Anderson:has a bachelor of science degree in environmental engineering from Florida Technological University and a master's degree in environmental engineering from the University of Central Florida. He is a graduate of the Naval Sea Systems Command's Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Program. Mr. Anderson was instrumental in introducing the collective protection system (CPS) in the U.S. Navy developing the initial forward-fit package for the USS Gunston Hall and the engineering change proposal (ECP) for the USS Wasp. In 1990 he joined the Human Systems Integration (HSI) Division (SEA 55W5) where he was task leader for auxiliary ships. He is currently the HSI manager for the future technology variant of the SeaLift ship and the future carrier. Association of Scientists and Engineers 33rdAnnual Technical Symposium 26 April 1996. Fred R. He received his B.S. degree in civil engineering from the University of Kuwait in 1980. He completed both his M.S. (1981) and Ph.D. (1983) in civil engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Dr. Ayyub has an extensive background in risk-based analysis and design simulation and construction engineering. He is engaged in research work involving structural reliability bridges marine structures and mathematical modeling using the theories of probability statistics and fuzzy sets. His research work is sponsored by the National Transportation Safety Board the National Science Foundation the U.S. Coast Guard the State of Maryland and the University of Maryland. Dr. Ayyub is a member of ASNE the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) the American Concrete Institute (ACI) the Committee on Forensic Engineering of ASCE and the Committee on Structural Safety of ACI. He is the author of more than three dozen publications in national and international journals conference proceedings and reports. Dr. Ayyub received the ASNE “Jimmie” Hamilton Award for 1985 and the ASCE “Outstanding Research Oriented Paper” in the Journal of Water Resources Planning and Management for 1987. Gregory J. White:is an associate professor of naval architecture at the U.S. Naval Academy. He received his B.S. degree in engineering mechanics from Vanderbilt University in 1975 an M.E. degree in naval architecture from the University of California Berkeley in 1981 and a Ph.D. in civil engineering (structures) from the University of Maryland in 1986. He has been a Behavioral Scientist in industry and government since 1960 working on command and control systems and simulations for the Strategic Air Command Job Corps Information Management System Permissive Action Link System Helicopter Attack System Riverine Warfare Systems Manpower Simulation Modeling and Facility Maintenance and Manpower Utilization. He has been employed at the Navy Personnel Research and Development Center formerly the Navy Personnel Research Laboratory since 1967 and has presented papers and participated in numerous international and national symposia. At the present time Mr. Schwartz is the principal investigator of the Facilities Maintenance Demonstration Study being conducted at David W. Taylor Naval Ship Research and Development Center. Mr. James L. Cordergraduated from the U. S. Naval Academy in 1958 and received his MS degree in Engineering Science in 1964 from The George Washington University. He served aboard a Destroyer and instructed in the Engineering Department U. S. Naval Academy until 1964. Since then he has been employed at the David W. Taylor Naval Ship Research and Development Center where he was the Program Manager for the Shipboard Manning and Automation Program until September 1977 and currently is assigned to DTNSRDC Annapolis Md. Mr. Corder who received a Letter of Commendation from the Assistant Secretary of the Navy (R&D) for his work performed while assigned on temporary additional duty at the Navy Research and Development Unit Vietnam in 1968 has been a member of ASNE since February 1965.
