onboard wire harness, which can cause damage or malfunction to critical electronic equipment, thus compromising the flight safety. This article analyzes the characteristic of direct lightning strike based on the MIL-STd-464A standard and simulates the surface current density, electric field strength and induced current in cable harness using CST MICrOSTrIPES (CST MS). The simulationresult shows that the aluminum aircraft skin can provide a good protection against lightning.

The tests date to characterize the rubber material constants as well as the hyperelastic material stability is discussed. The rubber material of engine mount is analyzed based on different forms of strain energy potentials using finite element analysis software ABAQUS. The method of using test data to calibrate material coefficients is obtained. Both of the hyperelastic constitutive law and the viscoelasticity constitutive law of rubber material are used in the dynamic analysis. The simulation of the rubber mount static anddynamic characteristic agrees well with experimental results.

This article analyses a novel 4-arm spiral antenna operating in the 2nd mode. The CST MICrOWAVE STUdIO(r) (CST MWS) is extensively used to study effects of various antenna parameters. Good performance over four octave bandwidth is achieved in terms of angular phase linearity,axial ratio,and Wobble on wave (WOW). The total cumulative phase is 720 degrees for mode 2 pattern at the assigned elevation. Phase linearity over the entire bandwidth is well maintained. The standarddeviation of phase is controlled within design requirement.

The algorithm tried to find whether there is intersection between the radial initiating from the point and the triangle by judging whether the point is inside a tetrahedron. In This paper,a general comparison is presented between time-domain and frequency-domain simulation schemes of phased arrays.A series of vivaldi arrays are simulated with Finite Integral Time-domain(FITd) and frequency-domain finite element method (FEM)Interms of its far field characteristic like radiation pattern and gain. Three finite arrays of 10 by 10,20 by 20,and 30 by 30 are simulated using FITd. The results are compared with that of the same arrays by linear combination of a unit Vivaidi antenna simulated with FEM. It is concluded that for small arrays time domain is more accurate while for large ones frequency domain method is more superiorInterms of computer time and memory.
